There appears to be a black-edged patch just south of Fort Ranik and Serenity Temple, looks like something was hastily covered up.

If you look a little north of where Orr was you can see an area tahts uncovered right next to the shiverpeaks. Could be related to Orr in some way.

Ah! The joys of being a Fire Elementalist! Now I'll be able to go straight to the Charr and burn THEIR homes

The guy was somewhat confused, talking about Orr and dwarves being a playable race and all. Just don't listen to him

It doesn't have to be explorable at launch, but they can release it in updates where a new area is opened up. Hope they do the same with Cantha, Elona and possible new continents. Might be too much work though

There have to be limits on whats explorable though

Not all of Earth is "explorable"

Well deserts, mountians and dense rainforests are hard to explore but i suppose not impossible

Though i doubt you'd survive in a desert like the Antartic in Glaidators Armor it's a little . . skimpy

Technically he is right. The Antarctic is a desert by definition, since it gets very little rainfall over the course of a year.

I do hope that more work will be done on the current "lands" like in GW:EN rather than more new campaigns

A desert is defined by the precipitiation, not the temperature.

I can't wait to get back into some land that looks like pre-sear Ascalon. Definately my favorite place. I want to explore that area directly north of LA a bit as well, definatly looks like a nice little forest there

One thing I'm wondering about; why is the Crystal Desert losing ground? Those mountains to the south of the Ascalon area, all around the tomb of Primevil Kings, look like they are very green, much more so than '6' years before from the original GW maps.

They had to dangle from a rope to reach the ground and were the first people to document the unique animals living there. The scientists then found a large crevice/cave that they were able to explore that had previously been unknown.

Looks like its time for us to pull out our harpoons and set sail because its time to mount Nessy's head in our hall of monuments.

The thing I wonder about is if there will be any new explorable areas in Cantha or Elona, since the official wiki does say that the setting for EOTN will be spread through the continents (yes, it is plural) which have already been introduced in the previous campaigns (again, plural). We've only seen the new map for Tyria so far... will there be new maps for them as well?

hmm maybe. but then again these caverns/dungeons are under all 3 campaign areas, so they might just be, hey im in dungeon #5 gorgaks lair, techinically we're under Elona. But it would be neat to have the other 2 campaigns maps fleshed out...or maybe...thats addon 2 and 3 ;-)

also if u notice there are dozens of portals that connect to nothing so this map is 100% complete

EDIT: the green area in the north eastern part of the shivers is the Charr Homeland. South of Magumma Jungle is asura homeland. North Northern Shivers is Norn while that lil spot of no-mans land is the nature fanatics' homeland

EDIT 2: the lil cover up south of Fort Ranik is a quick job because u can see paths going into the fogged up area

When it comes to those portals that lead nowhere, I thought those might lead to dungeons... omg lets go count them, if we can count 18-ish I might be right

OMG I COUNTED 18

WOW! GREEN BITS!

As much as I liked Elona, even the sand, it gets samey....it'll be nice to see some green bits.

What's with that blackish island to the north....surely that can't have nothing to do with the story - it's WAY too sinister looking.

Granted, you caught the mistakes in my paraphrasing by recollection but, in relation to your original intentions, I highly doubt the race will grow so quickly to have civilizations pre-established in the GW:EN map and young heroes joining your party for battle. It takes hundreds of years for a culture to develop.
