Thanks so much for the responses

Will I find the routes in this thread for Silent Surf and Pongmei?

Note for that Silent Surf map I made: a circle means any mob within that circle can spawn a chest.

Also, if you want the best chest/time ratio in silent surf, I would recommend finishing WoC until there are no more afflicted in the area (Cleansing Silent Surf I think it is), because it means that you can completely skip the alternative route, since it will no longer spawn any chests, meaning you will almost always get 4-5 chests, and very very rarely only 3.

yeh it does, everything in the echovald forest drops it, exceptions are plagueborn mobs & luxon mobs.

Does the yellow dots on the pongmei run means where the chances of a chest might spawn?

Are most of these chest runs done in nm or hm? Nm would clearly be easier but would hm produce greater chances at max mods?

yes it's the possible chest's spawn (you've 5 chests on the map)

Whatway => you can do both, in HM you've more golds, elites tomes and better chance to have max mods (but you can have max mods in nm too)

Good to know. Between a sin and war, which is most versatile for running? I'm leaning towards sin for perma SF and better energy regen, but war's higher armor & damage reduction insigs are pretty attractive too.

Sin without a doubt is better... I'd argue that Dervish's are the best due to the perma 50% speed boost.

In your case though sin>war. SF supplies you with an ability to simply ignore groups by running through them as opposed to having to run around them.

warriors are just as good and almost as fast as sins, the problem comes down to energy regen.

and you can carry sf on your warrior.

Some inspiring moments during MQSC has me testing MQ for chestrunnability on my sin, which has been pretty fun (the pvx drok's runner build is actually fairly good for it). When I'm good enough to post meaningful/consistent times and average chest numbers, I will.

Remembering that I do have a derv, what skills are granting perma-50%? I'd love to take a VoSilence derv through some of these more common chest runs if I can do it that much faster. SF is spoiling me.

dstab & pious haste & teardown = up to permanent +50% ims

Since all that is in mysticism, you could still take SF and other shadow art skills like HoS, etc.

So something like:

Myst 12+1, SA 12, +20% enchant weapon

1 - Deadly Paradox
2 - Shadow Form
3 - <Derv Teardown Enchant>
4 - Pious Haste
5 - Dwarven Stability
6 - Heart of Shadow
7 - Shroud of Distress*
8 - Way of the Master*
*Replace one with IAM?

So I'd only need a low-energy, fast cooldown flash enchant. Good candidates to me look like Aura of Thorns (earth, area cripple), Conviction (earth, condition removal), Zealous Renewal (myst, e-management), and Grenth's Fingers (wind, condition transfer). Grenth's Aura seems like a good heal but is expensive. Shield of Force looks fun, but is also expensive.

Time to test I suppose.

replace deadly paradox with shadow of haste, replace way of the master with iau, conviction would be good

No perma SF + perma +50%? Or just use SF situationally?

I have 20 lockpicks and I don't care about loot. I just want the Unlucky title (1000 points shy). Should I go for Whitman? I get about 100 when I break a lockpick, so I wouldn't run dry with them.

Nevermind, just got Unlucky on Witman's. In my opinion it was faster than Pongmei noting that I only wanted Unlucky, I'm not assassin (and I didn't have the running build) nor I cared about drops. I get about 25 points on Unlucky on Pongmei while Witman's gave about 100.

The map doesn't matter for how many lucky/unlucky points you win

Doesn't Witman have Shiverpeaks Chests in NM? Shiverpeaks Chests have 30% retention rate + the bonus from Treasure Hunter and Lucky (both 1, so the bonus is 15%), so 2.5x(30+15)= 112,5 Unlucky.

Isn't that the correct formula? 2.5 x (A + B), A is Chest's retention rate and B is inherent retention rate.

Anyone got a "new" chestrun in ascalon area HM?
Trying to get more "Wooden Bucklers" and "Round Shields" for my collection.... so i thought Ascalon HM should be a good area to get some.
If anyone got another idea on which chestruns i could get a lot of those feel free to let me know =)
cheers

That dropped from the chests in Pongmei, it happens all the time. It's nothing special, at all. You can get purples up to q8 11-21 20% HSR from those chests, I have a screen of one on my comp, but Imgur is screwing me, so can't upload it. It's somewhere in the high-low req thread as well.

Yeah, I knew you could get req 8 from chests in NM but didn't know you could get them in HM as well as it was the first time for me getting one

Here, finally was able to upload it. Well, didn't try after last time I posted, but now Imgur wasn't acting up.

Got this in Pongmei HM as well. The base stats are the best you can find on a q8 staff now.

I could tell you how to read... This question has been asked twenty times in this thread alone already.

Short answer: Pongmei HM

Long answer: look for it

How does a pongmei HM is going to help me make lucky points, when it has 10%RR ?

NM pongmei has 40%
Starting areas of the campaigns - Ascalon, Istan, Shing Jea has more than 40%. And that is the answer

I apologize for my rude answer, I actually read your first post as being 'I have much more Lucky points than Unlucky'. You are correct in being mad at me, and I'll try to read better next time

As to where farming Lucky will be better, the early starting areas indeed have higher retention rates, but a lot less chests. Too be honest, if you want to run an area in NM, I'd go for Silent Surf, or -and I hate saying this- Boreal Station, because at least these two still give you treasure hunter points. Pongmei NM would be great for Lucky, but also won't give you treasure points. It does have a minimal chance of dropping q8 Echovalds though :P
