Doesn't make it impossible, just that nobody knew how to do it.
Following your logic, before anybody had reached the Crystal Desert (for example) it was impossible to get there.

Someone told me I had to get a run from Ascalon to get to the desert when I had been on GW for a week. They also said they went there to go farming. I was utterly confused about how a desolate area can grow profitable plantation... @_@

If anyone tries the Alt-F4 in a pug im in ..I always reply "it just took a screenshot" you would be surprised at the number of disconnections you get back!!

Another urban legend I may be able to think of is that jade/amber weapons have a chance of salvaging into jade, or amber. Its never happened to me though, but I think its a rumor anyway.

It's not a rumor, it's true. It has never happened to you because it's a small chance.

After helping a noob player out in PvE a looong time ago, he kept PMing me to chat and to ask for advice etc.
At some point he proudly declared that his mother had eBayed a million gold for him. He had spent a fair chunk of that already by buying 5 superior absorption runes at the then current price of 100K each, to put on all his armor pieces. He was somewhat disappointed when I told him the rune has a global effect that doesn't stack.

Terror shield. A few people out there still beleive this one...

pressing tab cycles targets(every 1 knows this)
but...
pressing alt+tab cycles them in reverse

edit: and heres another... f1-f4 are your "normal weapons" f12 is teh "secret weapon", but u gotta hit "y" right after otherwise you lose control of it and blow up =P lol

Once a guy told me he would take his heroes into an instanced area and let them fight by themselves (he would just stand there doing nothing). That way, his heroes would get more experience points...

Shift and tab, alt tab will swap your windows

Actually, if you stay out of the aggro bubble, I see no reason why they wouldn't get more Experience points than if you were to fight.

The urban legend that any W/Mo is a loser and always carries mending and thinks they're an uber tank that could take on anything solo... Actually I find this to be true in many cases... *cough*

Oh and I'm surprised I haven't heard this one mentioned yet... r7-8 (max damage) weapons don't drop anymore. I hear it a lot =/ I've never gotten one myself but I'm fairly certain I've seen a friend of mine get one while we were in a group.

How about this ridiculous urban legend...

-You dont open the 1st chest in FoW after completing Rastigan's quest "Tower of Courage" because (get this) it makes subsequent enemy loot better.

I understand most groups want you to be level 20, but you dont HAVE to be.

Ive offered to pay 5k+cost of entry and forfeit my drops as lvl 17-18 to many groups so that I could get experience boosts from quests completed... only to be rejected for the above reason.
