Woo so many nice shots!

i completely love the Sarah Eleanore's shot, it really does look like she is a half fish, the only thing i would change there is make her waer the 15k druids top which looks like little mermaids "ahem" armor

and Mango, i love your shot, its so pretty.

Judge 3: It's a very pretty shot, but your poses are very safe, first, it was sit, and now its dead, you really need to take a step up. There are plenty of ways to be sleepy and not be dead. in her last shot the emote used was /beg (which btw wasnt used in TNTM yet in last cycle), not /sit (which is indeed a very boring pose and should be banned from TNTM.... lol im kidding).

I think going with being dead was a risky choice, far from safe, because you only get 1 pose to chose from, not many different poses that flash during most emotes. and well, the princess was sleeping, so anything with action in the shot would loose the Sleeping Beauty idea of it, unless its the prince killing the dragon, but that would go in Tntmm.....

You can get more than one pose from being dead, depending on what weapon you are sporting. We had to make it so she did the bow-weilder's death, and disguise it so the bow wouldn't show. I think mango did a good job on that, cause I didn't even notice the bow from simply looking at the pic, and I even knew it was there

EDIT: whoops, just noticed she didnt use the bow-weilder death, me bad ^___^;

I'm very impressed by everybody!

Indeed, Geisha did have a hard, HARD assignment, I thought it was a very creative job. However, I must agree with the judges that it's not very "fashion-y" only because I can't even see her >.<

I enjoyed Arala's very much, same with Lunamaria's. I was a little disappointed with Bierflesjes only because I already saw it in the TNTM feedback thread and wasn't very surprised with it. It's still a nice shot, just lost the suspense.

The more I look at Beyoncee's character, the more I fall in love with her... she's absolutely gorgeous, that armour fits her PERFECTLY.

Mila has a good eye for radiant shots, and her energy is always SO dominant in the shots so far, i'm VERY impressed. You always manage to look the most slender as well.

/Dance can make or break you, and so far, it's working beautifully.

Everyone did brilliantly in this assignment, and it was a fun one to work on! I didnt realise that we were supposed 2 send in Male Model names so for my own guildies recognition; Thankyou to Tifa Shadowheart! I had a great time shooting with him! lol

Here are the scores given by the judges, plus the previous MOTW points and the deductions from not naming your male partners.

Arala Starsong - 08, 06, 07 = 21 - 2 (partial deduction) = 19
Beyoncee Knowlez - 02, 04, 03 = 09 -5 = 04
Bierflesjes Klauw - 05, 03, 04 = 12 - 5 = 07
Geisha Nugra - 01, 02, 01 = 4 - 5 = -01
Lokii Dia - 03, 01, 02 = 6 - 2 (partial deduction) = 04
Lunamaria Cruz - 04, 07, 08 = 19 - 5 = 14
Mila Fox - 07, 11, 10 = 28 - 5 + 3 (MOTW bonus) = 26
Miss Melly - 10, 08, 11 = 29 - 5 = 24
Mojave Mango Juice - 09, 09, 06 = 24
Sarah Eleanore - 06, 10, 05 = 21
Szei Ren - 11, 05, 09 = 25

I applaud those who actually read, understood, and remembered our rules. I do take this competition seriously, and the fact that some of you applied and totally brushed off that whole section in the front really agitated me.

After the deductions, the two top scores belongs to Mila Fox and Szei Ren.

Mila Fox - Your picture was absolutely amazing, the romance between the two characters are portrayed beautifully. However, the fact that you talked badly about your picture, made us question your picture as well.

Szei Ren - The wishful hopes and ambitions that your character displayed truly captured Anastasia's character. However, the divine aura was a mess, and before this competition even began, we talked to you about that and this week-we feel you didn't care to do anything about it.

And the winner of MOTW for Week 2 is...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ess/02MOTW.jpg

Congratulations! For winning MOTW for Week 2, you may pick one of two special prizes...

1. An in game prize of two globs of Ectoplasm.

or

2. A contest prize of three additional points added to your score for the next photoshoot assignment.

Please get with me with your decision to your nearest convinience.

As for eliminations, our two lowest scores are a three way tie with Geisha Nugra, Beyoncee Knowlez, and Lokii Dia.

Geisha Nugra - Again, you did not shine in your shot. Your ambitions got the best of you once again. Although we commend you for such a creative shot, there is no way this would make for a good fashion shot.

Beyoncee Knowlez - This picture was absolute chaos. So many imperfections, so much confusion. There was so much potential for a good shot, the judges and I easily did beautiful shots with the stone gargoyle statues found all over Tyria, and we even went as far as taking pictures with live mobs in the game that look like gargoyles, the stone rain. For you to say that you had no idea what to do really makes us question your creativity.

Lokii Dia - From being one of the top to one of the bottom, just shows how quickly this contest can change. Your picture made for a beautiful scene remade, but lacked the fashion appeal that is needed in this competition.

For two of you, the chance for redemption is there, as for one, the competition ends now...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...limination.jpg

Congratulations to our eliminated contestant for making it this far!

This week, a lot of you really disappointed us, I suggest everyone ask for and review the rules. We are not going to hold your hands through this competition, you need to be on top of your game at all times.

Your next assignment will be assigned shortly, so good luck to everyone, and congrats to our MOTW and to our eliminee.

Congratz again Mila.

Ang Geisha I'm really gonna miss you! You shot I thought was really creative and very Tinkerball. Please please go to the request forum and still send in your pictures.

About the deductions....what are they from exactly? I understand if it was because some of the girls didnt put down the guys names that were in the shots. But I wondering if that isnt, because I did and I got a deduction.

Geisha Nugra I still think your creativity was amazing .. I'm not sure I agree with everything the judges do, I think your creativity can be used to improve yourself. Still as Oogami said, everyone was so great, it was really hard to pick someone probably.

And congrats to both Mila Fox and Szei Ren for being the best (this round)!

:/ Don't know what to say...

Just have one question: When you assigned a character to model after a 4-inch tall fairy that wears a plain as day green slip, what did you expect? There was nothing I felt I could do to keep true to the Tinkerbell assignment and still pull off a "fashiony" shot. I went with my gut and performed the best Tink impression that was possible. Again, I am at a loss for words and would like to hear what you would have done with the shot that was still in the Tink spirit.

And I guess it's too late to say it, but I sent in the actual person playing the male character's name, and not the PC's name. It was really creative too , Peter Pan Model :/

P.S. Thanks for the support everybody. If I feel motivated I'll still post my pictures in the other thread. Keep up the great work everyone and good luck!

Mila : Grats on the MOTW, your picture was gorgeous

Geisha : I loved your picture, I feel you portrayed your character very well. You had a tough assignment. Your picture was definitely one of my favourites from this week. I'm happy we became friends through this competition, and I hope our friendship will grow stronger still. I am and shall always be one of your biggest fans (PS: I agree with Lokii, you need to keep posting pictures )

Alex : Yeah, I discarded the bow-death because the bow wouldnt hide well enough. Thanks for being my wammo, I appreciated the help

In your shot, you have two male models, the ritualist in front and the ranger in the back, you only named the ritualist if we're correct.

Quote: This is the only picture I saw when I browsed through that thread, and it struck me for naught as Tinkerbell. It doesn't maintain the illusion of being Tink for me. Maybe it was the lack of green armour that resembles the slip (easy to come by for an Elementialist) or the crop (which is what I thought my problem was last week and worked hard to fix) but it does nothing for me. Tinkerbell is not big, she is supposed to be small, any of the pictures that I had of a larger scale of Geisha I did not like because they didn't fit the theme.

Again, I would feel completely different if I had not been assigned to be Tink, but there is nothing I can do now.

This is bullshit - Geisha had the best photo of the week, and probably the best photo of this whole cycle - and you kick her out? Bullshit.

I could see if I were kicked out, because I admit my photo was bad but hers was amazing...especially since you gave her little to nothing to work with. Whatever. RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO this competition.

But I personally didn't find hers the "best" (its all subjective, right?) of the week. Yes, it was HARD, but there are MILLIONS of ways to have portrayed tinkerbell. Geisha was creative about it, but utterly lost the modeling aspect of it... besides, its not the end of the world for her.

And i thought I was drama last cycle >.>

Personally, if someone was the center of the picture, but noone cares to look at her, then what is the use? So what does the modeling aspect mean to you? To me, the modelling aspect would be depending on what the creative director (judges in this case) wanted. Haute Couture or commercial, for example, even action shots sometimes. The judges usually ask for editorial/high fashion like shots, but there are exceptions.

Just being the center of attention isn't enough for fashion photography.. what is the main purpose of fashion? The clothing. Like you said, Mila's was gorgeous, and the blue dress even matched Jasmine's. On top of that, she looked slender, and was able to portray the dress and theme in a sophisticated/romantic fashion.

Geisha had creativity, LOTS of it. The play on perception is probably the most creative thing to come out of TNTM. However, it can easily be deciphered as the male being the model instead of Geisha. Unless I knew Geisha created this shoot, I would have thought this photoshoot was about Peter Pan. He's an attractive model, the clothing (Especially the boots!) is visible, and most importantly, your eyes are directed straight at him first! I would have thought tinkerbell was an accessory in this shoot. The shot itself is brilliant, but not for this competition, unfortunately. The Tinkerbell shoot is definetely very hard, but without being too literal, there are many ways to portray a more fantastical world.

Tinkerbell = Faery, and the FIRST thing that I thought of was Lily Cole's June (or July, heh) shoot for Vogue Italia:

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...6/lilycole.jpg
http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...lilycole-1.jpg

Of course it's impossible to recreate such details in GW, but with Geisha's creativity anything was possible. I believe it was only a poor decision and lack of understanding of the judge's demands. I wish her best of luck!

We also have to take in account last week's shot. 75% of her body is cut from the entire shoot, only with the face remaining. It was a very moody and serene piece, but once again, the focus on clothes/body/proportions weren't there.

Anyways, I think Geisha's creativity was amazing. The illusion of size worked wonders. Heh, as shown by the quality of my shot, Tink was VERY hard. Nobody is denying that you were amazingly inventive. However, you slightly disappeared. I'm sorry to see you go, you really blew me away this week

BTW I would really like to see that picture you took with some changes when you get farther in. Maybe GGY dyed Kurzick armor and a better crop would make that picture perfect (remember to leave the gloves and boots off!)

To noocoo: One would think that the judges would have thought about that when coming up with the assignment. If it was supposed to be fashiony and they knew it wasn't going to work, why would they assign it?

The PR Campaign

Success in this competition needs to be won on two sides of the battlefield, the first side being the assignments, the second being your posts within the forum. In order for you to get go further in this competition you will not only need to produce excellent pictures, but you will also have to post worthwhile replys on the forums. During my time in this competition I had a calculated PR campaign to give both the forum viewers and Judges a broader look into myself and my portfolio. These are some tips I went by to further myself in the competition.

- Do not post rejected pictures using the same emote/location/setup as the one you will be submitting for judgement. This removes the surprise effect and gives the judges a false sense that you are not dynamic.

- Do not overpost! especially rejected pictures, try to select one or two really nice ones that may have been another choice for submission. You want to keep quality high, not quanitity.

- Select your non-assignment pictures carefuly. Remember once you've used something once, it's old news even if it wasn't officially submitted. Once it's on the forums it's a frame of reference and you will be judged in the future comparitivly. So don't waste a good shot.

- Don't be Boring! not posting at all is almost worse than posting something stupid. Keep the talk fresh and lively. throw in a laugh or two here or there to show them you are not a robot.

- Post well when you are weak. Keep a nice shot or two in backup for those desperate times between saturday and sunday. When you feel you may be eliminated, show them something nice it may just save you.

- Try to stay in a good light. The more bad drama you start, the better your pictures must be. There also comes a point where no matter how good your pictures are, no one will want you to win, so post wisely.

These are the rules I tried to follow in the first season and I do think they helped for the most part. Every post I made was calculated, even though some ended up backfiring. So just remember there is more to this competition than the assignemnt, and think well before you post.

about jaden's tip, your image on the forums is very important. when it was us 2, the diffrence was 15 (?) votes! you will want to keep your fan base as big as you can. if you are liked by the fans, it might save you from elimination on earlier rounds too.

And i always liked posting those screens that turned out funny, it makes the thread more fun in my opinion. i always had a few since i used to take like 100 shots per minute to get the perfect pose i had in my mind. it just keeps the thread alive and keeps you in spotlight

Oh, the drama.... I gotta agree with Geishe, a little spice is interesting. But models, just remember that harsh words and overheated drama can be VERY risky when it comes to later assignments. Just look up on last Cycle. Even in real life, unless you're already a big name nobody likes to work with a temperamental model, and you may just get kicked out for that.

Here's another tip from me to the models: You probably will not always agree with the judges, but straight out bullshitting and rude outbursts are not a good thing to post in the forums. Wait until you've calmed down a bit, and then politely point out your own point of view. Or better yet, just keep your peace and don't post anything at all if you think you have nothing nice to say. Like Jaden pointed out, it's all about good PR and not just your looks.
I also remember vaguely that in the rules, it was written that this contest would raise emotions and they were looking for models who could actually keep their cool through it all. Please don't disappoint us.

I love Jaden's version of Tinkerbell. She really shows that while Tink is small, you can still portray her wonderfully in a big way. Taking a shot from Tink's perspective works really well - I'm sure she doesn't see herself as really tiny whenever she looks at herself in the mirror. In assignments like this, you have to think creatively, and while Geisha's shot was just amazing (one of my favourites creativity-wise), she just lost the modeling aspect of it. Peter Pan outshone her in that shot, and doesn't Tink just want a little more attention and to be bigger even in the movie?

As for the rest of the models, great job! And congratulations on getting to the next round! I can't wait to see what you come up with for the next assignment.

Wh00t drama :'D! Congratulations to Mila for winning MotW again, it was a good shot, though very very similar to your first one. I'm also positively surprised how well my own shot fared, thank you <3. I must admit ~2 years with the aura have made it so I hardly notice it anymore myself, unless it happens to cover some important areas like face or hands. I must remember to be more careful in future assignments.

I also agree that Geisha's shot was really ingenious and right on the mark, but it had lost that important "modeling" aspect.

I'm very excited about the next assignment~!
Just have one question: When you assigned a character to model after a 4-inch tall fairy that wears a plain as day green slip, what did you expect? Last week, your had problems with showing yourself, this week, you should've really took to that to heart. Besides, look in the "Post your TNTM pictures" in the screenshot request thread, and there were some good Tinkerbell shots without being the literal size. Your picture was good, but it just wouldn't work for this competition.

I am a bit Sad to see you go tbh ... i really feel like your assignment wasn't the easiest and your idea was so original and true to Tinkerbell.. even though the judges points are kinda valid .. but still ...Like some suggested already... please continue to post some shots in the feedback thread.

Good Luck.

For not naming that guy in the picture, I believe.

This is week 03 of competition, and for this week, its all about action posing. As seen in the banner, the girls from ANTM Cycle 5 we're transformed into Super Heroines and delivered dynamic poses. And all of your are the super heroes in the world of Tyria.

So for this photoshoot assignment, I will require that you all must take your next shoot in some form of attacking motion (hacking someone with a sword, casting a spell, wanding someone to death, etc).

You can attack anything and everything. Whether its those dumbies in the training area, or an actual enemy mob, or another person. And the object youre attacking does not need to be included in the shot, but it can be. You are also not confined to your primary jobs method of attacking and may use anything. (I.E. if you're a ranger, you do not have to use a bow)

If there are any questions and or concens, please forward them to me and I will be glad to help.

We will be looking for dynamic, strong action poses, so take that into consideration while deciding on a screen to submit.

This assignment will be due on Friday - May 11, 2007.

After deciding on a shot you are happy with, please send it in with the following question(s) answered:

1. What mode of action are you using in your shot?

2. Why do you think this is a compelling, dynamic shot?

Good luck to everyone and have fun!
