Me/N
I remember the days in the shiverpeaks arena where I would raise minions while casting empathy... then get cut down by a warrior with Sever Artery and Gash.
What was your first profession *combination*?

my first was a ranger/monk. didnt want to make a warrior because my brother had one, and i just thought that the name i picked was perfect for a ranger

W/Mo for pvp in ra... good days
this was before balthazar aura nerf and 3/4 players in any given team are warriors who WILL keep hitting you even though you've got glad defense and aura up

W/E I thought I could go battlemage type deal but I had e probs never understand y... then I saw a rly ele in action and things called "mm" which I thought was stupid at the time, I mean y not called them necros? Then I found out death/blood/curses lol. Then I went E/N for Mega dmg+minions. Too bad this was in factions cuz I got flamed a lot lol.

My first character, which is still my primary character, was a Me/R.
I started playing D&D 2nd Ed and I decided to make a bard named Taliesin. Since then, he has had many reincarnations across several tabletop and computer games. Being that he is a bard and a mesmer is "performing" profession, it only seemed natural. As for the ranger, the tabletop character's weapons were a rapier and longbow. And in all honesty, I'm surprised he successfully completed the three campaigns.

Having no monks around sucked.
E/Mo was all the rage back when Ether Prodigy Heal Party was good.
so yeh...
Pre-release of prophecies (beta days)
W/N with sever artery, gash, hundred blades, thrill of victory (back when it gave HP on a kill), healing signet, plague touch, and life siphon (wtf was i thinking...)
E/Mo with firestorm, fireball, ice spikes to snare people in the firestorm, some other crappy stuff, hard res and in pve...firestorm, fireball, fire attunement, glyph of lesser energy, meteor shower, heal party, res (the only class I took with me from beta because I used to PVP with that build)<_- at the time rodgort's invocation was not buffed to today's quality so ti was every 30 or 60 seconds which means it sucked
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
after release
E/Mo --> fire then earth then air/earth hybrid build
W/R --> Warrior with pet or warrior with barbed trap to hold aggro and troll unguent to heal (since tanks were always in demand and people screamed when you heal sig)
N/Me --> blood with illusion ...vamp gaze, life siphon, conjure phantasm, soothing images for FOW's troll things, feast of corruption to go with soothing images (it worked well in presearing...)
were my 3 characters since I wanted to get all the skills through roleplay (6 classes covered) and that was the optimal setup.

The reason why Wamo was the rage in beta was because healing hands was nonelite and mending used to give 4-5 pips of regen even at low levels of healing prayers. It got nerfed before release of prophecies and people still used it because they thought it was good. Hundred blades used to be nonelite as well.
Made a ranger primary (well actually a few because I never could decide on the right hairstyle!). Was running around testing secondaries - tested the necro and raised my first stiffy!
I was sold!
So I remade the ranger into a necro and went with /me secondary. (Which also meant no pet and no spirits - which was actually the reason why I got into GW!

i had made a few test characters to learn a lil about the game (still didnt know about post) then i made a war and figured that i can leave pre fast by taking mesmer prof. in the end i got every prof mesmer skill and typically just attacked stuff then used blackout cuz i usually let my hench do all the work. those were fun times. (noob time ftw)
E/N.
I don't know why I chose N...It just took my fancy at the time I guess. All the way through to the Echivold Forest I used a mixture of Air Magic and Death Magic. Ahh, those were the days when you felt compelled to use skills from your secondary "because you could". In the Forest I came across Energy Boon which I loved dearly until I found out what Elemental Attunement was.
