On April 28, 2007, many Guild Wars characters will celebrate their second birthday. Then, every day after that date, more characters will reach that special milestone. Last year's birthday gifts were very popular, and the team would like to honor your second birthday with another suitable memento.

The popular choice for a special second-year birthday gift seems to be a new set of miniatures. So, as we often do, we'd like to ask your ideas about this. What sort of new miniatures that you would like to see in the game? Please post in here and share your ideas. All the comments will be gathered and shared with the designers, so that this coming birthday will be the best ever!

Some miniatures i would like to see are:

Here are a few ideas:

-A new set of max armor (+hp or inscribable I guess) for that PC's class. This armor would have a unique look to it. (could be recreated with /bonusarmor command).
-More Minitures (this is an okay one), mini Cynn would be a must.
-maybe some hats
-A new blue weapon of some sort (like a bonus weapon for preorder people)
-How about a new title track showing the age of PCs in years?
-The 5 main NPCs, Devnoa and Co. as usable heroes.

And finally: extra storage space to hold everything.

EDIT: Gaile, not everyone likes minipets. Some people think they take up too much space. Others would prefer something more useful. But here are some more ideas in that line in case the devs are dead-set on minipets.

I'm personally against new miniatures. Miniatures aren't a "Series" of things, and they are always being out and about (Namely, last even with 2 new miniatures introduced into the game)

I would like to see something entirely different then miniatures for a birthday. But please, no more miniatures just as a birthday gift. That sort of takes away from the birthday if you expect to get a miniature every birthday doesn't it?

I can really only think of minis that aren't duplicates of any you could get for the first anniversary.

In general I don't like minis of characters as they tend to be so tiny that they lose a lot of details. There is one exception -
Mini Gwen!!!! Please please please!

Would love to see a mini Dying Nightmare (make it make the noise too to scare the hell our of monks while in UW)

More pets from Factions or Nightfall - Definately some of the demons from NF (Blade of Corruption, Word of Corruption) or Shiro'ken (Sin/Warrior, ele dragon!)
For green/golds - Celestials. Particularly the celestial dragon from Nahpui 1/4

As for another idea linked to a long wished request from the community - a "Gift Certificate" to a cosmetic NPC.

On your birthday you receive a token of some time that you can go to an NPC and change any of the aspects of your facial appearance (Hair style, color, face, skin color) in exchange for the token. Those not wanting to use it could sell it.

I agree, perhaps divine aura or something like that to still be able to show-off that your character is 2 years old, but no more minis.

Since I'm a warrior primary, I would love to get a mini Devona running around beside me. A mini Gwen would be pretty cute. What would really be cool is if all the 2nd birthday minis had the same rarity and people could choose which one they wanted. Nothing more disappointing than opening your birthday present and getting a mini you don't like.

I actually would prefer more 'practical' gifts, like a Rune customized for the character to expand the belt pouch or bags. I also like the idea of mini's going around picking up loot. Right now my mini's are like a fish tank... sitting in storage for me to admire every once in a while.

I would love to see these mini's introduced into the "birthday pool":

Mini "you" (your character)

...But as for 2nd birthdays, I'd like to see something different/more practical as mentioned by others above.

No more minipets, full stop. The trouble is that they're being used just as much for making profits (buying low, selling high) as they are actually being walked around.

We need something to show off our age. A special emote, an aura, clothing/disguises (as an emote, not an item in inventory)... and there have been some other good ideas too.

Try not to make a load of items... [insert grumbling about storage space here]. Of course, more storage would be a great present too.

No new minipets!

Something customized to your character. I don't care what it is, but it would be nice to have it not be tradeable.

Oh snap, didn't see the post above me, more storage or guild storage or somewhere to put everything would be great. Even though people would complain, just key storage or collector item storage would be amazing.

I would prefer no new minipets. We already have enough.

Here's an idea, but I don't know how hard this would be to program or even if the community would like the idea. Definitely get more feedback. How about this, if your character is over 2 years old, the chests and/or drops are capable of dropping existing minipets. Some pets would still be exclusive, like the beetle and panda but the birthday minis could be added to drops.

- These drops should still remain ultra-rare. Perhaps the same rate as Black Dye.
- Only possible if your character is over 2 years old.
- Ok, if you don't like that idea, how about just a new weapon/item that can only drop for 2 year or older chars.

I feel like I'm making a wish list for Santa Claus.
Well I like my minpets, but for the 2nd birthday I was thinking:

Option to change your character's appearance (though this would be difficult to implement unless it were through some sort of item)
Title track of characters age
All you can drink\eat on the day of -thats how my birhtdays work anyway...
A divine aura
Portable access to storage
Reset of deathcount
Access from then onward to an exclusive "Veteran's", "Who's Who", or "Ancients Heroes" Lounge\Club\Hall Area with free booze (preferably in conjunction with a title, but please not item based)

Some of these things have already been said, I know.

Here are a few things I would prefer be avoided.

Nothing that can be traded
If it can be traded then a character with alot of money or a very "young" character can own it. This detracts from the significance of a characters age and goes against what I'm assuming is the whole purpose of birthday presents.

No updated storage (not specific to birthdays anways)
As you probably already know, something as significant as an update in storage needs to be a blanket update for everyone or at least be based on achievements within the game. Seeing as how this would improve functionality drastically it would be better to use it as a step towards improving the game as a whole and thus draw the attention of new players rather than rewarding those who are obviously at the very least satisfied with the game.

No Minipets Redux
I simply have no interest in new minpets. Though mini grenth could be kind of cool...

Miniatures were unique and a suitable momento for last year. Even though I would like something pretty and shiny to show off, storage space seems like a nice gift for those of us who have spent almost 2 years playing the game (or have characters who have idled for 2 years

I would still rather have a minipet battle arena with skills and stats much the same as those in the snowball arena and dragon arena -_- But since Gaile has made it very clear that there is likely no chance of that happening in the near future I will move on to...

mini pet STORAGE! I brought all my minipets together and they take up exactly half of my storage box -_- And that is only on one account, my other account if I switched my minis over would almost finish taking up the space -_-
That said if you are determined to give us more minis then PLEASE give us somewhere to put them! As people have said, special auras for our characters or their weapons, special titles, something with more MEANING.
Anyone can buy a mini off of someone so why not give those who have stuck around for two years something with more meaning. I know to you guys two years might not mean much, but those of us who have stayed through nerf, glitch, and grind deserve a little something extra imo.

Off topic: Yeah that ghostly hero is uber leet.... How about a mini forgemaster in that chest that becomes available after you complete his quest XD

If it is an item it needs to be customized. Though the mini pet trade is booming, the actual reason of mini-pets existing has long been forgotten.
