Well I dont see what they can nerf, its a very basic build and the visages have already had a hard hit from the nerf bat, and also this isnt very dangerous or bottable so i doubt anything will happen.... but as for VWK i fear we may lose that one eventualy

So far 25 runs 35 ectos later not including some sweet gold eternal bows and shields. Well worth my time to farm these. Having never farmed the UW with a warrior only ranger with a trapping group, this by far is the easiest way. I'm still averaging about 13-16 mins a run. My best run so far was 3 ectos and 1 gold eternal shield req 10.
Now only if this can be done in hm

The icy weapon basically gives you some extra damage against the Graspings as it bypasses their +20 AL against physical damage by doing elemental damage instead.
It CAN be done with a normal axe, but slightly slower.

trade triple chop for echo if you're good at pulling. Far more efficient when combo'ed with whirlwind attack. Plus you can spam cyclone axe quicker anyways.

Also Combine It with Cyclone Axe Instead of WhrilWind as you need cyclone axe or triple chop to charge whirlwind as it cannot charge itself.

Yeah if you have high enough points in Inspiration you shouldn't take ANY damage from the Graspings.
If you wanted you could hack away at them 1 by 1 only refreshing your physical resistance, but that'd take a while.
It's a lot easier if you aggro them all at once and just spam your AoE attacks

just got the armor and weapons for htis and have been trying it... i'm doing something wrong because almost every time an aatxe or 2 follows me down.
Or i cant seem to pull all the graspings.
I'm wondering if theres a nice W/Me that runs this that can take me with them, so i can die and just watch once or twice? I'll pay for entries.

I often run victo's bulwak because it looks cooler and has +30hp so yeah -2-2 is not required

i like using an Aegis with -2 stance +45 stance and the zealous encht axe, my best run was 9mins, its a fun run, i like trying to beat my time

Well I finally gave up trying to ignore this thread (purely because I knew I would probably fail :P) and tried it. I brought a new set of armor, got some weapons rustled up and hit the UW.
So far its been pretty disaterous (sp?). I've rarely been in the UW before so I hardly knew what to do :P. Anyway out of 7-8 tries I only ever completely ran it once (not a single good drop...). I've managed to reach the smites probably 4/8 times (darn lag) but I forgot to switch to te Zealous Axe.
Anyway the main problem I'm having is the Aataxe. I've tried running behind Benton, and they do get snared there, but they stay there. If I want to run up the stairs the Aataxe will most likely follow, or sometiems he manages to get through Benton. Any tips?

Well after nearly giving up I gave myself a max of 3platinum to try again. First try, lag death into Aatxe.
Second try-wasnt watching properly and trapped by Aatxe in the part before the door (on the way to Smites) Third try-Lag made me aggro Coldfire Nights After that I had collected enough items and gold to get 1 platinum, so I thought I'd give it another try. And as fate may have it I made it to the Smites and got two ectos (my first ever ectos ever!), but then I accidently forgot to change to Zealous Axe and got Smited (pun intended). Anyway now I know I can do it, so thats alot for the build and guide!

I have a problem with this farm, is not working for me
 I have everything like you said , the -2 dmg while stance shield, all the knights insignias in all 5 armor pieces, a sup. absorption on chest armor , but smites still doing +3 dmg each , and I have PR on , and I am not cuttingit with bonnetti Please any help ? what is wrong ?

you can never have always 0 dmg with this build just 0-1-3 Well , I am getting the 0-1-3 dmg , but that is enough to take me out , I mean for mass aggro with axe build, most of the times smites do 3 dmg per hit , if you have like 16 smites = dead , maybe your -2 dmg while stance and -2 dmg while enchanted shield is keeping you alive.

I had the same prblems as you malevolence. To solve the problem I took Lion's Comfort as a self heal instead of Cyclone Axe. Although it may be slower (usign CA instead of TC to recharge WA) it saves me from dying. Before I took Healing Signet, but the 2 second activation was rather lame (and interrupted). Lion's Comfort only usese adrenaline, something which I get plenty off. I just use Lion's Comfort every time you are able to.

Man, I'd like to thank the guy that came up with this build, I have been running it and dont even feel like doing W/Rt simply because I dont think you can get any faster than this.
Anyway Some general warnings : 1 - After the first smite group, ocasionally you may find yourself surprised by a group of smites wich my friend nicknamed them "The cannibals", those smites start attacking the other smites and/or coldfires, wait a few seconds after the battle is over so you farm whats left, because they might still have SoJ on. Also if the battle beforementioned happens it may ocasionally make a group of coldfires become stationary, wich in some cases may cut your run by half, but dont /resign yet, aggro and break it off them and they will return to their original patrol route. 2 - Breaking the coldfire's aggro : dont enrage/sprint when you're slowed, bring a cold shield to switch, hide behind walls and mostly importantly sidestep. The best way for me that I found to sidestep shard storms ( wich are projectiles ) is to sidestep 1 side during the skill activation and sidestep to the other side when the skill activation bar gets full. If you draw them away enough from their original location they will cease to chase you. That really saved me many k's 3 - "lag aggroing coldfires" : that might have happened to you already, especially if you like to chase the coldfires closely while getting to the safe spots, it looks like the coldfires aggro even with you not touching them with your bubble. What really happens is that when one of those Nightmare thingies pop up close to a coldfire group, that nightmare kind of become part of the group "telling" the coldfires you're there getting their precious ectos. Just unaggro the coldfires. Edit : Did not see the video, I was downloading my p... I mean something else =P

I must say you are brave going into the UW without some form of a self heal.
Nice build and time. What's the average ecto rate per 1-2 runs? I haven't solo'd the UW for sometime and last time I got no ecto drops. Timestop

No. And why would they nerf this? it has no overpowerment and only works here, it doesn't make you invincible, also only a small minority of UW farmers use this build. (if any lol)
If they were to nerf this build i would expect it to be the visages again. (its already been nerfed with duration and recharge) besides if they did nerf this it wouldn't bother me, there are many other builds, w/rt for example. I just like this build because its more warrior like lol, and its challenging and fast. Loki Seiguro
