hey, i just came back and i want to start chestrunning for SWS again (in Tasca's), i used to do that a long time ago, but i lost all builds, so i was wondering if any1 could give me some advice for running there. I know every1 want to see some SWS pop up

Picked a few up from there when I feel like running it, but nothing usable yet. Its quick and casual, but sometimes you can get a no chest run, but very rarely. Just use a standard Shadow Form build really.Ive been running this, Hells and Raisu Palace recently. Might do something crazy like 500+ Dry Top runs for some q8 Long Sword action

Yellow dots are basically the chests with most likely hood to spawn, green spawn some times, and blue ones spawn hardly ever and are very unlikely to even be stone summit chests. Each run is about 2-2:30~ mins and quite straight forward. I do it in NM, and tried it in HM, but wow, it really was hard haha xD Get some good drops, and for me, awesome retain rate!  Im mainly doing this run in the hopes of a lovely oldschool Warlord Shield, but my hopes arent that high I hope you like it! |

tascas is one of those areas where you won't get much breathing space due to the compactness.
i remember 8 wamos running that area back in the day with the titan quest.
a bunch of prot skills with fallbacks/incoming etc should be the best way.

I found my first golden Echovaldshield yesterday in a chest. Unfortunately req13 and single mod. But a few hours later I was farming with my 55 necro and got a nice oldschool Healing Ankh req 9 dualmod +58 while hexed and +1 healing spells 19%. At least two usable mods on one item. Shame they are 3 points off.
And I found some nice low req dualmod max Forbidden Staffs while chest running Raisu. But only wiered combinations.

I just came back a few weeks ago and did a few runs. Got a usable +1 20% earth/-2 enchanted SWS.

I have some questions based also on chest running, mainly for Outcast Shields
Also, i had some nice loots outside the Harvest Temple (chests around outcasts), but are there any more or even efficient(er) place's too farm those kind of Outcast items?.

If you go out of Seafarers Rest and BIP yourself to death with more Faction points of the towns opposing faction, you will spawn in the middle of the map with like 1-2 chests directly round you. Sometimes you get no chest spawns, but for the most part it works.

ive tried to find the dwarves one around chests w/ stone summit but no luck.

trolls & giants ive tried through the droks route but to no luck

Can't wait to get back into chest running again after a long break from gw1. Just curious what was the best place to get dragon staves? I'm pretty certain it was in a Luxor area with some assassin quest?
And for pongmei valley and echo valid forest could somebody kindly link me the maps they use or maps that have already been posted? Highly appreciate it!

only one with semi decent mods was q11 tactics with -2 w/ench and 20% daze reduction. My search will continue for a dragon staff!

i actually do the run in hardmode. give me a shout if u see me in game i will show u how i do it.

Im wondering but its just pure speculation my brain made up.
Does attribute's suffix calculation (to be applied on the shield),
also gets influenced if it drops around specific caster groups?
(Like ele/monk and mesmer/necro) or is that pure a fact of math and luck?
(i.e getting Shields from chests near particly/full caster enemys like Rott Wallow packs in Pongmei Valley, and Ice Elementals & Imps outside of Ice Caves of Sorrow)

I know from personal experience that SWS's also tend too drop alot from Chests in the mission Thunderhead Keep.
Each mission contains 3-5 chests, time spend finding them varys.
The only downside from this is that u need too prevent that King Jalis Ironhammer doesn't die throughout the mission.
I usually do that with heroes and just gank through mobs, and flag them out of compass when opening chests.
However i haven't tried running him out of compass (Jalis) at the start in order too "stuck" him since he's scripted too follow a certain pathing if a player is in range. Togo in the mission Zen Daijun has some sort of Same mechanic, and the method above can be applied here succesfully on Zen Daijun.
So too keep It short, give yourself a shot at it :P

and THK let alone any mission is not efficient at hunting chests with few exceptions, the point of chest RUNNING is to skip the bs and get straight to the chest.

If anyone would like to join and run together i leave my IGN: Damy Rade. I'm mostly running kurzik areas since I'm quite lazy to do missions to unlock cities on luxon site. (but if there was anyone who prefer run them i would do it). Cheers.
Ps. Any ideas how to run past big groups of dredges? They remove stances, have knockdown and interrupts. I usually die when chest spawns near them (in morostov trial)

1. Step = Move in with "IAU!"
2. Step = Open Chest + Pick up crappy drop^^
3. Step = Dwarven Stability + Dash = 6 Sec. Ultra Fast Mode.... No enemy will follow you.
That works pretty much everywhere for me.
Also you should take "Can't touch this!" with you on a hero.
When active the warriors can't knock you down with "Shove".
Works pretty nice against Rot/Fungal Wallows too....

Yeah thx guys. I was running, more secure way with shadow sanctuary in place of rush and didn't have a breaking agro skill. I found Mourning Veil Falls quite fast and comfortable area to run and got mine first Goth there. Got some gothics and echovald in pogmei also, but I have theory that they drop there more likely in purple quality.

Hard mode basically turns all areas into the same chance to drop more golds.

Purples : 256 (with 51 armors)

Shield of the Wing, Aegis, Defender, Tower Shield (I've dropped a q8/16 in nm 3 days ago), Estamped Aegis, Crude Shield (but not sure), Renforced Buckler, Ornate Buckler, and maybe some others.
I do the same stats in hm but with one or more player, cause I feel the drop quality is less than in solo. For the moment I've opened 450 chests in duo+.
Further, with +2 players, the first opening have a chance to drop x tomes (reg or elites) in the same chest (x = number of player). In that event, all of the other players will open an empty chest. It's a bug wich can be profitable... or not ^^.

takes some time to practice untill u can do it fast but nice drop rate imo.
had a few white ravers and ascalon war hammers there
