Detailed Second Birthday Present Poll

Once again and to clarify, since some seem to think we've said more than we've said, the message in our initial casual question (not a poll, you'll note) was not to say, "The Second Birthday Present will be miniatures." We have only asked what miniatures would be desired if we do offer those as the gift or -- consider this! -- if we add more for other purposes.

And just to clarify, some of the ideas in this poll are do-able, some are not. I only caution that we all take an open-minded approach, so that no one gets locked into a certain notion and cannot see the value of any other.

I think we should all remember that A-Net doesn't have the necessary resources or time to complete some of our requests. (Like my Hall of Fame idea) but making mini pets seem to be the fastest way to complete our second birthday gifts since they're focusing on Chapter 4 not to mention updates for the existing chapters.

I realise the Pressie hasn't yet been decided yet, but, if you would kindly state which things we've been asking for is out-of-the-question, I'd be much obliged.

Sorry to sound harsh in my last post, but I also drew from this, "What sort of new miniatures that you would like to see in the game?" which to me, is pretty much stating that we will get minis. (Which, I am not averse to, I'm just annoyed with all the whining "I didn't get what I wanted!!!"...)

The special aura would rock so much! Minis? I received 4 last year.

I put token, but want to add the option of a new charmable pet or hero with all professions (like the presumed original design for razah).

I'd like to hear what is not doable please?

(off topic)... i was thinking about dances.Why cant any profession dance like the other? id really want to try paragon dance on my warrior!^_^

I have a feeling it's these.

One pet, but a mini-pet of your character.
A Special Aura/Visual (that can be toggled on and off).
A Max Weapon that you can name (perfect stats and fully upgradeable).
Access to a special suit of Max Armor.
A set of Neon Dyes (probably 7, so you can dyes all armor parts plus weapon and off-hand).
A new Emote (maybe a new dance).

I might be wrong, but I have a feeling those might take more time than they want to use. ESP Emote and Mini-me

The rune of holding would really give some people an advantage, and offset the economy ALOT.

Don't forget Hall of Fame island for players in their second birthday would be hard to do in short time frame.

I think the spectral wings are my favorite idea (maybe you could pick the type you want from avian, gossiemer, etc) but the max weapon or special armor would be nice too.

Would it be possible for you to tell us which ones can't be done. Doesn't make much sense for us to vote for something thats not possible.

I vote for [None of the above] and to be more to the point I think there should be NO B-day present at all.

Last year Anet made a nice gesture that was a surprise to all [roll forward less than 1 year] and most of what I see,not all but most is a bunch of spoiled brats telling them what they should get rather than being happy and thankful for getting anything at all for doing absolutely nothing!

It was a nice enough idea last year but perhaps Anet should forget the idea of B-day presents / Free chests / Weekend events or anything else they may wish to do to be nice for the players, since as so many of you point out on a regular basis "No good deed goes unpunished"

Well, all the ideas of what people would like to see for the 2nd Birthday present was a nice idea but from what Gaile has already stated we are only going to get a mini pet, I just say once again please do not have any very rare mini pet that 1 out of 1000 people get and give everyone else a ordinary run of the mill common pet, if you are going to give out mini's make sure they are all gold or all common, maybe also give us a choice on which mini we would like when you double click on the gift box. Making one person feel special and someone else feel like they weren't lucky enough to get a rare birthday gift was abit unfair.

You might want to scroll back and maybe then you will see Gaile didn't start the poll, she respects the posting of the poll but it doesn't mean that the items in the poll are viable at this time.

By making a poll, even if it reflects the items that most people want, it will create confusion, and lead people to think that we will actually get whatever we vote on, and if we don't get it.... time to complain again!!!

I really wish people would realize these are all extras ANET gives us, not because THEY HAVE TO, but because THEY WANT TO. Be grateful and happy with what you get, enjoy it, and have fun, instead of complaining about it.

I really wish people would learn to read. Gaile originally asked (in another post), what kind of mini's would you like to see and everyone started their wish list with all kinds of other crap. If you don't want a mini, then don't reply to the thread. Don't clutter it up with stuff everyone else has been whinning about.

I seriously doubt that will happen since it was Gaile who started the thread.

Very good point Bart and one that I agree with. I am so tired of the whinning and stuff when really, anet doesn't have to do anything and they do just to be nice. People don't appreciate nice so like you said, just stop doing anything.

If there is no mini pets, would we be having this discussion now?

I voted the custom made weapon, because I think it's more practical than some pretty lights around your character that nearly everyone and their minipet will have by the next week. I personally would like some nice weapons (skin of choice?) custom made to my liking that's named after my characters because it's a one of a kind hand made item of sentimental value that you can say you're proud of. Plus, since you did say "upgradeable" in the options does this mean that you could always change the stats to whatever you like when you want to? I can picture all of my ideal weapons already .
