2nd Birthday Ideas?

Hmm I actually have read 6 pages of ideas...

- Divine Aura, erhm I'd say no. Why? Theres some CE owners out there, inc. me with chars thats almost 2 years old. What would be the use of another sort of aura? Besides that I'd say if you want the 'special' aura, just google online for a retail seller, theres still a few out there that sell the Prophecies CE pack. I do remember a quote from the FAQ saying something Divine Aura will only be available for people who bought the CE Prophecies Edition. So you would 'shoot' those owners in the back, adding DA to non CE owners.

- Death Counter reset: this one I'd like to see. My idea would be something like they get survivor r1 at time of the reset. Why? Looking to the same char for 2 years would be a test of survival itself I'd say. After that you'd have to follow the same path as a 'normal' survivor would do. So lets say character A has 2.231.993 exp he would need gain the same amount as a normal rank 1 survivor. Even though if this comes in, I'd do a bit more...

- The new mini pets & where to put them... Ok, if you guys wanna add more pets, fine with me. Just 2 minor details: First off, please add the option so you can PICK your 2nd BD pet. Or something you need to check 3 and click a button and you get 1 of the 3. Even though option 1 is fair, everybody asks something for his birthday and hopes he gets it? Don't you? << also should keep the 'peace' on mini pet prices. More on this in my last part of the post.
Second thing, add some extra storage space or bag for these mini pets. They do take a lot of room in our limited storage we already have. I mean if a person gets 1 full set of each campaign (the 15k armor look) + core FoW Armor (lets say 4 a set, cuz not everybody has masks), thats 16 spots taken (if you keep the stuff on that char) meaning you'd lose almost 2 bags for just your good looking armor you collected in 2 years.

- Adding new mini pets, would rock indeed. At least put the 'prophecies' heros in there. So you can have your mini Cynn, Aidan, Devona, Mhenlo, Eve (ect ect) with you. I'd love that and I'm sure a lot of others would to.

- Heros: A 2 year old character has a new quest, able to get that in Lions Arch or Kamadan (Yes I did notice this sucks for somebody without access to Nightfall, but I assume most people have it). Wouldn't be a hardcore quest, just something do able to obtain a special Hero like the heros from Prophecies. Why just Prophecies? I still think this was the best story till now and 2 year olds, sorry but those are Tyrian born. So you could add Cynn as hero and customize her always annoying Firestorm or make Devona a swords warrior. Since they are already out there, idk if it's possible to make them hero's. Due the fact that non 2 year olds, can not custom them, as you can. But everybody will see and know you're 2 years old. (character wise people) << I favor this!

- Something worth Money: I would like that idea aswel, but I still think doing quests and just level/hunt/farm is the way to bring in money. Not wait 2 years for a crapload of ectos. But thats just my way of thinking and I know theres people out there with 2 years of play in collectors armor so... I would understand.

- New Title (it has been said) - Just a new title, with something to do so people can see you're 2 years old. All the hows and whats atm, I have no idea.

Also why I'm pushing the option so you can pick your mini pet at your second birthday is to avoid INSANE prices like with the bone dragon and gold pets, HoD swords and such rare items. The mini pig actions was hilarious, because some people bought a pig for about 30-60p and Pig drops in and gives a free mini-pig, I couldn't stop laughing... I have the money to spend some cash on mini pets, because I have my armors already, inc most of my heros. But I'd rather waste them on my titles I'm working on.

Some of the ideas have been suggested, I'd just pointed them out again. I'm not sure if everybody is willing to read 6+ pages

Customized weapon/offhand with skin/stats of your choice, or some kind of cool armour (again, customized to your liking) with your name on it of course.

I dont think they meant exactly like the divine aura, but similar - however for those that did mean "thee" divine aura I agree that its a special think for CE players only (maybe in 3 more years I will think differently ~_^)

no minipets or make them customized. I'm sick of people farming their butts off and buying pets. Not to mention it encourages ebaying.

Whatever it is:
- Customized
- Not demeaning to collector's edition of any chapter
- actually has no use other than aesthetic
- isn't annoyingly flashy like that halo thing mentioned in this thread
- not an emote, imagine people being elitist like rank flashers...
- not a title, because then you cannot use it with Lightbringer...

If it's mini pets, which personally i hope it is!

I don't mind if we get more mini pets. Something else would be good though. I have a collector nature, which means I have to have all the minipets, and the more out there, the more I'm gonna have to pay for them, and the more space they're all going to take up.

But I don't just want something customized to one character, or an emote. Since I don't play most of my older characters anymore, I think that would be really lame. Also, having them customized means that if you don't like it, you can't sell it. You've basically got nothing for your birthday, which is a bad feeling.

So I say maybe an emote and some sort of item. That means that I can still give the item to other chars, or sell it if I don't want it, but there's still the emote for all those people who want to show off that their character is two years old. I disagree with the title though. Titles should be available to anyone, not just whoever has been playing longer.

I'm going to hop on the "no more minipets plz" bandwagon here - they're fine as rewards for events or whatnot, but they're so diluted now as rewards that as a second birthday present they'd be pretty meaningless. One of the great things about the pets when they first came out was that it let us show off how we'd been with this game from the beginning - that element would be essentially gone, now, except for those sharp enough to keep track of which pets were rewards for what (and their tradability nullifies even that).

I like the idea of an NPC that allows you to assemble a customized weapon with stats that you choose, skin that you choose, and ultimately your name attached to it ("I'm wielding Brother Beqxter's staff!") - since pretty much any permutation of stats are available now, it wouldn't mean anything in terms of game play, but would allow us a bit of flash.

No minipets please. I don't like them and have no use for them other than as a source of income. (Though my last 2 presents hardly qualified even as that. ) A (non-maxable) title tracking seniority would be nice, adding a level with each year.

And disguises, definitely disguises!

I would be happy for another new set of minis. I love them, they are cute. I cant really afford any of the current non birthday ones but another round of birthday mini's would drop some into my price range. Though this makes me think if they don't do birthday mini's it would be cool if there was a games island that you can trade in so many tokens for a second set mini..... so much cuteness to gather...Ahem.

No more hats please. Keep those for festivals. At least mini's dont drop your armor level when you are out with them.

Disguises would be neat. Or some sort of aura/wings/halo.

Or all of these! You get a birthday token and take it to a special NPC. Then you can choose one of the above ideas. People that want a mini, choose your mini. People that want wings, choose that. Win-win! Sorry, going against the crowd and saying NO to customized. If I want to move my present over to another char of mine or my mule then I should be able to. But hopefully if you get to choose your gift a bit then less people would want to sell theirs.

I agree with the poster under me actually, giving us something to redeem for any minipet we want or something like that would be really cool, and if like you owned CE or Nightfall you could get access to "greens" and stuff.

That is a neat idea.

Please no more minipets for the 2nd birthday. I'm a casual gamer I don't usually spend my time staying in outposts but at the explorable areas doing missions solo. Minipets are there for display so that people would see it, but what about for casual gamers who usually play solo. For some of us it's just a waste of space, anyone can buy them so it takes away that specialness.

I would suggest a present that is more practical like some mentioned above or make that 2 year character unlockable as heroes. How nice it is to see your 2 year character fighting alongside with you

I don't own mini pets and the one's that I have received, I sold. Why? They don't do anything for me except take up storage space.

I would have mini pets IF and only IF they did something for me. For example:

White:
Increase primary [insert class] skills by 2%/20% OR
Give 10% health bonus OR
Mini Pets with +1/10% Attributes
etc…etc….etc….

Purple:
Increase primary [insert class] skills by 5%/20% OR
Give 20% health bonus OR
Mini Pets with +1/15% Attributes
etc…etc….etc….

Gold:
Increase primary [insert class] skills by 10%/20% OR
Give 30% health bonus OR
Mini Pets with +1/20% Attributes
etc…etc….etc….

These are just examples and the % might not be right but the point is they should help you in some sort of way other then just add pixels to the screen. After all it's a Birthday Present!

#1 would be more storage.
#2 would be a quest to aquire a special new hero. this would definatly be unique as it wouldnt be able to be sold or traded yet everyone that has a 2 year old char would be able to get one.
#3 an age/xp title would be cool.
#4 maybe an /agebonusitem switch that would give you max inscribable customized weapons for all of those heros you have now. though this would only be good for those that have bought nightfall to go with their prophecies account.
#5 this one is pretty unlikely but let me use a full party of heros not just 3. why have 12 unlocked when i cant even use most of them at the same time.

Mini Ruby Djinn would be awesome, IMO.

Mini Mhenlo!!! or Mini Gwen I suppose, she should skip and twirl like the regular gwen, but Mini Mhenlo for sure! lol but please don't make it rare and worth 100k+ lol

I've been a very good warrior this year. I defeated the Lich, Shiro, AND saved the world from Nightfall and the return of Abaddon. Not to mention all the quests i've completed to help raise the quality of living all across Tyria. Would you please please PLEASE give me a Roaring Ether mini-pet for my 2nd birthday? I've come across many amazing and wonderful creatures in my travels, but I can't think any others that would make a more suitable mini-pet for me. (Besides the Charr Shaman I already have and I wuv him!)

I like the idea of a weapon. I'd want it to be gold or green, with the characters name in it, customized and/or untradeable. I'd also want it to be inscribable so I can mod it to my taste, max damage, and NO REQ. so I can use it with whatever primary or secondary build combo I so desire. I'd also prefer if the weapon was made via a /bonus command, and at that time I could choose if I wanted a wand, sword, shield, scythe, etc., via a /bonuswand or /bonusfocus or whatever command.

That's the only weapon I'd be happy with as a 2nd year present. Anything else would be a waste of time and prolly never get used. Yes, I know, I'm picky and unrealistic.

No new Minipets Please. Minipets were sooooo last year.

I like the idea of cool disguises.

I loved the corsair disguise in Blacktide Den.

A Djinn Disguise would be awesome for an Elementalist or Dervish.
Or how about a Ghost disguise.
Guild Lord disguise would be cool.
Or even a set of different profession disguises. Dress your Warrior up like a Ranger. Dress your Elementalist up like a Necromancer. Dress your Mesmer up like a Ritualist. This could be a lot of fun.

Only way I'd accept that mini pet is if he talks using his voice. No text. (Hablion's Voice Actor FTW)

An emote could be cool; but not divine aura! That means Prophecies CE; they'd have to make a different one for 2 years.



But I'm all for more minipets; Palawa Joko and Junundu would be cool.

If you go the way of new minipets make them useful please. I would love a temple guardian that spams healing breeze or a shooting siege turtle. Make them only usable in PvE and don´t overpower them but give us a reason to use them. And doubleclicking the pets should enable some form of auto minipet so that we dont have to click on them every time we warp into a new zone to put them out.

Love the mini smite idea I would kill to have that follow me around!

Hopefully they won't take the easy approach and add the mini-pets. Something like a green weapon with the character's name would be very cool. Maybe it could be a random weapon from a certain pool (like end-game greens) which would come with your name.

Or the long-awaited town clothes.

I think it would be absolutely great if we could get a kind of pet which is actually not a pet but stuff!
Let me explain this:

A rolling beer keg or huge wine bottle or something which rolls around you...
This would be totally kick a** for all drinking titles and so on and is a very funny idea I think because the pets themselves are getting boring

I really liked the 1-time death counter reset idea. Since Characters that are 2 years old had zero to no chance getting surviver that would help them quite a bit.

If you decide to give out Minipets again (which would be boring imho), please add some kind of a counter which pets an account already received.

Last year I had 75% Jade Armors . As we're talking about long time players, this should be a worthy tribute to them.

What I would really prefer is some beverage and a age title track combined with some nice aura, as already mentioned.

I prefer no more minipet or headgear. I like the idea of disguises or at least some civilian clothes (these are customized to you of course). An emote is ok also (but really what kind of emote they should make?). A special district for veteran board games like chess/checker and other stuff, but this is probably too much work on the team.

How about lvl for Minis ? I personly though Anet had some up its sleeve with all the pictures of Lvl 1 Mini. Like age based mini with a Lvl would be the same as the emote for 2 yold chars. Though its only an update and no gift will look forwawrd new goods as pets are like general surprises updates..no need to put like tons of new pets etc..jsut keep those updated like MIni Malyx, ghost hero etc.

Please Gaile....somthing generous but mostly original as we dont realy care in a 90% ratio of new kinds of minis.

Yes a verry special item, non selable customised at your name of char who is 2 yold. Best idea ever. So no bad effect on the general value of items but trully nice to your long time customers. Cmon Anet, you can dod this the goo way....Minis are not nices anymore as most of High end players only trade those mostly and who need more of those usless things anyways

Out of all the Suggestions given, I like this the most.

* NOT a new mini-pet, but a new pet, available only to 2 y/olds.
Maybe a dragon or a griffon.
(dreaming here: a pet we can ride on)
* 2 pets per character.
* More storage space
* Appearance/hairstyle options.
