GWEN reputation points are now EXTREMELY easy to make, so please stop complainig now!
freekedoutfish
After this update of adding HM and chaning the handbook and dungeon book rewards....
...if anyone else still complains that reputation points in GWEN are a grind to make, I think we should honestly all hunt them down ingame and laugh at them.
Once you complete the game you should come away with 40k points for NM quests, and 30k points for NM dungeons.
Thats a very easy 70k Anet is giving you in points for just completing all quests and dungeons, and you get even more for doing it in HM.
So please.... dont anyone else complain that its grind to increase these reputation ranks! Anet has done what you wanted and basically given the points away on a silver-platter, so be happy and go get your armor and weapons and max your skills out.
But please no more comments complaints about skills+title ranks! Atleast not in GWEN!!!

Ner it is still to hard we should get 1k points everytime we get a kill. [/sarcasm]

The double points weekend seems to have nerfed the loot drop worse than it already is. After 375 monsters dead in the Lake region, I got 300 gold (which was then shared of course) and a few whites. That's it. lol Thank goodness I got the Norn rank I wanted.

I don't care that the treadmill is easy to run; I resent being forced to be on a treadmill.

If only all titles were as easy as deldrimor....

The OP is over-stating the case.
Yes, the grind has been drastically reduced. And book rewards have gone from being ludicrous to being reasonable. Which is great compared to the old system.
However, if one wants to max those titles, a whole lotta grinding is still required.
Especially since "the easy 70k" described in the OP is only after doing all primary quests, all dungeons which is a considerable amount of time. And after all that it only gives 70k to one title tier (not the 3 needed) and only on one specific character. So you gotta multiply "the easy 70k" accordingly, which still amounts to a huge amount of grind time.
A drastic reduction in grind from the previous ludicrous amount is not equivalent to the non-existance of grind, as the OP seems to be implying.
Therefore, despite the grind being drastically reduced, complaints about grind would still be reasonable with things as they now stand.

Agreed. This is a step in the right direction and they're getting their heads out of their arses by doing away with the major grind.
Now they need to redo the armors.

140kx4 = 560k I need to farm. That's 18 dungeons in hard mode nine and a half times or so. That's still something to complain about.
A11Eur0
Yeah but that's to max the titles. Maxing titles requires grind no matter what the title is (other than legendary guardian)...
What this solves is the grind required to take advantage of the NPC's...sure skills can be improved with going higher but even then, focus on one title track at a time for the skills that you use most often(from what I've seen, Dwarven title track).

Not gonna lie, they made a bug update which basically stopped you from farming the last mission im pretty sure on a count of getting 10k points for a 5 min run

Sorry, but this thread = fail.
Redfeather1975
I think it's very cool that they did that to the books.
I might come back and play EotN again to finish the story and get some armor.
That's a very good change.

Now just uncustomize the damn things so I can steal from my other chars who haven't turned in yet.

Grind is still grind, there's just less of it now.
It's like if someone keeps punching you, you think they're not nice. But then they slow down the punching and you think, "Wow, this is great because he isn't punching me as much as he could!"

I wasn't aware that playing through the normal content of the game is considered "grinding" now.
You folks are bizarre.

This is a commendable step backwards. The game was becoming more and more about grind, and disappointing many people I hang out with. While it is still there, anything that lessens the grind gets my vote, so thanks Anet. Here's hoping they do more to get back to their roots.

None the less, it is still a requirement for items in the game.
Until such time as I can go buy my glasses or whatever else my heart desires without having to work on a title I don't want, it will always be to much.

geez this so called grind in gw is absolute nth, look at other games and u will see what real grind is
Omnidragon42
I'm sick of people complaining about the grind to max out the titles, in my opinion, maxed titles should require some grind, as they are meant for prestige, not something everyone should have by default. I enjoyed grinding my titles, even if it was a little tedious, I got Legendary Delver tonight, and should be getting Slayer of All tomorrow night. I'll take my time getting the Asura title, and I don't care about the Ebon Vanguard one. If you don't want to grind for the titles then don't. But don't come here and whine about it, I think we're all sick of reading it (and posts like this one too, so I'll shut up now).
EPO Bot
People who complain about grind are usually the ones who used to have grotto armor at level 10.

Key point - even it were so simple, why is it fine to only have access to armour crafters *after* you've finished the last major part of Guild Wars 1? Is armour just for HoM filling now?

Give me a break.

Sorry but OMG! 90% of games on the market ask you to atleast play them once before you unlock stuff!

You get varied points depending on how many pages you have completed when you hand them in. 8 pages you get around 3k points NM and a full book you get 40k points NM.
Its more for HM and the same applies for dungeons.
You can also exchange them for experience points and gold (i think). Anet has once again made our lives very easy and people are still complaining.
=HT=Ingram
lol good thing I had several books saved up. I knew this was going to happen, so it was well worth it... Asuran armor here I come. lol Just kidding I would never waste the gold on armor, But the extra power to pain inverter... that is worth it right there....

Grind:
Everything.
The word grind can be used to describe simply everything in the game. This game and every single one on the planet. Because it doesn't matter how low you set the bar, there is allways some person to bitch and whine about the bar being too high for the simple sake of getting attention.
Remove all titles = cure for all? Nonsense. Many of you don't seem to have been playing in the early days. Back then some folks even bitched about having to do missions and regarded them as grind - on their first play through the game. Now you may say "lol, that's no grind, that's playing the game?!". Well to them it seemingly was enough grind to bitch and whine about it.
Now here we are again, saying "that's no grind, that's playing the game" and see who is the one crying a river now.
Yes, there is lots of Grind in Guildwars. In fact, it is 100% Grind, it is just that the perception of such differs from person to person. Removing the grind from Guildwars can only be achieved in one way: Shutdown the servers. Otherwise there will allways be some folks that want to have it even easier.
Speaking about Grind in comparison:
The Grind-O-Meter:
No Grind [...X.............................................. ...........] Korean Grind
So get a perspective.

This might have been posted elsewhere, but my monk had already beaten the game and turned in her book a few weeks ago. I was a little bummed, but I bought a new one and found I just had to pay some gold to get it completely filled out again.
Thank you Anet.
Of course, I tried it again and had no luck with that.

4 Completed HM Books + 10 K rep already = maxed title, you only need 3 quests and 800 gold for 8 pages. Hardly calling that grind.
