Sounds like you're a little pissed off, trying to belittle the existence of something that means nothing (at least to you).
Took my ranger to LS with heroes/henchmen and a couple of guild groups. Never (and I mean not once) did I map out of an area or a mission to avoid dying. Yes, I played very carefully and I think learned to play better trying for the title. I gave much more thought to skill bars, pulling, where I was and what escape routes I had but I never left to avoid dying and losing the title. Nor did I XP farm or expect guild members to shepherd me through areas.
If you can't believe that then that's your problem. To me, it would result in a cheapened (if not worthless) title. Instead, on the way to LS, I completed 18 Elonan missions, 7 Canthan missions, 10 Tyrian mission, vanquished 5 areas, completed 4 HM missions, did every quest I could lay my hands on, mapped much of Elona, capped useful skills but didn't cap my way to the title either (capped a total of 23 skills on my way there), farmed sunspear points up to about 11K total -- picked up more in HM but that grind got old fast, and farmed lightbringer points up to lvl 3 there.
I worked hard for that my Legendary Survivor title, I became a better player while trying to get it, and I tend to get annoyed at people like you who blanket everyone who has the title with statements like ". . . you frustrate the game for all the players on your team because
you leave whenever you're about to get nicked" and "The only way to not die in GW is to leave when you're just about to die, much to the chagrin of every other player in your party." You don't know how people got the title so if you're jealous, deal with it. If you don't like the fact that the title exists, deal with it (there are titles I think are worthless but that's just my opinion). If you don't like how people go after the title, that is the fault of the player -- not the title. Deal with that too.
Admittedly, it is a title in a game. Means nothing in real life. But nothing accomplished in a game does. Still no reason to slam everyone who goes after Legendary Survivor (or any other title) in the game. Grow up.
