An Open Letter to ANet
Sha Noran
I would just like to add that most of the posts citing casual gamer's generally low skill level as the reason for the content's lenient fail conditions is really too bad, for two reasons: it's true, and it's not really the player's fault.
Another key flaw in ANet's game design strategy was the idea that playing through the PvE content would prepare players for PvP... a good idea, but so poorly executed it's embarrassing. When it's possible to complete all of the campaigns without having to ever change your bar to cater to a group build, it's really not at all a surprise that the average player is not interested in areas where they can't run Flare/Power Shot/Power Attack/Healing Breeze. There goes elite PvE, and there goes PvP, the original ultimate endgame...

Excellent post.
Answering This Question/statement:
[Let's instead look at the skins... every single one of the things you offer there are old skins dyed pale blue to look like stone.]
Yea that's because everyone gave up sending in weapon designs, reasons?
Okay the weapon designs sent in were either too high detail for Anet's pathetic little graphic quality
(Even though they're tryin to design compatibility standards) There are low rez modules. Ask John Carmack (ID Software) He'll tell you, Do a high and low rez model.
Also I've noticed There hasnt been a weapon contest in a long while. Im sure Arenanet wasnt able to aquire new weapon skins within that parameter of tikme required. There is still time to have a contest. Choose the 5 maybe 6 best designs. Build in Both HIGH and LOW res models THAT way all players continue to stay happy. I'm well aware of Anet must do to satisfy those who've won the Design contest.
Work it out. Dont just say it's too hard and walk away.
Yea I know. It's just business. But im a graphics RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO and I love seeing new textures and panels of color.

I think this post completely validated my decision to save my money and not buy GW:EN. Remember Gaile and co. that your choice not to address these (and other pertinent points) is costing you money. Not that I think Gaile would care, I think it's painfully obvious that as a CR Manager, Gaile only succeeds when discussing inane points.

i agree a lot of the new armor and items for pve chars are crap and need we expected better quality gear

Did the Factions team develop EoTN? That would explain a lot :P

I see only a fraction of that post addressing any real issues the rest seems like whinning from " LEET " players. No matter what happens there is someone who will be unhappy about something. I think if you read Jeff's comments he pretty much said what needed to be said. Let's put this in perspective if your going to use the argument about " End Game " or " Higher Lvl Content " just what percentage of players do you honestly think fall into that category ? They are not going to make an entire expansion to please a small percentage of the gaming community it has to appeal to the majority. The game costs nothing get's great support and honestly between 3 chapters and one expansion there is plenty to keep a person busy for hours. If your that un-happy go play another game.

no beginners area included so level 20 it is.
the hardcore farming community saw level 20 content and leaped at the conclusion this would be one giant combination of DOA/UW/FOW with instarich drops.
they were wrong.
here is what Anet said
Quote:
Guild Wars: Eye of the North is the first true expansion for the Guild Wars franchise, providing new content geared exclusively for level 20 characters. |
Lucifer PVP
My only major issues with GWEN; Tormented weapons are not included in HoM, the elite dungeon is not even comparable to any quest in DoA and Destroyer Weapons are too easy to acquire.

The Prophecies Team got GW:EN done a.s.a.p. so that both teams could then focus on GW2.

Forget the stats, who cares what the stats are. Someone will like the stats. Let's instead look at the skins... every single one of the things you offer there are old skins dyed pale blue to look like stone. As Souske likes to ask: Are you kidding me? Even the Forgotten at the end of Nightfall had some cool skins (i.e. the Forgotten Blade). I mean, I might have thought the Dwarven Axe was cool if it wasn't, you know, available as an inscribable skin from a collector in the Central Transfer Chamber. |

Your post reflects many things I was wanting to say. Your letter was very well written and no flaming. Great work. I hope we get something back from this. As of now I haven't read all 13 pages but I am about to start.

In other words, I wouldn't count on a dev post for the next few months. If they do post, they'll get torn to shreds.

When you can beat the dungeons in under an hour with stupid builds like RC war, BB monk etc. there's something wrong.

Gaile said many months ago that she could get the identical forum information by reading the posts and not saying a word.
she also stated she could link relevant threads to the team that was working on that aspect without posting a thing.
Anet gets the identical feedback information with or without Gaile/Andrew posting a thing and getting flamed.
i have seen several wait til Gaile shows up and watch me get her posts.
her job is COMMUNITY relations not *LYNCH MOB VICTIM*
when there is a community to relate to instead of a lynch mob maybe they will be back.
they do not have *kick me* as part of their job description.
sad true but there is a lynch mob here instead of anything resembling a community
very sad indeed is guru decline

Please watch this interview with James Phinney.
It makes it very clear that EotN was never intended to be exclusively DOA / Hard Mode content.

Well it's a good thing that I see myself not one of the Lynch Mob Croud.
And I don't think this thread was made by the OP to create a post and I will kick you in the back attitude.
Though what I think is that Gaile could make a, or any response towards the community on the points made by the Op. I think it shows lack of faith towards the community by not responding at all.
If people think Gwen was rushed, and Gaile / Andrew don't respond it just reafirms our suspicions. Personally I wouldn't know how Gaile or Andrew should make a response towards the community, then again I don't do PR for anet. Though I would think Anet has to make " a " Response to the community, concerning gw:EN.
On another note, I still would like to know when, if we still get other ways to pay for the Guildwars Shop. It bugs me that we don't get any update if they are still considering this or not.
