Who here uses PvX WiKi builds?
Angelus...
I use PvX to give me a little inspiration. I love taking a bar off their site and making it new and unique. I admit though, I've taken a few builds off of there. But hey why not? The guys over do know what they are talking about (well, most of them).
RotteN
never used it, never will.
I've played this game for far too long to need a website to tell me what skillbar to run to achieve a certain goal.

I look at the ratings before the builds, generally.
I do use some PvX wiki, but I play with them as time goes on. I take a couple attribute points out of something maybe, and put them into something I believe needs it more. Crap like that.

i use wiki for farming builds and heroes.
time to time i will get ideas off them for my own builds, and then test out my own build compared to the wiki one to see which one is better.
if wiki has a build that is better then the one i have then of course i'll use it.

I have used a lot for guides to get started but I don't have a build I have gotten off there that is the same. I always tailor them to my playing style. I do run some hero build off there for something new since there are a few classes I don't play alot so I am not too educated on their skills. Some of the farming builds are interested but again I always edit to tailor towards the skills I have and how I like to play the game.

While most people say they don't, their lie or are ignorant.
Most people's builds are already on pvx, wether they got them from there is not the point.
So yeah, 90% of the people use ''Wiki'' Builds.

As for my answer, PvX wiki for PvE = good, PvX wiki for PvP=U ARE FAIL MAKE A REAL BUILD!!!!

I get builds from friends but for heroes and/or farming i use Guru and pvx
CyberNigma
I do. I'm a full time reverse engineer (legally) an d I have neither the time nor the energy after I get off work to think out new builds all the time. i just like going in and killing stuff (Marine Corps vet) and doing the quests/missions/sightseeing. Every now and then I'll expend the time and energy to come up with my own builds for messing around. I like to see the content more than I like messing with builds. Thena gain, i'm the kind of guy that likes to play warhammer 40k (the real one, not the computer one, which I also enjoy playing) without spending too much time painting my minis.

I use PvX wiki on the rare occassion that I need to look up some gay bullshit bar that involves multiple instances of faggotry, although I can't remember the last time I did so and therefore have no relevant example to cite.
usually though, obs is better

getting new builds off of obsa mode is better then pvxwiki.
inf fact it does like this:
your own build that you design (provided it is not nuking assassin etc), then obs mode builds from high en pvp matches, then pvxwiki build.
one of the funniest this is the 3 necromancer sabway teambuild... been using almost the same build with my necromancer since the release of nightfall

I daily check PvX-wiki and gamependium just to do some research one what builds people will be running. I also get a lot of inspiration from those builds. I usually take the builds and reform them to my likeness making them better .
Sometimes in AB you can just spot those pvx-wiki users and then you just make a counter build and their all f**ked.

I have and always will, but I mostly change the build and make it useful for me.

I got tired off it and got my account purposely banned. Lots of fail builds get voted great and lots of great builds get voted poor. The only thing worth contributing to was the trolling, which they decided to stop.

Who needs PvX when you have Ursan?
I use it for hero and myself as starting points and farming builds completely.

Nowadays most of my builds are variants of the PvX builds, not coz I looked but because I design my builds and then look on PvX and find it or something similar there.
I will admit to copying builds from there, but mainly for gimmick builds in RA (Like the Rt/A With [Grasping Was Kuurong]. However, for monk or ranger (my two mains) I make my own builds which are variants on them.

If I need builds for heroes (when i dont know their profs) I ask guildies.
I don't farm, so don't need farming builds, and I prefer playing around with builds till I find sth that works...

I take builds from that site and tweak them up a bit. For example: there was a build that has adrenaline attack spike using DS. I kept the attacks and two skills, one starts adrenaline and the other is an IAS. The others I've changed to keep me alive at the field, just a bit longer at least. It was mainly used for PvE and it did good for me in general battles. After a while I stopped using it. Now I'm using my own thought of build that's far more superior in PvE. However, when I look at a few forums here other people got one of the ideas from the build and I never post it. Just coincidence.
legion_rat
I look at some and try them out here or there. I usually mod them and do something on my own. I have 2-3 farming builds and none of the orignal builds for pve

I love watching the people who disdain wiki and then run around with a build containing stuff like [Orison of Healing], [Flare], [Power Attack], etc.
XxkanexX
i usualy use them, with siome of ym own modifications jsut to give it soem flavor of ym own, the only build i sue from wiwki that issnt changed at all is the crip shot ranger, thats just cuz i think its more or less eprfect

I use PvX all the time ...
it's a human trait you know... it's how knowledge advances...
imagine if everyone said "I don't want to use YOUR FIRE. I'll invent it myself!"

Even if you didn't find it on PvX, if it's a good build it's probably there. If it's not, your build probably sucks. PvX isn't completely comprehensive, it has some crap on it (not much outside of "other"), but it's damn close.
Fitz Rinley
I use PvX wiki builds as follows:
My favorite builds are PvE only builds that I have made myself or developed with members of my guild/alliance.
- As an inspiration on those skill areas I have not explored as much yet.
- To gete through the nerf batting. I run 10 characters, one of each class, with the constant nerfing and screwing up of things that I had working, I dont have time to review every way in which I get messed over by the nerf bat. Sometimes I just have to dump what used to work grab something others find workable and tweak for what I enjoy.
- To be a part of a unit. Unit training and structure requires people to be able to expect efficient use of effects from certain possitions in the unit. Team builds are paramount in preparation for that - especially when everyone cannot afford to maintain or get working TS/Vent, etc. (for whatever reason).
