Update July 17th
Lauryn
What worries me is how everyone is saying that this update takes forever to download and such (supposedly being over 1GB) yet I only have 250kb/s internet and it didn't even take me 5 minutes
Still other than that slight worry no complaints from me, the resizing party window is great, love the new map and now I'll have to try finish nightfall so I can play in DoA

Cheers for continuing to communicate with our community again Gail. It is a good thing that we know that we can have communications, through yourself, with those that run the game that we all love to play. Many of us appreciate this fact cheers.
It also took me about 3 mins or so. I dont think there is anything to worry about. It looked about 13MB or so..? I have seen larger figures mentioned, but not as high as 1GB.. People sometimes choose to update all files at once, optionally, in which case the update can be larger, and maybe also includes files from other updates?

That's becuse you have only downloaded a part of the update.
There are two ways to get updates. The usual one is just running GW. It will download the essentials immediately and then let you play, while still downloading the rest of the content. You get to play immediately, but you will have an extra busy connection for a long time.
The other way is to run GW.exe with the -image switch. This forces GW client to download the whole thing first. This means a lot of downloading during which you can't play, but it makes for a smooth ride once all is downloaded. This took me an afternoon yesterday, but I must confess I put it in the background and did other fun things while the download progressed.

A lot of people are saying negative things about this update. On a positive note however, I was very impressed with how fast you guys fixed the bug which effected those of us with lousy videocards (not meeting the TECHNICAL minimum requirement). Thank you very much for the speed of this fix. Although it was funny seeing my legs shoot out in an arc into the sky (weird huh?).

Thanks for your input, Gaile. As you have probably noticed, the text limitation is the major setback of the party search / trade system. Should that be upgraded, the usability would rise to a whole new level.

In the update, this was listed Improved the system for throttling chat spam.. Forgive my ignorance, but what the heck does this mean?

Have fun with selling an item... I posted an item WTS (fill in blank for an item) R9 100k+65e Ok... it automatically sticks it up in party window and cuts it off at: WTS (fill in blank for an item) R9 100k I then have literally 35 people pming me, opening trade with me, harassing me, saying I posted 100k for the item and I have to sell it, etc.... because it looks like I am selling one of the most desireable items in the game for a fraction of the going price... I never posted in party, the update puts it up there for you, cuts it off and suffer the consequences... Try it, you will love the hate mail you are about to receive.... Oh.. and I kept the name as SHORT AS POSSIBLE.... holy cow... these people are stupid. Worst update of the last 12 months... |

Anyways, any comments from me about the update would interpreted as negative somehow, ergo I will not comment. |

While I'm at it, FYI: vampirism has 2 bugs since the update: (1) not scaling w/ sunspear rank and (2) not triggering painful bond.

Yeah, my download speeds have been VERY slow since the update came out. Oh well, I like the update

It's all tidied now, I just wanted you to know some info about that. |

Man, being able to finally drop an item into chat would be FANTASTIC. Pretty much every modern MMO allows this, and it's always baffled me as to why it can't be done in GW chat.

My ritualist thanks you in advance!

I don't sell stuff much anymore since I got more storage, so meh on the Trade update. Secondly, I play an MM and have all Heroes, so meh on the Party Search too. :-p
What I really appreciated was the buggy Party Panel fix. Sometimes it'd shrink to just show me, then I'd have to spend time to resize it. One thing that is still unfixed is I still have to get rid of Tah and Dunk's Skillbars, put Razah's back, and move it where I want it. This happens everytime I have Razah's Skillbar open when I go into a mission.
Finally, minions are part of the party too. Minions are in-Mission and out. They're useful everywhere! Please let them be part of the Party Panel, or some other implementation. Some suggestions: Making the Minion Cap Icon (or whatever it's being called these days) being useful for something besides "Ctrl+Click = spam." No other interactions for the Icon, just Ctrl. It's so useless. How about Click = Cycle Minion Selection? How about the Animate X skill on your Bar showing you how many of that minion you had? How about having Minions obey Flags? Please?
