I currently use a razor diamondback and absolutely love it. I were going to get the GW deathadder, but i wanted it in blue only. My diamondback is good enough though, once you get used to using it on full responsiveness, there is no going back to a lame cheapskate mouse.

It doesn't help you play any better.

$19.99 is best price for a mouse. Honestly...you're pretty much wasting money past that point.
My headset and mic cost $22.99. Cheapest at Bestbuy

For GW, you are correct. For FPS games and other apps where speed and accuracy are critical, the cheap low end mouse won't cut it.

Imagine having to aim at the "+" sign below:

[--+--]

If your mouse only move in increments of [--------------] due to a low end sensor, then you're going to have a hell of a time putting the mouse pointer over the intended target unless you drop mouse speed to something very small. However, if you do so, now your mouse can't cross the screen in under 2 seconds, and it gets worse as your screen resolution goes up (mine is at 1920x1200).

Indeed.

If this were a Counterstrike forum, then by all means, extrapolation of the best mice (?) would be an excellent topic.

Fortunately, this is Guild Wars.

True, but stating "$19.99 is best price for a mouse. Honestly...you're pretty much wasting money past that point." isn't correct either. If you're running GW at 1080p+ resolutions like myself, then you'll notice how ridiculously slow mouse turns can get at low DPI settings, and how choppy they get at high acceleration.

People get what they pay for. If they want a cheap $20 mouse for low-res GW game play and nothing more, then the $20 mouse is fine. If they run high end gaming hardware like myself, or do FPS and graphics editing, then they have to look for higher performance solutions to match their tastes and requirements.

Higher end mice are usually ergo-optimized as well, and these are much easier to use over many gaming hours than conventional mice since they minimize mucle stress and fatigue.

I'm not so sure i'd brag about being so cheap like that, especially on the headset. With a headset that cheap you're essentially punishing yourself with piss poor quality sound. To each his own though, i suppose.

It works fine. I've had this mouse for two years. The headset for about 8 months.

If I were playing UT, CS, or SC at high levels, I'd have a $60 mouse. But I'm playing GW, and while that mouse is interesting and I can easily afford it, why would I spend the money on it when the mouse isn't going to improve my performance on GW?

I suppose that's all I'm asking.

My opinion? Waste of money. Sounds and looks like a normal mouse to be but just has the Guild Wars logo on it. I highly doubt it does anything differently than any other mouse despite what it says. You can attack on target using the keyboard too (control, space), and select the target by using the tab button.

I know that's all you're asking. But i was mostly commenting on the overly cheap headset you were kinda bragging about. Cause going cheap on that is even worse than cheaping out on the mouse.

None, I don't play anymore.

Some people are mistaking this "high-end mouse" shit to be some kind of science and waste of money, or something.

In reality, skill is going to be the ultimate benefactor in a match of CS or your preferred choice of FPS. But, a mouse like a G5 isn't very expensive ($45 or less USD), and it's function is more so than it's "super precision" and "2000 DPI."

It has amazing comfortability, some buttons, and a lot of customizing. Sure, you can just crank up the sensitivity manually, but how much of a hassle is that? We all know that a program can handle a mouse pointer speed differently, and that's why something like a G5 can just switch to a slower/faster speed quickly (PRESS!) and there you go. You're paying for functionality and ease, as well as comfortability. The precision comes as a helper of sorts, but in reality, it doesn't really matter that your mouse is precise as shit if it feels weird in your hand.

I wouldn't recommend this... makes the person sound like a cheap-date j/k I do recommend keeping cost out of the picture unless you know that low cost is truely a requirement (I'm sure many of us have do have deep pockets but won't necessarily brag about it given its poor taste). Besides, as pointed out above, good quality mice need not be in the $100+ range. The Logitech G5 is an excellent choice at $45USD pricetag.
