I eventually got this doen with masters on my 4th try, by turning Melonni into a SS necro, with Zhed set up as a SF Ele and Tahlkora set up as a mixed healing/proto monk and lastly my ranger skilled out with posion arrow and attack speed buffs.

Bah! Rurik needs something akin to pet controls.

Working my butt off keeping him alive during Ruins of Surnia, only one death in group (SS, SF ele, Prot Mo and Koss on interrupt) as I approached and cleared out the obelisks Rurik still behind the drawbridge.

I then opened the bridge and nodded in agreement as he suggested we leave the large group of Char alone (I'd left these, a few too many I felt) and decided to type in Guild chat that Rurik was actually making a useful suggestion for once and, as I was laughing at the response I was getting, watched in horror as Ruriks bar turned pink and then the grey bit on the end.

You can guess next thing, windows open all over place as I tried to get to him with the dialogue box open. Death to Rurik, hour and a half careful play wasted and another step up on the learning curve that is hard mode

Not played games for a long time? Something I learned many a year ago: most gamers want rare loot to be rare yet drop like crazy, so expensive only a few can afford it yet cheap enough they can earn the money in a few hours, hard stuff to be a real challenge such that you may have a party wipe at every encounter yet be able to clear the whole game with no death, and to have the hurdles to cross to the next level of content to be *exactly* the place they currently are.
10 points for him. honestly that is perfect, ive been thinking it for ages and you worded it perfectly. thanks
