We hasten to inform, that in the nearest number «Игромании» you are waited at once with two clauses which will tell both about continuation of the first part of game, and about сиквеле. But already now we are ready to share with you the most interesting: Guild Wars Eye of the North New campaign (so developers name аддоны to GW) will be developed in territory old-kind Аскалона. We again face to face shall collide with tribe Чарр, and also with two more races Asura and Norn which to the full will open the opportunities only in Guild Wars 2. — New territories among which 18 multilevel vaults (томбов) appear. — 40 new sets армора (reservations). — Additional 150 скиллов (10 for PvP and 50 for PvE) Well and, perhaps, the most important. In difference from all previous additions for Guild Wars which have been focused on all categories of players, Eye of the North it is calculated basically on высокоуровневых characters. That is and beginners, certainly, can play, but, first, they at once should prepare for difficulties, and secondly,In the world хайлевелов it it will be not very comfortable. However, the era of the first GW on the sly comes to an end — Eye of the North this last addition (there will be it in the autumn-winter of current year). Грядет era Guild Wars 2. If the information about аддоне you already could find and on others the Internet-sources here data about сиквеле games, about Guild Wars 2, are completely exclusive. Guild Wars 2 History Guild Wars 2 will be developed in territory so is good familiar to admirers of game of kingdoms — Crete and Аскалон, later some hundreds years after events of first part Guild Wars. If in the first part there was only one играбельная race — people in сиквеле to gamers will give порулить at once for five "nationalities". For people , For ящероподобных monsters Чарр (the basic opponents of people in the first GW), for Norn, Asura and Sylvari. And if about Asura and Sylvari while a little that is known, here about Norn... These are the presents turn world Guild Wars. During fight they can turn to bears, considerably strengthening these the fighting skills. The concept of the game world is not less interesting also. Developers have completely refused from инстансовой systems when for each party of the players who are passing a quest, the separate location is generated. Now the world of game is uniform, leaving on the task you can meet on it set of other parties. The set of changes will appear in social structure, system of fights. The cursor as will be modified — developers tell about an opportunity to use subjects of an environment as the weapon and about many other things «вкусностях». The output сиквела is planned for 2008-2009. In detail about all this you can read through in the nearest number «Игромании» which in the end of month will appear on counters. |
EDIT: Having just read this myself, doesn't it just look like a re-iteration of the Inquier "news"?

Most of this looks like the same info from the inquirer article....
Looks like we may get shapeshifters though.

Hey Rit
It seems a lot like the inquirer article to me too, which has me wondering if Gaile lied to us...(please don't hurt me Gaile!) Now I'm really getting anxious for the PC Gamer article, just to make sure it's the same/close to that one (and it'll be in english)
PC Gamer better come tomorrow...

Shame I don't have a subscription to any of these magazines. Looks like the info will be online before it comes in shops.
Oh well, back to watching Ferne Cotton presenting Comic Relief. ;D

Gaile lied? How so?
I thought she just said it wasn't official (in PR speak of course).

You could do all 3 campaigns and the end game in one week.
The current GW PvE would not survive even a cheap monthly. Significant, I mean significant, increase in content would be needed to justify monthly.

I tried to do one more translation of the article based off other translations please forgive me if it still makes little sense in some places.
Hopefully someone can really do a better translation then what I could do. I tried to take one more crack at it. However I agree with the most of you it’s somewhat the same info as the Inquirer.

I take this one with a grain of salt. I will still wait for the PC gamer mag.

I translated the инстансовой word using google translater and got instansova which might mean instances which might mean they're removing instances
GreatBabai
well, i read that russian article on previous page and by knowing russian as native language, can say that it contains absolutely no new information about C4 or GW2, that not present earlier on Inquirer article.
It was just translated on russian + added announse of 2 incoming articles in next month issue of russian game magazine "Igromania"
and added a little info about Norns being a shapeshifter race and changes from instance location system to a one world for all players.

WooT.. my interest in guild wars (particuarly GW2) is getting sparked again. *waits for people to post PC Gamer info*

I’ve got this weird feeling it’s going to be official now; at least the last expansion in GW and GW 2. I still seriously hope they continue to update the original series, if all of this is true. Also thanks for those pictures GreatBabai and the reinsurance about the article; things are coming to a crunch now. Some of the rumors are starting to turn into facts.
However what’s interesting is the fact that that shape shifter thing kind of reminds me of the Druid of Claw from the Warcraft series.

Also, I like the instances. I have no one stealing my kills, I have a choice to play on my own or not. Also, there's almost no lag.
But that article does read an awful lot like the Inquirer one, so I think we'll have to wait for PC Gamer to reach subscribers (I was hoping that would have happened by today) to be sure on any of the information.

However if the magazine does not come in tomorrow, we have to wait till Monday to get it. U.S. post officials hvae Sundays off.

Well from my understand of reading that article, there will still be instances but they'll be limited to missions/quests. It seems that the game world itself isnt instanced. So no more multiple districts of outposts? And more of a feeling that it's an actual world now?

Breaking news!
An obscure source from Indonesia states that the next installment of Guild Wars will completely remove everything that made the game unique and successful! It'll be great!
Yeah...
MAN will I be happy when that stupid magazine arrives. The forums are so boring these days.

Hey there is nothing wrong with a shot in the dark. Considering other games are hogging the press lately. Hopefully the new news about GW will bring the developer company some brand new attention.

I have to disagree with you, though- the forums haven't been this interesting in weeks, due to both the rampant speculation and "oh noes"ing, and the silly sarcastic comments like yours

I've always thought that GW worked this way purely for design reasons. I'll bet they could adapt their current technology pretty easily to have fully persistent areas. But it's the game mechanics that would really take the most time to work out, I think.
Even if they do have shared areas, I doubt very much they'd lose instances altogether. It seems like some marriage between the two would produce a pretty sexy game - so long as it remained monthly-fee-free, of course.
MirageMaster
Well, i am happy that GWEN will be in charr therretory.Hope shapeshifters will be able to do the wolf thingy too, werewolfe ruled in D2.
Deagol
Dynamic instances allows you to balance the load better on multiple machines, and is a key to make Guild Wars a good business even with no monthly fee. No monthly fee was not a last minute decision, it was decided early on, and the whole game was designed around that requirement.
Persistent areas could not be done with the current GW technology, and it could not be done economically with no monthly fee using traditional MMORPG technology, so if ArenaNet dreams of persistent areas with no monthly fee, they will have to invent something new.

If you can't imagine how instance would save bandwidth, think about this:
In a large area with a lot of people, player A casts a spell. The server will have to send such information to EVERYONE near player A (Probably more than 10 players. It could be less, but it also could be A LOT MORE). Now, if more than one players are casting a spell at that moment, I think you can do the maths.
Now, in the case of an instance area, the maximum number of players that the server will have to send such information to would be around 11 (in Elite PvE areas) or something less than 70 (in the case of a HoH match, which is the only case right now that such number could reach pass 20).
See the differences? The number of instances on the server doesn't really increase much bandwidth usage since the data to be sent to each player at any given moment are a lot lot less.

as some one states the Russian article does not contains a lot of new info , it actually explicitly says that nearly all of what they say about chp4 was already publish on the net
BUT this article confirm what was said by the inq : confirm as in official. Now as you said and as it is written this is only a teaser for the full article they will publish.
it confirm that GW EotN will be the last
it states that W EotN will play in the Ascalon region (and that we will start to see norns and asura)
it sates that GW 2 will have playable race (5) that there will be shape changer , more interaction with the environment ( i heard this song before ie for GW1) that it will take place around ascalon , and some stuff about group and dynamic quest..
of course wait for a full artcile to get more..but if you tire of waiting for NC little arrangements with the press its better than nothing
