"Fresh Guild Wars announced" From the Inquirer!
NeHoMaR
Anyway, the update could be free, if is just a update; If not, and supposing that info is true, I hope will be a box version of the game and no GW store only. I don't have a credit card (don't need one because I always buy with cash eveything)
I don't like the article because is hypocrite and apocalyptic about GW. About the playable races, the article make me understand that idea is for GW2.

Firstly:
Good news on the next chapter. I had every feeling that the next chapter would be with the Charr and would mean going North. I love that this is being tied up.
Secondly:
Great news on GW2. Can't wait to see it!
Thirdly:
Bad news if chap 4 is the final chapter and there is no crossover with GW2.
As someone said above, and I completely agree, this seriously dents my motivation to continue playing.
IF, however, there can be some crossover to GW2, I'd be very happy to keep playing:
My suggestion is to allow the new character in Guild Wars 2 to have an 'ancestor hero', that ancestor hero can be any of the characters you used in GW1. These heroes keep the character name, but appear as spirits. And depending on how many titles were maxed, depends on how many exclusive spirit skills are available to the ancestor hero in GW2.
That way it keeps game play in GW1 alive an active, knowing it helps in GW2.
The only thing I would add, is the new GW2 char probably shouldn't be able to unlock the ancestor hero until they've completed some form of spirit quest when they reach level 20. (or whatever Max is set)

Lol
Everyone is supposing about Gw2 and Chapter 4.
NO ONE - repeat - NO ONE from a.net released news on new chapter/new game.
Calm down
The only thing I hope is that Gw will be more Pve, or i'll leave this game. For pvpers: if u like killing other people, try some FPS.

Atm I'm still waiting for confirmation from some official part of Anet or NCsoft, but I'm still not too happy about what I'm seeing atm. :/

It was obvious Guild Wars was at the end of it's road, but I really hope they do more than just what the article says for GW2. I am however calling bullshit on this article until a CR rep confirms it.

If you know your character is gonna be unsuported in future iterations of series, you do loose motivation to work on him, you kinda loose motivation to play game and buy that last expansion.
So, even if it hurts character somehow (i.e. all skills unsupported in GW2 removed from character, loss of all XP and reset to level1, forced hair/face change, inability to take armor/weapons over, removel of cetain upgrades from weapons/armor), it is HIGHLY desirable feature.
(There was reason why Baldurs gate series allowed character import from previous version even if combat system changed a lot and character lost items by transfer.)
So, Gaile, will GW2 be compatible with GW1, Will we have ability to continue our chars in there?
What will happen with GW1 when GW2 is released?

Interesting.
The source seems to be an unnamed source from the GDC 2007.

Perhaps it's what the game needs...it's exciting yet scary at the same time. Hang on in there, soldier.

Eye of the North, could have Mursaat, since they have that eye of thingy. Just a quick idea.

Gaile in short will most likely say, everyone chill out, nothing is final until you have heard it directly from Anet, as always the community's ideas will be taken into consideration, none of this news is by any means reason enough to quit playing the game

Considering this is apparently an actual announcement from NCSoft at GDC, I find it hard not to believe (although the enquirer is hardly a reputable source). I certainly welcome it. A sequel was inevitable. They know they can't go on releasing campaigns with the current pace of the PvE game. It was always seen as a poor-mans alternative (despite our feelings to the contrary). Yet it was always a moneymaker. Notice all the 'it was'? I think maybe they'll regret announcing it so soon.
Considering there are supposedly races in GW2 I find it unlikely that 'characters' from GW will make it across. That's not to say that names can't be reserved, etc. I specifically asked about this in that 'ask a dev' thing that didn't happen, and now I can see why they didn't answer any of them!

So while we r on the topic of everyone freaking out...
Statue of Melandru? Statue of Lyssa any1??

Hah, I'd take this with a truckload of salt. The Inquirer isn't exactly known for their thorough investigation and journalistic brilliance. It has no more weight to it than anything you could make up yourself until it's coming from a more reputable source.
JC68
it looks like no new classes, cool so CE special emote will be (hopefuly) for core classes as well

Savages BS news:
Guild Wars 5 will be coming out in 2015! 24 new professions. 3 Skills added!
I agreed with mikkel, this source of information just doesnt seem that reliable...i think we making a big fuss out of someone playing a huge trick on us. :P

They may increased the span of releasing new contents but i'm sure we will have updates like SF.
1-Statue of Melandru.
2-Statue of Lyssa.
3-the huge wasted spaces on all 3 maps (tyria, cantha and elona) can may revealed by time in updates to keep ppl exploring more.

Adopting wait and see stance this is the same BS they pull sometime ago with nightfall and faction.
quote "150 new skills, out of which 50 belong only to PvE (Player versus Enviroment). "
ok so 50 skill divided by 10 character = 5 skills each Subtract the junk skills = 1 actually useful PvE skill weeeee
As for if GW2 is release i am sure everyone have a question in mind(Is current GW1 characters transferable)
If Yes: Everyone is happy
If No: Whats the point of getting Eye of the North add on with the game becoming ghost town if everyones getting GW2 later on and moved on
Quote"main drool factor will be zone-wide events (read, open war in DaoC and Alterac Valley style"
My question are they refering to those GvG and HA eg 8v8 <---open war PvP alliance battle etc etc<---Another BS of small scale warfare trying to make it look big.
Then again all this is from "The inquirer" nothing is concrete just hype to bring people to their website.

Hmm now lets put things into perspective:
Eye of the North: Addon content to existing chapter with more of the same stuff (skills are new? we dont have to click on them now?) without any new mechanics added and perhaps even sold lesser but at a comparable price of a retail chapter? Does the term milking sound familiar to anyone? Let us not forget GW1 may not be cross compatitble with GW2...we paying more for a older dying game? GG.
GW2: More races, better eye candy, set level cap still with "sensitive leveling" (we gone through this crap before), possible RvR style PvP?(alliance battle joke anyone?) and we got to wait til 2009-2010 to get them? I hope this add-on can afford to pay the bills til then....otherwise we may see another "Eye of the south/west/east Addons" for GW1 not too soon after.
In short GW as a whole seem to me as an incomplete product with false marketing, with many of the enjoyable elements missing but slowly put them up under the guise of "free updates for a totally free online game" Or even maybe sell a totally new product with things that should have been in there in the first place. WOAH HOW COOL IS THAT!
Please go and buy multiple copies of Eye of the North for all your copies of GW we sure need all the money for Anet so the rest of us can afford to play it for free. Pretty please.

It does sound kinda cool. But I really hope there is a big change in game mechanics. IF it is the last new big content for 2 years then I can see pretty much the entire game's population leaving and finding something else to do. Now, what they may do is to release SF like expansions every 3-4 months which may help, but with so many MMO's about to be released competition would be fierce. I guess wait and see, and trust no one is the order of the day. |

A.net won't even give us details about C4 and suddenly we have information about C4 AND GW2? Isn't that a little odd?

Hmm, the new gw add sounds ok, however information seems a bit vague atm, so i'm not gonna come to any conclusions til it comes out

I can't wait till all of this is false... I will gafaw
Jamison0071
I am having major doubts about this information, didn't Anet say they wouldn't make a GW2, just update the original engine? I swear they said that somewhere. IMO GW2 sounds good but I just hope I can bring my Narcissa (my favourite character)

Morporkian Mercenaries? Sounds like a Discworld fan to me
Atm I'm wondering how the OP actually *found* "The inquirer" - it seems to be quite a smallscale/obscure website. Still not too happy with its info though, especially if it is false. What is the point, other than amusment at all the unhappy fans here? :P

I'm going to wait for more info from other sources, especially PC Gamer/Anet until I am for sure about anything.
If Guild Wars 2 is not compatable with Guild Wars 1, I'm outta here. I have put TONS of time (3,500hours) and energy into Guild Wars, and if they make me leave my characters in Guild Wars 1, I will walk away from GW, ArenaNet and NCsoft forever.
Races? c'mon ArenaNet, races are for WoW and not GW.
PvP'ers do not need more stuff, they have their battle isles and I wouldn't be surprised if they added more content to that, but it looks like they are getting the short stick for Chapter4 (could be wrong, like I said I am waiting for confirmation from another source).
Also, this article doesn't sound like it is really knowledgeable of Guild Wars(DUNGEONS?!?!?!?)

As has been stated before, until you hear it from ANet it's just rumor. Articles in magazines can be traced to specific people at ANet / NCSoft. Random crap on a site such as The Inquirer is just rumor if it can't be verified.

Could it be that some Anet joker deliberately leaked some false rumours to make the forums explode? It's always fun to watch.

Joke or not, it's enough to pretty much halt any further online store purchases until people know how far their buck/pound/whatever is going to go. I figured it would end, but not this soon. Just have to wait and see what the company says.

What I don't understand is: how could this have been in the GDC 2007 conference if it doesn't start until today - as in later today? I smell a rotten egg.

Something smells fishy here !!!!
what i'm thinking is it's a concept of idea in Anet's mind and they leaked it as rumor to see what is the impact if they made something like that.
guess what Anet..this idea sucks
