Change to Favor System :wow:

Man i used to tell my freinds playing wow, that i would at anytime rather play gw. Less grind (max lvl 20), it's all about having fun, all casual players can get cool stuff(armor,weapons). But damn this changes alot. U now NEED! to grind if u wan't to go to uw or fow. This game seams to becomming just as grindy as wow.

Two things.
First, I don't consider this encouraging grind. People are going to go for titles on their own, and "Oh look, it helps get favor!" Most titles are fun to get regardless so I don't see too much a problem here.
Second, Eye of the North is going to bring new titles. I think until Eye of the North comes out, we don't really know how this system is going to turn out.

It's only grindy if you are trying to do it all yourself, and anyone who considers this grind is not quite understanding what is going on here.
You are relying on the actions of hundreds of thousands of players - not just yourself.
Everyone who is stressing over this just needs to calm down and sit back with a drink that has a little umbrella in it and watch other people go for achievements.

i was wondering if anyone is crazy enough to try to do "combos", planning to max 2+ title in few minutes
ex:
XYZ has achieved the title Holy Lightbringer
XYZ has achieved the title Legendary Sparmarshall
i know sooner or later sum1 will do something like this, wonder how crazy this will end up to. God imagine someone maxing Saviour of the Kurzick and the Luxon in a row. that would be tremendously sick

The best part of the favor change is that victory tokens drop in UW instead of ectos thanks to the dragon festival. Awesome!

How many people just say stuff without even checking.. it's like there is a default "complain" response to everything. Even when it's working.

I guess the gods are on crack, they're willing to give their favor to someone who afk's a lucky/unlucky title, or opens chests, or eats a bunch of candy canes, rather than actually winning something.
Soon there will be PvE'ers complainin why ecto prices are so low and now their fow armor isn't great anymore.

Well... once thing that could be done once titles start decreaing, could be to allow players to get a title that can be to trade a certain completed title for a great price (i.e.: A miniature, a not unlocked already mask, etc)
Once you exchange the title, you can start getting it over again.

thought I'd share some thoughts too.
As most people pointed out by now, this probblely isn't going to work in the long run. To be honest I kinda liked the old favor system, it fitted the lore more too. (Gods in the Mist, HoH in the Mist, etc)
My idea is to bring back the old system but incorperate a sorta handicap. The handicap level increases the more you win in HoH as a region and drops when you lose. The higher you handicap the easier you are to kill, the lower the harder. This will balance out the fights a bit more imo.
Other idea is just to iprove the AI so it can reconize populair UW/FoW farm build. Like the VwK W/Rt build. Just let the smites stop attacking when your holding the ashes and stuff like that, that will make the prices of ecto's go up.
anyways, just my idea. Gotta see how this turns out, maybe it won't be to bad after all.

10 for example only
instead of 3 maxed titles left needed for favor it would be 3.0 maxed with any level of any title gain counting as a tenth to increase the number faster as 10 of any mix and match would give credit for one max title.

System is working and when the supply of titles is low Anet will adjust/add some accordingly. Not to mention we have passage scrolls as well. With increased access Ecto prices will fall. Whine about it later in another thread.
