What Nightfall mission do you think is difficult?
lord catos
The mission I hate the most is : Jennur’s Horde.
Its not that the mission is to difficult but the group, who you go in with the mission, they don’t know what they do.
Before the mission starts you asked them if they know the mission, they all know!
We start, and you now the rest mess up..
The best way through the mission is to take 1 more player and hero’s.
The best team I think is ;
• you
• koss ( you need him for the mission)
• then 2 monks
• 2 mm (there are plenty dead corpses around).
• 1 ele ( always the fire dmg)
• And a warrior or some one with good dmg.
Oh and a little tip !
DON’T KILL THE FIRST 2 HARBINGERS !!

I agree that it's a pretty hard one, which is why I do Nundu Bay for the characters that I have that I don't want to bother with the Protector title. However, I've seen people successfully run this mission, so it's technically doable. The thing about this mish, like the whole concept of GW, is teamwork - If you all work together and compliment each other's stregths and cover their weaknesses, you'll do fine. If not, you'll fail.

You just have to take a group of mobs, kill the spawned group of mobs, kill another group, kill the spawned group ( they spawn groups every now and then , the trick is engageing the spawned group after/before a regular group, so you have time to kill the regular group before the spawned group comes leroying after your light seed thingies , try not to be overran )

I found Jennur's Horde easy with just heroes and hench, though it did take me a few tries. But I thought it was fun. The mission I find is the most annoying is Dzagonur's Bastion. Too many mobs with too many points to protect. However I never tried with a PUG. It's probably one of those missions that is much easier with real people.
Cebe
Heroable, yes, but really REALLY nasty nonetleless. After my first character went through the game, and I did it enough times to get masters on it, I have never done it on another character.
btw. the title of this thread is just class.

1. Take out the 2 waves that come after the center, while camping the center.
2. Take out the mob at one of the rifts ignoring the blasphemy (you've got plenty of time). Once the mob is gone, keep 4 people at the rift to close it while the others go after the Blasphemy.
3. Kill the blasphemy while resetting the middle timer. (LB gaze works great on them orb thingies!)
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the other 2 rifts.
EDIT: There's a nice run on the east side of the Mirror of Lyss for LB point farming. Each run takes only 5-10 minutes and you get 64 (or 72 if you run down to the out of the way mob) points per run.

When I was getting Christie through NF, I got stuck at Dasha Vastible. For atleast 2 days...I hated it!

The Gate of Madness mission kicked my butt for along time. If I could get a team (most of the time I couldn't) everyone argued about how to beat it and ended up getting us killed. Finaly they tried what I was wanting to try since I first did the mission. We lured shiro out and hit him with all we had then break aggro to get him to stop attacking then gain aggro again when he went through the doorway then repeat and finaly he just died.

I failed Dasha's vestibule twice: first got stuck in the ice trap, second time pwnd by the horrible boss trio in the end.
Gate of pain is hard to with heroes/henches. They just don't get how to use GoLE and Prot spirit, which is frustrating when facing fire El bosses.
The other missions are easy.
Actually I found that the hardest thing in NF campain was the main quest between gate of pain and gate of madness. Skills cost +40% energy due to environnmental effect and Torments arms summon that nasty spirit that gets energy cost higher. Damn I always end up stacking death penalty there...

The only NF mission I found somewhat hard was Gate of Pain. I'd get DPed out a lot and be 60dping the mission.

I didn't find any of the missions hard tbh, just annoying at some parts.

Gate of Pain is a cakewalk with two ranger heroes with broadhead arrow. Target one on each dryder and the poor buggers never get a spell off.
Gate of Madness is quite simple once you know the path to take to get to teh portals. You only need to fight five mobs, four torment claws and four titans on the way. The portals are easy with proper timing. Shiro isn't that tough if you pull him up to the doorway. Most kill the lich first then run around trying to cap shrines. Pfft, kill shiro first and the lich doesn't even follow. Cap the shrines and the lich is a joke. Easy masters in about 20 minutes. Taht'w with nothing but heros and hench, assuming you have any clue about setting skillbars.
You can run from GoP to GoM without doing any fighting until the very end. With luck you miss the titans and only have to kill the one margonitte group on the bridge.
Grand Court is easy, set Koss and Talkora on center after clearing the first few roaming margonittes. They can easily deal with the blasphemy and orb things. The other six can cap the three corners in just a few minutes.
Jennurs Horde is pure timing. A new mob spawns every two minutes. Watch the clock and it's a piece of cake. Kill the new mob, then kill one stationary mob, wait for the next spawn. Rinse and repeat.

The best way I've found for Masters is pretty much two groups, each of which has an mm. You move up to the 3rd Harbinger take it out then clear the mobs and the patrols. Then you leave 1 mm, 1 monk and two others to hold off the patrols and then take the rest of the party and go do the bonus. The trick? Wall hugging. Don't attack the 4th and 5th Harbingers. You can just barely sneark past them without aggroing them, the only concern is if your MM's minions will aggro him. If you're lucky half your team will be holding them in the middle of the courtyard ahead of the 3rd Light, while the other half clears the bonus. Then you take out the other two Harbingers and then finish it off.
Quote: Originally Posted by Kuldebar Valiturus Grand Court of Sebelkeh is kicking my butt atm. :/ I've actually been able to do this with the Master's bonus with only Hero and hench and technically I think it can be done with any class. Take Tahlkora (preferably set to heal, mine was set to prot so that's why I brought the extra hench healer), Olias or Master of Whispers with [skill]Jagged Bones[/skill] and Koss. When I did this I only had Flesh Golem and Olias was constantly running out of minions. Jagged Bones would probably help a ton. Then grab your favourite set of hench, I took Mhenlo, Devona, Herta and Khim, along with my Brave Lightbringer (3) Mesmer. The main part of her build was [skill]Arcane Echo[/skill], [skill]Echo[/skill], [skill]Lightbringer's Gaze[/skill], the rest was fun domination stuff, empathy, backfire, mistrust, cry of frustration, and resurrection chant.
The thing is Echo, Arcane Echo and Gaze are all unlinked skills, so technically any class can use these, then just toss in 4 other skills and a res and still have all your points to spend. Granted it might not be all that easy for a tank to do this because it costs 40 energy. I suppose they could just go Echo/Gaze rather then the double echo...
I moved in and took the middle (clerics die first) then flagged my heroes in the middle and used the hench to clear. The way it works is simple: Arcane Echo > Echo > Gaze > Echo (the copy from Arcane Echo) > Gaze (from Echo) > Gaze (the copy from Arcane Echo). That's alot of AoE damage to spread around. Also it's good for interrupting the Torment Claws, however I did have Cry of Frustration to stop their attacks in case my Gazes were recharging.

Yeah, I usually kick the crap out of Shiro first as well...mainly because he's easier to pull. Wild Blow is still very important to get rid of Battle Scars as it's Shiro's main way of self-healing...and can be quite devistating to the melee classes. The lich can be a joke. When I took my double echo nuker in there I noticed something, I was getting 200 damage with 16 fire with spells like fireball and meteor, instead of 116. This means he takes extra damage from fire, so burn him good.
Another mission that I find annoying for Master's is Moddok Crevise. Those bloody runners are a pain. I find that a mesmer with imagined burden and arcane echo help alot. It's also good to send an MM, if you have one for the near/left runner since it's less distance for the mob of minions to cover. bungusmaximus
For all these people that can't get into a team with their mesmer: I had one in my team in Dashas Vestibule and I must say the djinns didn't like him very much. Arcane conundrum + several interrupts works wonders on these pricks

As much as I love my mesmer, Broadhead Arrow from a longbow outside the agro circle is so effective.
Effendi Westland
Gate of Pain and gate of madness. Aggro too much, or in the wrong place and game over
Sofonisba
I have only done Jennur's twice: once for prot title, and once to help someone else out. I avoided it like the plague on all my other chars. Nundu Bay is so easy!
The one that's funny to me, is Dzagonur Bastion. I always get masters when I do it alone, but for some crazy reason, whenever I try to help others through, I'm the kiss of death. It might be because the heroes follow me much quicker when I'm leeroying than real people do in that mish. balthazars hero
I also agree on Gate of Pain mission. Those darn meteor showers
DeXyre
dzagonur is the only one i couldn't do master with heroes/hench so i guess that's the hardest one for me

You may have noticed that the spawned groups get larger as you progress through the mission, the # of spawns in the patrols is tied to # of dead Harbingers. So if you leave the first 2, you have 2 fewer Margerinites to fight every patrol.
- Tain -
If you know what you're doing nothing in PvE is hard, but I think wiki-ing everything sucks the fun out of it. I love going in clueless, getting my @ss kicked, then setting builds and raping everything in sight on the second try.
So, I'd say the missions that are the hardest at the point where you get to them are Grand Court of Sebelkeh and Dzagonur Bastion. Unless, like I said, you do research ahead of time and farm LB for Grand Court or set up a nice split for Dzagonur. Karlos
Ok, here's my list of missions with a degree of difficulty in them:
1) Gate of Madness: While it IS henchable and it IS easy to skip certain fights that many people don't know about, it's still the mission that can a) wipe you out the easiest and b) benefits the most from having other human players with a dedicated skill set, instead of just a generic PvE skill set. 2) Ruins of Morah: The second part with the demon spawns and Commander Varesh nailing one of your party members over and over. Even with flagging, hero aggro can still pull more demon spawns, and Varesh is just brutal in that mode especially when QZ goes up and your hero henchies start starving for energy. 3) Grand Court of Sebelkheh and Dzagonur Bastion: Only if you care about bonus. If you just want to get the mission done, you will fairly easily. Grand Court's bonus is doable with henchies but requires great execution and a bit of luck. Bastion's Bonus with heroes and flagging is also tricky but doable. Everything after that is VERY doable with careful aggro and observance of enemy patterns. For example, a MAJOR mistake people do in Dasha is engage the 3 bosses at the end together when they can each be pulled separately. Likewise, people going into the Gate of Pain mission without preparing interrupts for the Dryders. Karlos
With regards to Jennur's Horde: If you anchor your heroes (spread out so they can pull the group whether they sneak from the left or the right) and go run the crystals, you'll be fine, especially with an MM hero. I've gotten masters fairly easily with that setup while killing every harbinger along the way. Your heroes (especially with an MM) can take them on as long as you make sure they don't "miss" them.

i think gate of madness was just annoying as heck.
Grand Court of Sebelkeh comes in a close second. the first time i beat this with nothing but heros and henches took me around 30 mins ( i was new to the game). what's annoying is that some people just do not know what to do. honestly they stay at the cross way when i'm telling them to get into the center so they can't take it. but of course they don't listen and bam game over. strcpy
Dzoganur Bastion for me - I either get masters or fail every time. It usually takes one or two tries to get it. There tends to be a certain element of luck if herowaying the mission - at least with any of the builds I use (usually with where the different groups go, some formations I can react quickly enough too).
Irritating would have to be Tihark Orchard, not only do I not know many emotes but the ones I do know are not ranger ones. I spend something like 20 minutes trying to beat the mime, nothing like a long string of guitars, flutes, and dancing with one left and it is a "WTF?" (a few I *still* do not know what they are as I have never gotten them correct in 5 characters through it, if I get them I just click him and start over). I've only bothered with two characters through Nightfall so far and both got through Gates of Madness fairly easy, though I figure a class or two of mine will have a royal PITA and the first time I did it was a VERY fast party wipe. trekkie dude
what i did was i had that emote card and if i see one that i have no idea what it is i start typing stuff in that "looks" like it (after losing of course) and see which one it was for future reference.

IMO, all the NF missions that I've done (I just finished Gate of Pain), have been henchable. Some were easier that others, some just took a long time or were annoying (*cough* Jennur's Horde *cough*). The only one that's bugging me atm is Dzoganur Bastion. I chose Margrid over Master of Whispers (because I chose Sousuke over Jin, because I had Olias and I wouldn't lose a necro... if you get what I mean). The only problem is that I only get 1 person +3 heros, and that this person somehow confuses 'stay back and kill the patrols', with 'rush 2 bosses at once and get your ass spiked by the ele boss'. If anyone can help plz whisper me lol. IGN - Marty Silverblade.

I completed the first mission in the Realm of Torment, then I got stuck on the main quests... They are just far too hard.
I mean just fighting the margonites. After the first mob there's about 30% DP or something... Impossible to hench, and PUG's are much worse. bungusmaximus
You can run the most quests in torment. If you have trouble with the one making skills cost 40% more, take eve the blood hench and olias as battery along. Don't take any eles if u can avoid them, or pimp their build a bit. 40% of a 25 energy meteor shower gets a little pricy
Oh yeah, and avoid groups with more then 3 rain of terrors in it :P Margonites like to hug together too, actually they are quite slow and stupid, interrupts work fine on these sorcerers. Take enough physicals too because the clerics carry spell breaker Jaceb
Yeah to survive in torment, take it slowly & observe groups pathing and most important thing, pull them to you rather than going to them. Most groups have patrol paths that overlap.
Decide whether the group is too bad to take on ie.. too many Rain of Terrors & Arm of Insanity will make things.. bad . Any other combination should be easier, just watch out for adds. Specially in Domain of Pain. Ouchies...i still wipe in there, yes, very easily. Just try it, go in there from Gate of Fear and the first room is littered with Menzes & popups. Damage from them & damage from using skills, quickest wipe ever. Coming from other direction it's so much easier, except the menzes room if you need to get to Gate of Fear. I'd say Jennur's Horde is the most difficult mission but exploring Torment is kinda difficult too. Edit: I tried to cap a skill from the titan boss in Domain of Pain, i ended up wiping so much it's not even funny . Sprites
i've heroes all missions , but i'd say gate of madness and dzagornur bastion (really a pain du master it with hench/pug)
