Very nice job suckering most of the GW pop with this hard mode.

(Seriously though, this is a pure compliment towards you, some how you made a miracle)

This is a random praise thread towards the update right

No, it's a thank you from "casual" solo-farmers for Anet bending over.

Why are "Casual" farmers thanking Anet for anything? They still have nerfed drops on whites, blues, purples, collectables, salvagable items, materials and coin drops. If you're only a "Casual" farmer and don't have hours to stand in a trade city spamming WTS WTS WTS, then these are quite likely a large source of your income.

It's disappointing Anet caved in so very quickly to the single player whiners. This must be the fastest change back I've seen (in PvE) in almost 2 years.

It's a pity more wasn't done to instead properly reward teamplay. Sadly the single player mentality has been growing for many, many months and now it seems to be the norm. I'd like to have seen something which didn't penalise people's play styles (either way) but at least properly rewarded teamplay... which is what is lacking these days. Oh well, pity single player people don't stay offline where they belong. Flame all you like, I'm tired of seeing the once great coop game I liked a lot turned into "single player with optional coop" it is today. Thanks for listening to single player whiners over the months.

Nothing like showing your knowledge and wisdon of the game is there?

I for one will never understand the need of some people, ESPECIALLY in games with an RPG slant to them, which are designed from the ground up to allow players the freedom to play HOW THEY CHOOSE, to tell others how they should or should not play the game.

Especially when the only impacts it has (such as lowering the price of greens across the board, you can thank us A/E soloers for that) are generally liked by the playing community.

Sad and pathetic isn't it? The attitude that you or someone has the "right way to play" and everyone else must conform to it. Especially in a game with 10 different classes and over 1000 unique skills...

I also, admire your continued support and enhancements of the game.

Thank you for listening and while I may not agree with everything you change. I also really enjoy this game over many others (and I like to play several games - no all MMOPG)

Keep up the good work and thank you for listening on the drop issue. I would like to believe it was a bug that got through QA

I have been playing since May 2005. 2 accounts and over 4000 hrs of play. I consider myself a GW addict. I enjoy playing with friends, guildies, although I admit I am not overall looking forward to playing with pugs. I also enjoy playing solo builds. It's a challenge, it's fun, I have equipped my heroes with the greens I want. Soloing has not made me a millionaire, it has just allowed me to get things I wanted : armor, runes, greens, ectos...

When months ago the 55 nerf came about, the first one, I was not very happy but I moved on, I didn't complain. When the second biggest solo nerf came out with the adjusted AI and foes scattering, I was not very happy but I moved on , I didn't complain. When all different skill nerfs came about, some times I wasn't too happy, but I moved on, and never complained. I love this game THAT much.

Yesterday, I was stunned and pretty angry. I loved or looked forward to 95% of the update, but it was all ruined because all I could think about was the solo drop rate nerf. I still didn't complain, but I was very serisouly considering it. For the first time since I started playing, I was really disappointed with ANET.

So ANET, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! I can now play the game the way I like to play it, with my friends, or alone if that's what I chose. Oh, and I can now REJOICE with the elite skill title split, WHOOO HOOOO, I no longer feel like a Dork for going after a non-maxable title, now it's campaign specific!!!

oh snap wait a minute, I am a Dork, oh well...

thanks again,
have fun everybody!!

You're old enough to have a fiance yet all that was in 1 giant sentence? Lol sorry, couldn't help it.

ON WITH THE TOPIC...

Yesterday morning I was severly upset by loot scaling, then when I came home around 10:30 I was real happy to see certain items were exempted from the list. You also surprised me again by giving us 15k Knights!

Thanks Anet, you re-gained 1 loyal customer.

Because I want the challenge of soloing perhaps?

Because PUGs frequently are worse then AI henchmen?

Because my guild isn't on 24/7 because we all have lives?

Because any number of reasons which shouldn't even be an issue. There is a party screen. It goes from 1 (you) to 8 (full party) and any number in between.

Who are you to tell me how many people I should take? Or how I should play the game? By my saying that options should remain open and FAIR equivalent to the level of challenge undertaken, I am not in any way affecting the way YOU play. Nor do I care how you play.

So why are you and so many others in such a hurry to condemn the way I and others play? Is it just arrogance? Enlighten me.

where is the challenge in makeing an invincible char (whose build you got from the Internet) and keeping to do the same thing over and over?

Maybe pugs would be better if guild wars players would start playing instead of farming all the time?

because everybodey does it and that ruins the game! There arent any good pugs beacause all the exp. players solo-farm, prices go down for earlyer lucky drops that are easy to farm and skyrockets for everything you cant, it makes a lot of things totally pointless

My farming character has died many times, and getting to the farming spot can be dangerous and exciting. Also, your argument is invalid, since many people have multiple characters across three campaigns, missions and quests ALSO constitute doing the same thing over and over.

I see plenty of people in mission outposts, and have tried PUGing myself many times. No matter how many times I PUG, the quality never seems to increase. Are you actually implying that the majority of PUGs suck because there are too many solo farmers who are somehow bringing down the skill level of non-farmers? And here I thought us solo farmers were a small but vocal minority?

SO the plethora of solo farmers according to you are ruining PUGs? Well if the game's quests and missions were so great, and the rewards better than farming, wouldn't all these experienced solo farmers be forming AWESOME PUGs?

And how does it ruin the game for prices on greens to drop, making them affordable to non-farmers who rarely see greens? Until I started solo farming with my A/E, I NEVER received a green drop, in over 500 hours of playing.

Without farmers, high value items would be even RARER, making them even further out of reach of the average player. Sorry, but your arguments just don't hold water. You need to understand how supply and demand works in a dynamic (sort of) economy before commenting on how people increasing supply makes demand go up...

Well it sure wasn't what we asked in mesmer threads! We asked SMART mobs groups with protection and healing. Not ultra fast mobs that you cannot interrupt and do ultra damage ultra fast, because this only makes teams want more monks (and there isn't enough even at the moment).

Thanks for NOT listening, and doing it the Arenanet-way, again. But that's what you are famous of: we-know-better-attitude.

you seriously compare playing a full grown campaign to learning a farm-run and repeating it? Would you buy a game featuring only what you do in solo-farming?

Solo-farmers sure aint no minority and i dont see many pugs going to UW for example... YES the quality of pugs would increase simply because there are more players to choose from, its only "take what you can get" nowadays

The rewards are okay its just that soloing gives better rewards and therefore has to go!

Gold would also be rarer lowering prices! You cant see that? Also green prices wouldnt be so low even you can hardly get them without farming

Who said farmers dont want to play with others? Just cause farmers take the initiative and get their own income fast, and YOU arent, what make non-farmers think you have the right to say anything? Youre all just jealous, and always say they are ruining the game with no good excuse for it. Start making your own food man.

No I wouldn't, which is why I bought Guild Wars. It allows me to play as I see fit, when I want. Just like it allows you to play as you want. You seem to think I ONLY solo farm.

It has been asserted in MANY threads on the subject that yes, farmers are indeed a minority. And the quality of MOST PUGs would not increase, because all of the experienced solo farmers would only play with other experienced solo farmers, because who wants to play with a bunch of incompetents?

Why should something that rewards ingenuity, skill and timing be removed? I can solo masters most mission by Ctrl+Shift+Space my selected party of Heroes and Henches. I cannot do that when farming. Soloing SHOULD give better rewards because the math is simple, 1 Player doing the work of 8 should receive 8 times the rewards. Unless you're a union member or devout socialist.

Most people want gold for one of two things, to get prestige armor (the materials for it or simply crafting cost), or to buy super rare items. In the case of the former, if gold is rare but the price of armor remains static, then the actual value of the armor skyrockets. In the case of the latter, people will always desire rare skins, so while the ACTUAL price of a sword may drop from 100k to 20k, if gold is 5 times as hard to come by, nothing has really changed.

I'm unsure what you meant about greens, suffice to say that without solo farming, you'd still be paying 50-75k for totem axes, instead of 5k.
