Polymock is not fun!

I was no good at it. Beat the first guy on the first try, but I was beat by the second guy right before I finished off his last piece.
Handed the reigns over to my little brother. He lost against the second guy on his first try, but then beat him on his second. Then he beat each one in order after that on the first try. He had less trouble with the master's quest guys than he did the second guy you face.
I guess all of that Pokemon playing payed off. Or I just stink at it.

Ohhh, I can honestly say - with no embarrassment - that I just stink at it. I even have a Ruby Djinn (thankfully did not pay 40k for it) and am still having trouble with Blarp!

If you have a Ruby Djinn and you're still having problems, perhaps you've forgotten to bring your ruby Djinn. Be sure to click the Djin whne asked which piece you want to bring.
All jokes aside, just open with the Djinn and Spam SF, Glowing until blarp's earth ele is dead. Kill as much if his Ice ele as possible, Use the turtle and whichever other piece you like to mop up the rest.

Wow i love polymock and the only bad thing is that its too easy, maybe because i look on guildwiki to see what pieces to use on each guy and the only one i had trouble with was master hoff who took 3trys

I'm bringing the Ruby.... what seems to be happening is that I've got a nasty delay at times - I did much better when I refused to play polymock except when my little circle was green. lol Just hated to think ping could really cause that much of a problem, so I'd not really paid attention to it until reading this thread.

Forgot to add - I found Ruby Djinn, Fire Imp, then Kappa most effective against Blarp - in that order. Thanks again!

1) First, cast your most powerful 1 second spell. It won't be blocked as the AI will be casting glyph of concentration.
2) Then cast block to block their most powerful spell
3) Cast your 1 second spell until it is both blocked and interrupted
4) Cast your 2 second spell
Lather, rinse, repeat.
After being told this I beat polymock with 2 characters in about 30 minutes.
So, too hard to get started. Once you figure it out, too easy. A sign of a poorly designed mini-game. But at least it's just a mini-game, and not a deal breaker for GW:EN Enemies aren't nearly that predictable. Half the time I try that I end up blocking their spammable skill, and half the time I try to block/interrupt it fails for no reason. It makes no sense for you to have to do PvP to get PvE skills. It's too frustrating to play but I want the skills too much. Curse you ANet... Is Plurgg just abnormally hard or something?

The combo you quoted does work - most of the time - although several enemies do deviate at times. What ended up working for me was, well, a combination of things: 1) Playing when my lag was minimal to none (for me, luckily, that is more common than not), 2) Using the attack pattern you quoted, and 3) Very closely watching the enemy's pattern so that when they did deviate, I could adapt. Most of them will use a glyph just before their whammy skill - if that's not working for you, remember, each whammy comes approx every 20 seconds.
Oh, yes, and biggest lesson - keep an eye on your energy too. I noticed that when I did have problems, it was because I wasn't paying enough attention to my energy and the extra few seconds it takes to select another skill (after realizing that the one I'd already selected wasn't casting because I didn't have enough to cast it DOH), etc etc, can seriously cost you. All else said, it is truly best to have strategy based not only on your enemy, but on your pieces - for example, you may not need to need use the Ice Elemental's 2-second skill (armor), so modify the pattern accordingly.
Once you get through the first time, each additional chara is no problem. I saved the last 3 purples and gold from my necro for my monk and monkey walked through everyone.
In answer to your question - Plurg was hardest for me, even harder than Hoff.

The game itself I do agree is completely annoying. Although it is similar to pokemon, there are many things different from pokemon. The main thing would be the speed, and the amount of time you have to think about your next move... which is close to nothing. You have to be quick on your feet.. or I guess "quick on your mouse" would be more appropriate.
As far as the rewards come, The reputation points are just sad, the pieces you win are usually needed for the next match. The only reason someone would even consider trying this game is the asuran summons. Although these look sad, they are actually really cool. I thought I would be disappointed by the summon mursaat skill, but it turns out I like it. It works exceptionally well with an Urusan build, along with Ebon Vanguard Assassin support.
Now, I personally don't like the game, but decided to take the time to learn it. I had played it before, and got to Blarp out of pure luck.. Then I quit playing.. Last night I decided to try again, and within 2 hours I beat Hoff. All you need to do is read the guides on what pieces to use. There is another Strategy I used: Highest Dmg 1 second cast time Spell->Polymock Block->Polymock Glyph of Concentration->Your 2 second cast time spell.
This combination is perfect to start out with because of the following things.
1) Your opponent always uses Polymock glyph of concentration at the start of every battle (there were rare occasions in which they used a leech signet, but that was only when I was beaten by the opponents piece and they needed to regain energy).
2) After they cast glyph of Concentration they will obviously cast their highest damage spell, so by using polymock block fast enough, you can prevent this high dmg.
By starting the battle correctly, you can gain a major lead on your opponent.
Now it's time for my polymock PWNAGE moment..

I actually managed to beat Plurgg, but Blarp is incredibly hard because the interrupts don't work. My main character is a Mesmer who can interrupt one-second spells with ease outside of Polymock, so I doubt ping is an issue, but Power Drain always fails to stop either of the Earth Elemental's spells even when cast early to compensate for lag and casting time. Yet the computer can somehow use the same skill to easily interrupt you. This is ridiculous...
I Might Avenge U
I noticed that there was like a 1/2 second delay when using the interrupt skill, so it's best to use it when your opponent is using his 2 second cast time skill.

Well, I bought a Naga Shaman for 15k started at the beginning and wound up beating Hoff(Tournament rules and all) in about an hour. No skill at all just waited for their interrupt then cast my high damage skill then my second high damage skill. Never had to even try any of them more than once. THe Shaman pwned all of them.
I'm Losing Your Sanity
i really hate polymock, personally i find it to challanging and time consuming. also it appears to be filled with glitches, like just recently, both the opponent and i were on our last peice and i was winning, suddenly all of my spells stop working because my computer claims that i am out of energy even tho i had 4 energy left, therefore not letting me cast any spells, not giving me energy with the signet, and letting me just sit there until i am ready to kill someone.
=HT=Ingram
I would have LOVED this HUGELY if this would have been a new PvP 1vs1 arena... but what it is now its just kinda boring. once you do it for the skills and pieces there is little reason to do it again.

It's not horrible, I think people who play mes/ranger will have the easiest time since they are use to interupting, and that is was keeps you alvie. I don't like that it kills you when you loose a piece....I probably wont play again now that I finsihed the quest, the summons are nice. Maybe when I get another LS, I wont risk death before that.
I usaully pick random Purple Pieces, I usually use Mursaat+Ice Imp to wipe out tired pieces. Mind Shock/Freeze ftw!

There are some guides on wiki about how to improve your chances and success at polymock. But yes, it absolutely can be frustrating. Despite sound tactics, it still can come down to your connection speed and reflexes.
