E/Me Plains Of Jarin HM
Zena Starlight
Mind sharing that build?
Hexum
I got all this in one run earlier. Stats are meh on most.
Moa Bird Cultist
Thats a very nice haul, Hexum. I played about with the ele build some and I've come to the conclusion that Arcane Echo Sliver Armor is actually considerably slower. The reason why this is, is that the pBAoE skills placed in the build contribute significantly more in terms of group damage. A good casting chain of AoE spells will net at least 2000 area damage, sometimes upward of 3000 if you chain all 3 before the mob scatters. Sliver acts as the 'finisher' against melee mobs - killing a target or 3 before they can flee out of range of the spell.
As for good drops recently, I've had 2 more Fiery Blade Axes, another Icy, a r9 Istani Shield, a Vamp Stonehead Hammer and more tomes and scrolls than you can shake a stick at. I'm also getting quite good at taking down the entire stormbringer mob
Infact I've been having so much fun doing this that I decided to get myself a couple of new bits of armour as well as a long overdue superior vigor for Ren's armour too, not to mention a gold tattooed scimitar at the bargain price of 10k I've probably spent about 50k in the last 3 or 4 days, but thanks to this run, I still just about have 200k in storage. So yeah, I think I might have found my calling
ALSO EDIT: I know I said this run was good for Xp, but... isn't 500k a week a bit much...? (in 2 weeks I've scored 1 million Xp from doing this fairly casually...)

I killed everything in the zone except 6 mandragors, and heres the loot I ended up with. Both gold bows were req9 with max mods
Hexum
I tried one time to take down Stormbringer, died and haven't tried since. LoL.

What monster does exactly drop the Icy/Fiery Blade Axes? Since i have done about ~50 runs there now and still no Blade Axe.
Avatar Exico
Grats on the Build. Very Detailed out. Now Ele's have something to look forward to Farm in Low Levels of NF in Hard Mode.

I was about to ask the same thing, so I decided to kill verything I can in the zone... Got 2 icy blade axe drops in the same run from stormseed jacarandas.
I don't know if other monsters in the zone drop them, if their drop rate is higher, or if I just got lucky, but the only blade axes I got came from jacarandas.

Icy Blade Axes drop from the Nephila, for sure. Just got one

Well, just about anything in the zone can drop them, that would seem to be the general concensus from everyone who has posted here. As for the droprate, well, it's not massively high, so it'll take a bit of plain old fashioned luck. The sheer percentage chance of getting a gold drop from any given enemy seems quite high, but as with anything that relies on probability, you can still have a negative result a thousand times over if you're unlucky.
In other news, this run has scored me my collector of wisdom title (r2)
Heheh, only 299 more for r3 (thats 150 runs if we say 2 golds on avg per run @ 20 minutes per run tops. 50 hours ) Ah, what can I do, I've already wasted 2500 playin this game, what harm's another 50 gonna do?

so ive been farming this alot very fast....so does anyone else realize the drops become less?
Hexum
I got mine from spiders and termites. And yes the drops get less after a few runs. For me at least.
ThorDiantral
Anyone found another place this can farm to get rid of anti farm code for 2-3 days? this is a great run, now if only there were some easier way to sell this stuff then merch or trade spam

Okay, what I'm about to say is purely speculative, so do not take it too literally.

Now, theres a few ways this can be interpreted.
1: It's a bare faced lie - the common belief of much of the player base.
2: It's actually true - just accept it for what it is.
3: It is the truth, but it is not the only thing that governs droprate. - the belief that this may well work in a similar way to the unlocked chests in Elona.
Allow me to explain. The unlocked chests are now fairly common knowledge amongst the player base and having been in the game for some time now have been subject to no small amount of observation. What is known is that they refill approximately every 30 days and that for each one you open, the chances of getting a gold item or gem over a purple decreases. Now going back to the refill rate, it has also been observed that it can take much longer than 30 days for them to refill for some characters and that generally speaking, these characters are the most played on a given account.
My experiences reflect this - on my primary account I have a grand total of 19 characters, 2 of which are mules. Now, predictably, only 5 or 6 of these actually get played and even then I tend to stick to one character at a time. My experiences have been that for my less played characters, the chests have refilled every 30 days on the dot. As for my more played characters, chests have refilled, but the drops have got progressively worse. And then there's Rena, my first and most important character. The chests have not refilled at all for her since February. I've certainly played as her almost constantly the past month or two, so that would correlate with the evidence given on the subject already. So maybe droprate works a similar way? So if drops start to suck, switch to another character and the drops might be better.
I really don't know if this works or not, if it's true or no. It's as I said, just pure speculation on my part, though I'm now motivated to test this for myself. If anyone else wants to try this and offer their opinion, that'd be very useful to all concerned, I'm sure. I'm going to take a neutral stance on droprate myself, at least until it's been analysed further. So no calling me a conspiracy theorist, ok?

why waste all that energy? Just use glyph of renewal, with 16 in earth, and 20% enchant mod, it can be kept up for the majority of the time, and doesn't waste a ton of energy like echo and arcane echo would.

With Warrior:
Restoration: 12
Str: 10+1+3
Tactics: 8+1
VWK, Veangeful Weapon, Resilient Weapon, Bonetti' Defense, "Watch Yourself!", Dolyak's Signet, Weilder's Boon, Enraging Charge.
Same run. Against the spiders you shouldn't need Resilient Weapon or Weilder's Boon, they kill thenselves with 2 VWK casts, and your AL is to high for then to cause any real dmg. Against the Termites keep Resilient all the time and heal yourself with Weilder's boon if needed, and try not to aggro more than 5 or 6 Termites, Energy won't be a problem cause you have Bonetti's. Try to stay away from Skale Blighter, Vile touch will probably own you. Didn't tryed to take on the Jacarandas with this build.
Another build you could use is:
Earth Magic: 12
Str: 8+1+3
Tactics: 10+1
Glyph of Renewal, Sliver Armor, Armor of Earth, "Watch Yourself!", Bonetti's Defense, Lion's Comfort, Enraging Charge, Earth Attunement
The run takes a little longer with this build and it's a little harder too. But i got a lot more drops with it, maybe cause of that thing ppl tell about not killing all the mob at once will give you more drops. Use a +20% Enchants sword or axe, Rajazan or Totem Axe would be nice.
You can't take on Skale Blighters with this one either, neither Jacaranda's, but like i said, te drop seens to be better. In 3 runs, got around 5 Golden itens with this build, max and low req but crappy skin, some purple, 3 Picks and some gold. And it's a lot more fun than droping 1 ecto and 3 Blues every 3 runs on the Smiters.
I know, i know, with an Elementalist it's much easier. But my Ele is a lvl 15 Prophecies one and i'm too lazy to do 15 Attribute point quests with him right now, and i don't wanna even THINK about hunting Elite Skills. Besides that i have a Famine to cap and a 55 Monk to lvl. Lol.

Energy efficiency is besides the point when you'll always have an effective 22 pips of energy regeneration. It's just a case of what kills mobs faster and more Sliver Armor is simply a diminishing return, because the more mobs you kill with it, the less damage it does over time.
Oh and Gawayne, nice. The one thing I've noted about VWK already though is that it's impossible to take down any of the bosses - VWK doesn't have enough focused firepower to bring down a single high power target, at least, not warrior VWK, it would seem. An E/Rt or Rt/E VWK-Sliver build on the other hand, now there's a thought . . . IlikeGW
I didn't know about those axe drops, now I have a reason to farm other than random cash grabbing there.
Rt/Me echo vwk works very fast btw. Master of Light
I wanted to kill the Stalking Nephila's slowly, one by one.* So I took Empathy with me, and I found out that you can hide behind that small hill, just like behind a rock in the Rilohn farm. The Ranger Insects will shoot at you, but won't hit you.
Of course, the build I was using is bad, and in this case, having 55hp wasn't even necessary. That's the reason I'm posting this. Maybe someone will have a better idea. *Killing one after the other gives much more drops. Almost every enemy drops an item when I kill them like this. shadows of hob
I vanquised plains 2 times today and not even a purple icy blade

That War build is just for those who, like me, were too lazy to create or level-up an Elementalist just for this build. VWK can't take down bosses, that's true, and i think you won't be able to take then down either with Sliver armor. Unless you use some "backup", like you mentioned earlier, using other monsters to power-up your Sliver Armor. But i don't know about the VWK+Sliver Armor. In Normal Mode would be great since the monsters don't scatter, but in Hard Mode rely only on skills that "Damage on Attack" will only make your run take longer. I haven't tried the E/Me build yet, but i think those area damage skills are pretty nice to prevent then from running away when they're nearly dead. Maybe dropping Shockwave for Glyph of Renewal for a almost permanent Sliver Armor and using Crystal only for finishing damage would be better, i'll try that tomorrow, have only one last 15 Attribute Point Quest to do on Prophecies then my Elementalist will be ready to farm the Plains. Mickey
Just tried it as a R/E, works as fast, OR even faster than the E/Mes build.
16 ws 12 earth shockwave crystal sliver armor stoneflesh armor of earth stone striker storm chaser troll unguent worked well, took the ele boss down, and the spiders, gonna try the mandragors later Nanood
Just for fun I vanquished the area to see what is roughly available.
4 real people. 1 person taking all the experience to make counting easier. And I got... From 209 foes 44,686 experience 892 Sunspear Points 6521 gold And all this stuff. http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3077/gw474ur9.jpg Moa Bird Cultist

How long does an ele take to do it, was it 15 mins? I was off a bit, forgot to add in the part that I was using a 20% HSR staff, and I kept getting it on Sliver Armor The build definitely works, but just not as fast, but its survivability is on par or better because of troll unguent, and storm chaser is subbed in for mantra of earth. Jayden_Angelus
When I did this run with my 330hp Rit the other day, I ended up with three fiery blade axes in one run! One was Req 12, one was req 10 and one was req 9 (though it wasn't max damage)... but it had a 20% enchanting mod on it so I just added a +5 energy mod and turned it into a caster weapon for something different instead of the totem axe. haven't noticed anything different with the lacking of 20 armor pen.
I'm hoping for an icy blade axe soon too. Only thing I've had trouble with is the elemental plants and the mandragor imps. I try to avoid the mesmer plants but as long as I can get them one or two at a time I can survive long enough for them to die and hope I don't die from degen. ~|AW|Jayden frodo7
I also do this run with a 330hp Rit. Its the fastest way that I have found. When I want to have some fun with it, I kill with a Touch Ranger, but can only take about 3 enemies at a time (but only when I have to as I prefer killing one at a time that way). I have gotten a couple of Firey Blade Axes from termites.
..:: SC ::..
where else can i use my earth ele? I just spend over 50k on earth armor, runes and weapons so i would like to try out some more farmspots
the build works rly good, thanx for sharing! Marty Silverblade
I haven't used this in a while, but you can farm the 6 Jade Brotherhood Knights outside Wajjun Bazaar. HM of course. Just make sure you have Sliver up before their initial Triple Chops. You can still survive if you get hit, but it's not too much of an issue. It's not too fast, but it works.

i seen this thread and decided to try this run on my 55 monk, so i start my first run, i kill the first group of spiders then they drop a lockpick and ranger tome then i keep travelling south and i'm holding down ctrl to see the names and i see a boss called "Hassin Softskin" so i run over to his group kill them, open the chest beside him while he's still attacking me and look what popped out ;o Goldfish

problems: physical interupts strong poison dmg that overcomes all the def. stone daggers aura of restoration glyph of swiftness obsidian flesh mantra of earth stone striker stoneflesh aura silver armor dmg comes mostly from silver armor, constantly maintain obsidian flesh with glyph of swiftness (use the second charge for silver armor). attributs something like: 15 earth 8 inspiration 8 energy storage 6 air magic (not at home atm, dunno ) i dont think its worth to put 12 in energy storage to have 3 charges of glyph of swiftness, 2 is fine for me. noneedforclevernames
