GW:EN Prerelease Bonus Pack
Buster
If you purchase the pre-order online from Anet do you have to buy EOTN from the online store too or can you purchase it from a retailer ?

If you bought the pre-release bonus pack from the online store then that $5 counts towards the price of the game but if you go to a store then you would have to pay the full $40 (US) instead of having to pay $35 to the online store.
I would suggest buying GW:EN from the online store if you already got the bonus pack from them but if you don't mind paying the full $40 (just an extra $5) then you can get it from a retailer.

So you're saying the full game is $35 from the online store?
I've been trying to get someone to tell me what the friggin' price is, but no one ever answers the question.

It'll be $35 if you bought the pre-release bonus pack from let's say the online store or Game Stop since you pre-order GW:EN from them and that $5 goes towards the full price. But it will be $40 if you didn't buy the pre-release bonus pack and just go to the store when it comes out.

Thanks HKS. I had gone elsewhere to try to find some info, and figured out that I was being stupid and hadn't understood what you'd posted. lol

Sounds great to me. I plan on buying from the online store anyway so I can get those bonus missions too. I just didn't know the rules if people were obligated to buy GW:EN from the online store if you got the pre-order from there was well. Can't wait !

Yeah i got it from target for .99 cents and they have extra $3 off toward full version. so not bad at all and that coupon will be valid until october 5 2007.
U never know is that have on say on target and i can use that coupon towards the sale price too
Or can buy from Fry's where they always have buy 1 and get 1 free. Like previously when u buy Nightfall, u get free Factions. something like that.

Sorry, quick question, can the weapons be given to Heroes? 'Cos they're customised for the player?

Yes they can, heroes can use weapons even if they are customised by your character.
midasgf
Fantastic, thankyou for that.

I have an extra pre-release key if anyone wants it!

is it really gonna be 39.99?
caz faction and nightfall is still 39.99 so I thought maybe EN will be 49.99.
where is the price verified at?

Well, they've announced it's gonna be 40. It's an expansion, not a full game, which explains the lower price.
cr00mz
i'ts been asked before but i want to have it clarified.
I don't have money for the expansion right now, if i only buy the pre order for the items/sneak peak am i "forced" to pay for the game when it comes out the 31?

Solar_Takfar
How would they go about forcing you do pay for something?
cr00mz
not exaclty force you, they're not coming to your door and breaking your arms, i don't know how to explain. But i have preordered some videogames before and that ensures that you get it during the release day (if it is not said anything else) is this the same kind of preoder stuff? i get the bonus pack (the cheap one €5) and then i am ensured of getting the real expansion as in buying it on release day, i dont know if you understand
captain_carter
well it depends where you buy it whether you are infact preordering the full expansion or not, however noone can or will force you to buy it. However if you don't buy it on or close to the release date its unclear whether you will get the cost of the pre-release pack deducted (and probably also depends where you bought it).
cr00mz
i was considering buying it of the in game store, i don't have the mony this month for the expansion and i'm still only on factions so i'm not in a rush to get the expansion but it would be nice to see what the new places will look like + get the pre order items, so if i can buy it sepratley from the in game store then it will be ok

Since any threads on the topic have been closed due to people flaming on irrelevant topics (& over-eager-to-close-threads moderators), do we know what the scoop is yet on buying the game through the online store?? Will it be available at precisely midnight so I can get in right away, or should I just pick up a copy at EBgames where it's already in stock??? This I think would be quite rediculous, because I don't want to pay twice for a game... I still cannot comprehend why the game is not in the online store and for sale right now...
Das Hip
Ok, as posted in another thread on this forum the actual game (GW:EN) is now available for purchase thru the in-game/online store. I just purchased it without a problem. Thank goodness :P

Actually, the Pre-release is FREE with the purchase of EotN Exp Pack. It says so on the sales receipt that I got from Fry's.
Just picked up mine today but the sales people were completely confuse and didn't know how to refund the $0.99. After 15min, I said forget it and walked out.
