I have the same problem Selor, even if i have VS on they still strip PS instead... its really frustrationg... sometimes i get them killed then other times its all going well, then bang im dead

It's not that hard to kill the mesmers. I did it a lot with my 55hp necro.
The way i do it is like this:
1. wait for (almost) full regen
2. target a mesmer
3. cast PS, HB, VS
4. cast SS and IP on the mesmer
5. As soon as you notice your VS is stripped, recast PS, HB, VS (always in this order, so VS works as a cover for your vital enchantements)
Normally the mesmer should go down before his shatter enchantement has recharged. If not, prepare to reapeat step 5
The way i do it is like this:
1. wait for (almost) full regen
2. target a mesmer
3. cast PS, HB, VS
4. cast SS and IP on the mesmer
5. As soon as you notice your VS is stripped, recast PS, HB, VS (always in this order, so VS works as a cover for your vital enchantements)
Normally the mesmer should go down before his shatter enchantement has recharged. If not, prepare to reapeat step 5

I thought monsters stopped doing anything if doing so would kill them, such as with SS or backfire etc.

If you're talking about aoe fleeing, that only applies to melee based opponents. So if you had 10 shadow rangers all next to each other killing themselves with SS, they won't flee

Hey Witte.... first off... great guide!
I'm having trouble with the Titans in North Kryta.... the Water Titans seem to interrupt everything with Maelstrom. Do you just avoid them all together or is there a trick to it?

nope stonesoul will do the trick...speeds up things a whole bunch plus you can take the occasional bosses that spawn for elite tomes. just take out essence and only keep bal spirit for energy.

i need the numbers to compare with my current farming spots and see if the amount of gold earned / minute is greater or less.

ive tried it a couple of times and it kicks ass... you can even kill the growth things

Don't forget the usual Mo/D build can HM Vermin Farm too.... not sure how the drops are now-a-days

I didn't read the whole thread so forgive me if this has been pointed out but what about the Eles? I do 1, 2, 3, and during 4 I get hosed. I'm guessing it's the eles, but it's hard to tell. I'm at a loss I're tried about 3-4 times and it

If you're going Necro primary, Spirit Bond > Vig spirit for FoW. Witte is right, for his build w/o divine favor healing in Hard you're screwed. SB works as a (kinda) cover enchant, but it is my favorite secondary healing skill when PS + HB is not enough.

leveling in factions is like picking an apple from a tree. it's fast, easy & fun. i usually level up my character to around 15 in 2 hours, so 20 shouldn't take more than 1 day if you're really into it.

Prophecies or Factions. A guide for Prophecies can be find here and for Factions here
both are great for fast experience. (If you want to do the prophecies one, start in Factions or Nightfall and go to Lions Arch, get a run to Sanctum Cay, Run Sanctum Cay and than run to The Thirsty River!)
