i dont really care about the treasure hunter title... i just want the wisdom maxed... i'd think best to do that is running NM noob places (shing jea, ascalon, istan?) with lockpicks (extremely high retain rate) just for the golds...
does any1 know where i'd best do this?

I got some stupid questions:
Are chest drops in tyria and cantha non inscribable?
If so, whats the point of chest running there besides farming points?
Is it even worth it? I mean what rare items that sell well can you chest run?

Yes Canthan and Tyria chests yield uninscribable items. Honestly (and this is just personal opinion) I'd take an uninscribable item over an inscribable just because...well, I don't rightly know why. The drops you get the majority of the time aren't worth the cost of a lockpicks and often even he corresponding key. However, if and when you find that special and rare item, you feel like it's all worth it.

Anyone got a good chestrunning path for low end chests?

and in my opinion generally req8s have better chance dropping from 450g-750g chests in NM and i dont think they ever drop from HM chests
ReZDoGG
Chest running Inscribable stuff is good if you want to make alot more money back, as you can sell perfect inscriptions and mods that prophecies and factions don't have.
I also found that chest running First level in Cathedral of Flames in NM is pretty good... You can get 1-2 chest in lil over a minute. You can also get some decent skins, along with perf mods... and if you want, you can take LoD and get the treasure chest worth 100-150g, which can lead up to some constant profit and in return lowering money spent on lockpicks.

build/skills to use? There's a lot of badies on the way.
I guess some sort of Deadly Paradox + Shadow Form build and some speed buffs
are in order, right?
I tried one of those mentioned in this thread but I always end up in the middle
of mobs when SF ends.. they really don't like to break aggro.

Anonymous Chest Runner
In response to the Mirror of Lyss chest run posted here:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...0&postcount=68
I am also a big fan of this run. Chests always spawn with an associated mob group (at least in this run; I can't confirm that in general). Vabbi is really wide open and its mob groups are spread out, allowing chest runners to view groups from afar and encounter only groups with associated chests (you don't have to worry about aggro'ing unnecessary groups that path through each other). Furthermore, the large Grand Court in the middle of the map cuts down significantly on area needed to explore, since there are no mobs and hence no chests.
For players that don't necessarily have the classes/skills to solo chest run without harm, I have an alternate route that I can suggest. I'm an Elementalist primary and generally bring a party of 8 (heroes + henchies) with several heroes (and myself) with Charge. I can make a few suggestions for improvements on the run path posted. This is just my own opinion, of course.
1) My run actually starts from Mihanu Township. That route near the end of blackest monk's chest run (after passing Mihanu Township) will force a player into encounters with several groups in a narrow chokepoint. That can be cut out altogether.
2) Starting from the Township, I run the western portion of the posted run in reverse of blackest monk's. Rather than running through several mob sets in the southwest portion, I run westward in that open area in the left-middle portion of the map (allowing me to avoid mobs I don't like), and then follow it south a bit. You can view 4 mob groups and potential chests from afar by holding down Ctrl (or was it Alt?). If you don't see anything you like, then you backtrack.
3) I have a forced encounter with a group of Mirage Ibogas + Enchanted Brambles at a choke point (my only forced encounter) west of the res shrine where blackest monk's path ends, and then proceed east to the res shrine itself. I view a mob group north from a distance (fight it if it's got a chest), and then proceed south, joining blackest monk's path. I end up avoiding the small town area in the southwest, which has no mobs or chests.
4) The southern part of my run is identical to blackest monk's run, and then near Honur Hill, I follow the dirt path north to where a mob group is on top of a hill. Along the way, I hold down Ctrl to view another couple of groups east of the rock. After viewing the group on top of the hill (west of Ahjii the merchant), I move eastward, past the merchant, and then view another two groups. There is usually a bit of space between the pathing of these two groups, so I continue north, viewing another group close to the entrance of Dzagonur Bastion.
I end up with just the one forced encounter, viewing 29 mob groups along the way. I average a little more than 4 chests per run.

I just started chest running in snowmen's lair yesterday. I think it's a good place to chest run because there are lots of differents skins, upgrades, ... and at least 4 chests to open. A run take about 4 min, including killing the foe holding the boss key (1-2 more chest).
Wilderness Survival : 12+1+3
Protection : 12
Expertise : 3+3
[skill]Storm chaser[/skill][skill]Shield of regeneration[/skill][skill]"I am unstoppable!"[/skill][skill]Feel no pain[/skill][skill]Balthazar's spirit[/skill][skill]Protective bond[/skill]
Use a bow and superior runes on all pieces of armor. One piece must have a +5 life insigna (not mandatory), you must have 110 or 105 hp. Start the run by dying, you should have 33 or 38 hp. Cast boths enchants and maintains storm chaser at all cost.
You can get the boss key faster using the ebon assassin skill. You can get some additional drop luring mobs in ice traps.
Happy chest running

And as to the question of HM aggro, if it wasn't answered earlier, you need a running boost of >33% to break the aggro of many monsters I believe, so the best thing to do is run as far as you can under a 25% or 33% speed boost, then use Dash to break aggro. Works for me every time, almost lol.

Wow. So uhh, Mirror of Lyss drops insane numbers of serpentine reavers. 2 dropped in 2 runs...

Hexer's Vigor is a super Shadow Refuge. N/A with Shadow Form is simply the easiest way to do it.
