Least Favorite Class:

Ritualist...they're ugly, and pretty well much useless.

I chose monk. Mainly because it's just not fun to play as. I used to monk a lot in my younger days. Then I decided to look at the scenary and did some exploring. I realized how much of the game those darn little red bars take up.
Envious
Probably Paragon for me. I'd rather be in the heat of battle than slinging sticks at enemies.
Raaaaa
I think for me it would be warrior, mianly cause there are just so many useless ones out there that let the minority of them down. They can make great tanks and incredibly annoying PvP hammer knockdown-ers but theres so many bad ones around, be it pve or pvp
sindex
That has to be the Ranger for me. I simply do not like the class, I like the pet thing but that’s it. Ranger feels like a monk up class of different aspects to a rouge character that simply does not fit with me. This is also due to the fact that I hate that idiot character from NW2 Bishop, that makes be kind of bias on the subject.

Paragon
Just to boring to play.

Paragon.. Just something about them. They need to look more bad ass to be honest, more covered up. They have 80 AL, just like a warrior.. So let it show? No more tube tops. I want full angelic armor with shoulder pads, leggings, everything. Also Spear Mastery could use a major buff, seeing as thats how most people get into a class... Through their weapon (Ranger = Marksmanship, Warrior = Sword/Axe/Hammer Mastery, Assassins = Dagger Masterty, Dervish = Scythe Mastery)... So Paragons need some better spear skills...
Something different?
How about making spears a ranged and melee weapon?, you can use them in ranged combat but when someone comes within 1 foot of you, you switch into a phalanx like stance and start thrusting etc etc. The damage goes down, but the attack speed goes up.

Warrior. I've met a huge number of retarded warriors, and a small number of outstanding warriors, but I've never been able to warm up to playing the class myself. I really would rather fuss with skill chains/teleports/enchantments than just stand there hacking away. And elementalists are better for the gratification of slaughter.
EDIT: I forgot about Ranger. I love the idea of rangers, some of their skills have really exciting possibilities, pets are fun . . . and somehow I just can't get into them. I've made and deleted no less than four rangers, some after playing most of a campaign waiting for the fun to kick in. While Warrior leaves me cold, it's Ranger that keeps letting me down.

oh, thats hard....dont like paragons or dervishes.....warriors just suck to play....but the worst would be assassin....never got the hang of it and ate a lot of dirt......wasnt that it was hard, but just dont have the knack for it.

Monk. Like I said in the other "Favorite Class to play" thread, I just don't like only helping others, the Smiting line doesn't appeal to me, and I hate the 55 invinci-crap. So pretty much left with a class that doesn't appeal to me on any level.
EDIT: I find it funny, after seeing the poll results, that the Warrior is at around 14-15% for the least favorite, and around 17-18% for the most favorite. That really is the class you either love or hate, isn't it?

Ritualist. Not enough action.

I don't find either Paragons nor Dervishes to be particularly useful... but I actually like Paragons (too bad they got all nerfed up right when they were introduced. :/), so my vote went to Dervish.
Marth Reynolds
Dervish for me, only proffesion i don't have a character from.
Dervishes are to boring for my opinion and seem a bit like wannabe warriors.
Paragons would get my second place vote if we had one, just because of the nerfs and gerenall useless skills (Way to few good paragon skills hoping it changes with GW:EN)

Dervish for me, they're overrated, unbalance, wearing hoodies and always hanging out on the street.
Patrick Smit
I voted Dervish.
I see many arguments other classes, like monking is just watching red bars, warrior is just mindless c--> space, etc.. I think most classes if explored and played well offer more than that. Though the dervish gives me least satisfaction. Its like a warrior without adrenaline, the scythe gives good damage, but doesnt have the added possibility of KD (luckily). IMO they are just too general and therefore seem not to have a really strong point. But I guess its just my limited experience.

Plague
Ritualist. The only thing they have great proficiency at doesn't actually involve any combat whatsoever, just standing in place hitting buttons. A very boring class to play, and hard to move in PvE.
GODh
I voted Assassin
Somehow i dislike it that i have to use many skills in a particular order to be effective (but i have to admit that i didnt spend much time with a sin).

Warriors.... They're redundant for almost all purposes.
If it weren't for Devona having "Charge!" (bloody good idea, I'd like to say), I'd never bring her anywhere at all. I only keep her around to keep the party running fast. When it comes to actual fighting, Olias is commanding 10 meat-shields on his own... so what the heck would I need an 11th for?
And perhaps surprisingly... given the base damage of Devona's hammer.... I can still do considerably more damage than she can with weapons that have a max base damage of 17.
Additionally... when I play my Necro in Alliance Battles... there tend to be warriors all over the place, which rather amuses me since I consider them zero-risk targets. Elementalists I'm afraid of. Dervishes can be problematic. Mesmers are a nightmare. Warriors though I can just put a few hexes on and then watch them kill themselves flailing at me. I feel more threatened by your average Flesh Golem.

Paragons are bad. Followed by dervish, ritualist and sin are pretty much tied for me.
Diddy bow
ritulist, like a pathetic wannabee monk/necro/ele that cant do any of them right. And they are just lame ¬¬
sins/ranger/para ftw they are my 3 favs yet the top 3, poor paragon. I guess everyone hates them cus a-net went and made there shouts about as good as a mending wammo with constant burning and there spears about as good as a rit without spirits.

I voted Monk, but I am not saying that it is the worst class. Monks are invaluable to a party and I think everyone should try one out. It just didn't grab me whilst I was playing one. Saying that though, my warrior is getting pretty neglected now, I'm not inspired to play him as much as I used to be, (and let's face it - they don't look that great, do they?) and I haven't tried playing a rit, mesmer or paragon yet so I can't say too much on the subject.
frojack
Monk.
It's the perfect example of a lot of what's wrong with the game. All they do is heal or protect. Sure they can smite but nobody will ever let it happen beyond the few radicals who form together in TA.
You get a monk in a party. What is that monk gonna' be? No surprises there. Protection and offence should be spread out more among the other classes.
A good example of a good way of doing this is the Ritualist. They may not be perfect (far from it) but they offer a far more appealing angle on offence and defence.
When you get a Ritualist in your party you never know what your going to get. Most of the time unfortunately you'll get a complete joke (reading some of the Ritualists comments it's not hard to see why).
The class can heal and prot to an extent (not in the same league as the monk but that's not the point. That's actually a good thing). They can also play offence successfully as well. Even some of the support buffs they have can even be classed as offensive (eg. Vengeful Weapon). The bar can slide back and forth between both that multiple Ritualists can work extremely well together in a team. Maintaining life and taking the offensive.
Again, they can not maintain life as well as monks. This is not news. The only reason for this is the very existence of the overbearing protective nature of the monk, resulting in a game balance that requires vast amounts of offensive power to overcome it.
You can't have a realistic fight without having a monk around. This should so obviously point out how imbalance the game actually is that all the Paragon nerfs for very similar reasons are really quite annoying (not saying they weren't needed).
The Ritualist is an example of a direction in which class balance should be looking. They are far from perfect but that's ultimately the result of the totalitarian nature of the offence/defence relationship currently in the game.
Essentially, to successfully 'win' frequently you go to the extremes of the the options you have available. Adding peculiar subversion to hurt the enemy (Mesmer/Necro/Air-water Elementalists) or different approaches to direct offence to try and catch the enemy of guard (Dervish/Assassin/Spirit-Spam perhaps). There is more to the game than that naturally but I really dislike the reliance upon extremes.
In a more class balanced environment high levels of protection and offence would be difficult to achieve but still quite possible. Side-stepping the whole issue of excessive 'spike' and spike-counter in one fell swoop. Also I think there are enough game play tools to prevent matches from becoming a series of dull trade-off's.
This would probably make for a better game. We'll never know for sure I guess.
Hopefully the talk of a revised class structure in GW 2 will go some way to address the offence/defence relationship.

Assassin. Press 1,2,3 ... repeat. Yawn.
Teleportation is a bit stupid.
In PvE...playing as a Monk, you are always healing these guys non-stop. They are supposed to jump in, kill, then disappear. Instead you get people jumping in, staying in, trying to tank, thinking they are playing great while the monk is burning away energy. People just don't seem to equip or employ the Assassin's movement and evasion skills in PvE. In PvP however they are a personal hate class. One man-spikers for use by 'press 123' newbs. Really, a little overpowered in PvP.
I don't like the artwork or any of the faces or armour on this class. They look like stick insect hunchbacks.
Why couldn't they be more like Ninjas....able to use the Katanas and stuff you find lying around. How about shuriken? Daggers are, well, lame.
Also they may fit the look and feel of Cantha but they just jar with the other campaigns.
Go away, horrid Assassins.

Great post Frojack.
I find Mesmer and (non-fire) Ele to be the best examples of balanced Attack/Defence.
Another reason why Assassin is not good for me. No defence and no team benefit. Designed to be a soloist.

Ritualist. At least assassins can do fun stuff like teleport across the map. Ritualists basically move around a bit and put down slow-casting spirits at good locations. Yaaawn.
If more of the non-spirit monk-like skills were efficient, maybe it would be fun to play them.

Ah much easier to answer than my favourite one. Its gotta be Warrior, i hate playing as my warrior, on many occasions ive wanted to delete her even though shes done all 3 campaigns and has every skill unlocked.

Least Favorite, Necro. Soul Reaping sucks in PvE I have no incentive to play it.

I hate its gameplay, running around with pots or camping with chained spirits.

The artwork looks like Japanese people, which is good. And don't Necros look like hunchbacks?
Daggers lame? Dude, there are more dagger techniques out there than sword. Sure, swords are fun but daggers are so versatile, you wouldn't believe it... Plus, by hearing you say shuriken, I guess you watch naruto, as it isn't exactly a well known weapon. (It's not always in the form of a ninja star, either.) Point being, didn't you just love the kunai? Frankly, I find the split chakrams, aureate daggers, dragon scythes and Shiro's blades super cool... Heck, for a cheap one, the sai look sweet.
And what the heck is stupid about TELEPORTING?!? Teleporting rocks!
Count to Potato
Mesmer for me, ive always had a grudge against them, mostly cuz my first char was ele, and my bro's was mes

Assassin is my least favorite profession, although I don't like playing melee characters in general, regardless of the game. Warriors, Rangers and Paragons have stronger armor and Dervishes, with similar armor, have much more powerful defensive skills. And it doesn't make sense for Rangers get exclusive "ownership" of traps and preparations, as well as easier access to poison.

I have no problem with the assassin's weapons... I just wish we had longer blades.. like shiro's but with different stats.
Takuna
Well, flying stars were only one form of the shuriken, as all a shuriken is is lots of metal recycled into a weapon... But whatever, I didn't know that it was in all those games.
Also, please note, my being a fan of Naruto may have influenced my choosing the assassin class to a degree. But that doesn't effect my judgement on how it works in the game. Also, it is true that daggers are one heck of a lot more versatile... Though yes, you are right in that getting dual blades would be better. Heck, it would rock, it's my favourite style of swordplay. Shiros swords have my favourite skin currently.
EDIT: Wait a sec, soul calibur? Which character?

Anyway, freakin awesome post, frojak, and probably the main reason I chose monk, as well. I honestly think a dedicated healer/protector class just doesn't belong in an online RPG. In a tabletop, yeah, because it is much more detailed and can produce more role play and teamwork among the group. In an online game, you end up having the person sitting in the back paying attention to mostly everyone's health bars, and that's about it. Yeah, real immersion.
Takuna
Ah, I only have SC2. Anyway, aren't smiting monks good? I thought that holy damage was sought after.
