Corpselooter

Now to get Factions.
Now to get Factions.
jammerpa
I have Razah on my SS.. taking Olias as MM, Razah as offensive spirit spammer and Zhed as Sandstorm ele, I'm a very proficient pve killing machine.

I think there are two camps here.
1) People who are upset that to get the only Rt hero in all three games requires either 80k in cash or between 8 and 20 hours farming/questing DoA (depending on luck, skill and drops). You certainly aren't wrong there.
2) People who liked to parade around with a less comon hero (me), or really really needed a Rt hero, who are now upset that the prestige of getting Razah will be deminished.
Many people say that getting Razah isn't hard just time consuming or expensive, but then buying a Ferrari isn't hard, it's just expensive. So I like to think of Razah as the Ferrari of my hero set, at least for another week and a half anyway when the rest of my charictars will get him.
To those that say he isn't hard to get, have you tried to do The Foundry of Failed Creations to get your Titan Gem? I can't really think of anything much harder PvE in the game! Especially with a PUG.
I'm not so bothered by this update now anyway, since I've read up a bit on Hard Mode and will be looking forward to getting Gaurdian of Tyria/Cantha/Elona on my monk which will then get me KoaBD :-) that last 2% of map has been killing me.

Of course, I spent that money on armor and skills, but still.

Post the build please because I'd love to see this. I've tried several variations of a restoration rit, but none are as good as a pure healing monk. |
Mend Body and Soul
Spirit Light
Soothing Memorys/Ghostmirror light/Wielders Boon
Attuned Was Songkai/Mighty Was Vorizun
Vengeful Weapon/Weapon of Warding/Vital Weapon
Life/Preservation
Recuperation/Recovery
Desired Rez skill
pure heal monks might have a edge with Divine Favor, but, rits can do things they cant, like, recuperation, bit meh for cost and recharge, not mobile, but, its a AOE mending.
Recovery, at 12+ resto, it HALVES condition durations, AOE on party of course.
Sprit light is probably the best five energy heal thats not a elite skill
Songkai makes great emanagement, itreduces energy cost by nearly 30-40 # same with vorizun somewhat, but vorizun adds armor on top of energy poll boost. it adds armor
Life is your mobile spirit to fulfil conditional boosts for spells that require spirit, just keep in aggro bubble and your set, also typicly does a partywide heal party every 20 seconds.
with the spirit platforms, health sac from spirit light is gone, mend condition clears more condtions that recovery doesnt erase, with whatever ashpot ypu use soothing is more e-manage.
you can swap out one of the heal skills for wielders boon for heals on top of weapon spells, vital weapon has a good duration and its a spammable 130+ health cap to your party, and its not strippable.
its not just the pure healing, its the bonuses, kinda like protection monks.
the bonuses that rit healers give on top of the pure healing can EASLY be as good or better then the typical heal monk, but, you should think of things in terms of party synergy and area aswell.
rits can walk over any pve condtion heavy area and keep your alive party far better then a monk.
And, you, I, or someone else probably can find or make better variants with the skillpool.
And, Being a monk, im aquanited with the differences between the classes, and, every class has a edge in things that dont overlap with other classes, such as rits extra effects, or monks Divine Favor, and such.
davicams
i really like being able to get him on my other chars

getting Razah with the old quest wasn't that hard; I like having this hero for a nice mantle piece. Hope i get an Armbrace for that coffer for the real mantle piece.

And I said this before, but I'll say it again anyway, thanks for the Hard Mode that is coming too! All sounds very fun. |
I don't want to buy everything. I have collector (Prophecies) armor on my ELE because I worked for it and like the way it looks. And it has the base stats that all inscribable ele armor does.
However, I am not a grinder and am a bit more than casual player but not much. I like playing all of the classes and I would not have much chance of getting Razah with a group thanks to the narrow minded and uninventive people that will not take anything but cookie cutter builds.
In fact, when I have a build they want I usually won't join their groups because they just really tick me off and are wanting to follow a pattern to 'win' - boring.

This is good.
The previous set up was problematic:
- It required many live players (can take a lot of time to find a group even with an active guild)
- Was long to accomplish
- The only way (other than buying gems from others who have done the above) to get the Hero. Other items like Ugoz bow - have many of the same characteristics but are in many ways not as "unique" and character specific as a "hero".
Hard quests and missions are fine - to a point.
Long quests and missions are fine to a point.
Quests and missions that require live players are fine too - to a point.
Rare rewards for completion are fine as well.
However the fundemental flexibilty of a hero is different than a wepon reward and should not be the combination of all of the above. After all I can have a great weapon - maybe just not that "skin" from elsewhere - even assembling one from collectors and other pieces. Not quite the same for the hero.
I did the Factions Elite Missions a few times but they are inconvenient usually to my time..... I usually play in short bursts and I don't usually have a lot of patience to build a large goup of "real players", hate it when one or more real players leave (or get disconnected) especially in a long quest/mission. Fissure and Underworld as "elite - must be ascended areas" have many of the same issues.....
So this is good. Have quests like this sure - but separate them from getting "heros" - make the rewards for completion things like weapons or elite armor (no better functionally please)........
Somewhat in that regard it would be great if a character can reasonably/fairly close to be expected to achieve a goal within the quests and rewards. Vabbian armor seems a bit out of whack.... How many trade contracts can one character earn? How many are required to be exchanged for enough sapphires and rubies? Not sure about the math - but can a set of 4 characters (four being what one GW chapter comes with) earn enough trade contracts to buy one set of armor? - This isn't so bad though - there is other max armor of different style.
A really "cool" piece of armor elite armor could be a reward for completion of a really tough quest. Armor being customized for a player.......

So I welcome a Razah quest that's a reward for finishing Nightfall, and not a reward for putting up with DoA. There are plenty of other rewards for putting up with DoA including a number of unique weapons, I believe.
Finishing Nightfall in itself is hardly instant gratification...

It is a good thing to work for something, you should not simply be handed everything you want. I have no problem with them adding this, as I have said. I even think they handled it well by creating the other quest. I have a problem with people whining about it being too hard. |
Thank you ANet.
For those people who have the time to take the abuse and do DoA - well done.

I'm fine with a change like this, but I hate to see it being changed because people were whining about it being too hard. I could see whining about DoA being hard, yeah it is a pain in the a$$. Yeah I could see people complaining about it being too hard to acquire the gems without buying them."

Thank you! I have been having a problem with this with some of by chars have trouble with groups that don't think that char would be handy to have around.

I don't think people who have Razah now are uber cool. I think they are kids with too much time on their hands.
Get a job. Get a life. Then you'll understand.

I still say teenage Gwen is wearing a monk outfit.
It's loosely draped like a monk outfit, not sharply tailored like mesmer armor; it's got the vest-with-camisole combo that every monk outfit has; it has the pants-with-skirt combo that almost every monk outfit has.
On the mesmer side, it's green and she's got tall boots.
But Gwen had monk spells and admired mesmer outfits. I think she just has a monk outfit, that's been mesmerized a little. Or maybe she's an Mo/Me.

Good move i say!

Hmm weirdly enough, I still get Finding A Purpose from Phyra... Anyone? I haven't paid the gemstones but have talked to the Keeper before.

Is this update out yet? If not then do we have any idea when it will be?
What with Anet annoucing this, hard mode, storage upgrades and a different event everyweek, I have lost track on what has actually been released.

Yeah the plans are being announced but I haven't seen any announcements of when these things will actually be implemented. All you get is "a few weeks" or "soon".

Thy heart is true and thy update is worthy of my commendation, dear Gaile. Thy honourable deed shalt be remembered by all.
