How effective are you at making money?

I had some nice pieces All got sold off or deleted. Had to make a mules for ecto stacks

Being rich was boring though. I quite enjoy being poor. No one begging for cash/ecto/armbraces etc

How I made money?
- buy-resell when Sorrow Fernace's Greens were 100k+ectos also when Victo's Axe was 100k+20e.
- 55 farm Ghail's Staff from the first week of Factions and got around 2-10/day up to luck (100k+ few ectos that time)
- 55 farm Exuro's will from the first week of Nightfall (50k-70k+ that time)

dang that's great, quick pay out and all.

I'm bad, I just have ~20k in storage, one set of 15k armor. Playing for 2.5 years, I buy too many perfect weapons (not really high end skins) and don't farm. Oh and 8 PVE characters.

Most at once 1 000k + 400 ecto (8k each at the time).

Now : 2100k (spread over account) + 55 ecto. I guess if we included armour, weapons etc. there'd be more.

How I get money, not very well - the most money I ever make is from the HoH chest (r9 inscr crystalline in the first week or so of the new chest). Sometimes in PvE I get some nice weapons though (eg. Astral Staves) but never gotten anything really good from PvE.

29 months and I have 0 gold in my vault and 1.4k in my character. I am a Franciscan Monk, so I gave away everything I can give.

Im probably the worst. I hate pve and use heroes and hench when I do, and never buy keys.

Ive been playing 24 months and prbbally have 1000k worth of random stuff to my name. In this last week of hard farming I have made 200k.

26 months (though spent a year or a year and a half out of game).

Two full elite armor sets on hand, two scrapped. Probably most elitist weapons I have are just Chaos Axes and Storm Bows.

I suck, the farming God hates me. I used to have a reliable source of income from Ettin farming, and later on I made a wammo for Griffons, but with those gone, I'm doomed.

I also lack a SS necro and a 55 monk so I can't do much UWing, and Ursan has made it impossible to get into a balanced group anymore, and I can't JOIN the Ursanners as I'm R4 on my main (Deldrimor title FTW), not to mention my main is a Ranger and has very little trapping options anyway.

The money Gods hate me!

*sigh* I wish I got into UW/FoW back when ectos were worth 12k.

34 months (I can't remember how long I left for but it would have been about a year shortly before the release of Factions)

1x 15k armour set for all my pve characters (of which there are 4), Vabbian armour for my Elementalist and Fissure armour for my Warrior. I was sort of lucky on the Fissure armor because I happened to be in town when the Rare Material and Rune Traders went live. Alot of people got pretty rich pretty quickly during the first 15 or so minutes.

I also played a fair bit of underworld around release and during that time it used to drop alot more often in Underworld and often in stacks of 4. You could also buy them in ToA for 500g each (which was less than the price of Black Dye at the time if I remember correctly but still quite expensive).

Other than that I got a req 10 and a req 11 Elemental Sword back when they were sort of valuable. 2 Icy Dragon Swords on Wintersday 2006 (when they were selling for about 65kish). I got a 14>50 req 10 Sephis Axe before Factions came out and that was worth something decent but I customised it. I had 2x Henge swords but again customised both. I got a Superior Fire Magic rune from the Nebo Terrace Ettins way back before the Rune Trader and I sold that for 35k. That was cool.

I didn't get anything nice from the Dune Sea chests or the Dreadnaughts chests but I was late to the party on both.

I think those are the most valuable things that have dropped for me. I dont much like farming since it bores me to tears and though I've tried it a few times I get sick of it pretty quickly.

Currently have 190k in storage which is the most I've ever had in the vault at one time. This is nearly all from participating in the automated gvg tournaments and turning in all my reward points for Zaishen Keys which I sell for 3k a pop. The rest of the keys come from holding HoH but thats less regular. I would have more monies but when I got back into gvg I made the mistake of unlocking some armour sets to pimp out my pvp rit. Thinking that the unlocks were account wide I ended up deleting the rit and consequently wasted a whole bunch of points which I could have traded in for Zaishen keys instead. I also made the mistake of using some keys but thankfully stopped early when I noticed that all I ever got were Creme Brulees and Flasks of Firewater.

The money I get in game now is all from selling Zaishen keys and selling the random white and blue junk I get from playing hard mode pve stuff.

Making money? Horrific.

Gaining money through random drops that people don't want: Perfect.

So How effective am i at making money? Not effective... mindless farming, doenst have high end trades.. cash accumulates itself bit by bit

Although I did at one point, have approx 100 million gold in ectos and shards (when ectos were 15k ea and shards were 7k ea)

Frankly, I have no idea about how much actual worth there is on my account(s) and I couldn't care less - at this point of the game it's totally inconsequential.

What I do know is that I'm currently spending an amount of money somewhere between 800-1000k per week and since stuff only keeps piling up despite my best efforts to hand out freebies in Spamadan (in my opinion it's indecent to merch greens and good r9 rares), there must be an influx of equal or greater value somewhere.

I don't play the game to be rich, but I still managed to get everything I want with plenty of cash left over.

13 PvE toons, all with elite armor(s), at least a bag and a half on each of them of perfect weapon sets in skins that I like and use. They all have every last primary skill and elite from all games, and my hundreds of heroes are all runed and have max weapons.

I haven't farmed since a few months before EotN came out, after GW2 was announced. I don't see a point of accumulating cash anymore on GW1, since we know there is no future here. So, I just spend money now on replacing some weapon skins with newer models that I like, and buying gifts for others. I have all I need.

I'd say semi-effective. These days I've been spending more money then making it, although I am clawing my way back to 500k and I've got about 20 ectos in storage. At one time I had 1.3m in gold alone. Then I bought a set of Obsidian for my monk which brought it crashing down to about 700k. From there I slowly drained it buying some cool toys (fiery blade axe for my ele, runic blade for my warrior, nice shields for my paragon, golden pheonix blade for my monk, etc). All told I think I've made about 3-4m in gold over the past 22 months and spent, well, all but about 500k of it.

I've bought alot of elite armour (pardon me while I recall what I have):
-Ele has full Elite Sunspear, full Elite Canthan and full Elite Luxon, along with a combo set that has Ancient Robes.
-Paragon has Ancient Raiment and the rest Vabbian (need more Rubies and Sapphires to complete the Vabbian set).
-Monk has full Obsidian, a combo set that's dwarven robes/elite kurzick leggings/elite canthan boots and 2 pairs of glasses.
-Dervish has elite sunspear robes.
-Ranger has full elite kurzick and full elite druid.
-Warrior#1 has full elite plate, full elite templar and the elite ascalonian helm.
-Warrior#2 has full elite templar and the elite ascalonian helm.
-Assassin has full elite canthan, elite luxon leggings and a vabbian mask.
-Necro has full vabbian, full elite kurzick.
-Mesmer has full elite canthan, full elite kurzick, full elite nobles, and a combo set that's ancient robes, vabbian hose and boots, and another that's norn robes, dwarven hose and obsidian boots...man my mesmer is spoiled.

All told that's 1 full set of Obsidian and 1 pair of Obsidian boots, 13 sets of elite armour + 24 elite armour peices of various types (5k, 10k & 15k). That's 1035k worth of elite armour not counting rare materials, not counting non-elite sets and not counting runes and eventually, inscriptions.

When I bought my set of Obsidian ectos were worth 7.5 and shards 4.3 (still have that written down). I farmed about half to 2/3rds of the ectos, bought the rest and bought pretty much all of the shards (all told 600k, 1.3m down to 700k). My necro's vabbian was bought when those were at 8-10k each. Ele's elite luxon was bought when jadeite was still worth several k each.

Rare weapon skins...not so much as I do not like most of the rare stuff that's out there. I think the best weapon I've got is a req 8 gothic sword, which I bought off a guildy for 100k a long time ago, which is now not used as much since I got a Runic Blade.

I hate minipets, the only ones I have are the ones I get for b-day presents (I've gotten alot of hydras and only one purple, all the rest were white) or at the new year's festival. Oh, and speaking of festivals I managed to get Prosperous on the Nine Rings, which was about another 400-440k down the drain.

So between my set of Obsidian and my lucky title and all my other armours that's 2 million spent right there. Another million on nice items, runes, inscriptions and rare materials for armour.

As for making money, well 50/50 UW farming accounts for the ectos, although I usually use them or store them, rather then sell them. Alot of my money was A/E or E/A Green farming. Particularly Scar Eater and Koosun before those runs became really common. I can remember selling Scar Eater for 20-30k and Koosun's staff for 60k+ (Kai was still bugged).

I also got the occasional lucky drop. A really nice tactics celestial shield, although I forget the exact mods. Req 12 Elemental when those were still worth over 100k. I have gotten stiffed on runes though as I've never once, in 22 months of play, gotten a Sup Vigor rune.

i got a couple of million safe in my storage, without a clue what to spend it on since i hardly play these days

I'm a sad panda. I bought a Superior Absorption Rune for 90k for my War and left it in storage for a year.. now its worth less than 300g!

playing 17 months...3 sets of 15k on my war...7 sets on my ele...no FoW at all...no good weapons (not really into rare skins)...and well...270k in storage from just playing...and i get my cash from running grotto with my derv...oh and i have 1 15k set on him...but they nerfed mystic regen so i have to find another way to do the run

and the week after all come back saying they got hacked

tbh im rubbish at keeping money, can make it, but just turn around and spend it again!

I saved quite a large amount, but now I'm spending it all for stuff for HoM 'cos there will be no point in having hundreds of plat left lying around.

What game are you playing?

I mostly make my cash through ABing... farming up Passage scrolls to the deep, and selling them to the merchant... I don't really play much anymore, all I spend my cash on is signets of capture for my title.

I made about 7k yesterday just lightbringer farming hard mode for a couple of hours in the Sulfurous wastes. Mainly from getting golds and purples, and selling the runes I get off of them.

I once made 100k from farming sunspear points in hard mode in same zone until I maxed title. but that money is long gone.

Probably not the fastest methods, but it worked for me. Got lots of money and maxed titles at the same time.

Luckily I /ragequit on the game just a bit before the games of fortune came to town. So now that I am playing again - I have those 200k left that I'd otherwise "waste" on the games.

By not spending it on lockpicks, or keys unless i'm investing in my treasure hunter title. I try and farm in HM for 20, or 30 minutes everyday, and not spend it. Or I do LA - The Desert runs in my Derv for 3k slot. Adds up after a few runs. =)

Which means I suck! Seriously... I don't know if it is because I have so many characters but I am always below the 100k plat margin. I always make an effort to start farming more, but then I get side-tracked by a quest, or a skill I want to cap, or something...

Average without farming or trading: 2k per hour.
Average if I decide to farm: 20k per hour. (I usually only do so only before event that open the Boardwalk)
Trading: Nothing. It's too slow and boring and require too much annoying and user-unfriendly ways of communication.

Anytime I need something, like runes for a hero, or a new armor set, I walsys have gold enough. Although I rarely go over 100k.

I probably had accumulated close to 2 mil (500k coming from a friend) in 2 years of playing but i spent on so many weapon skins (and fow) I only have 350k in storage.. Will fill up HoM with it later.

I can generally make 1.5-3 hundred k in a week if I were to actually sit there for a 5-6 hours a day and farm/sell stuff. Just casually 5-6 hours a week I make around 50k. Thats just playing through the game with the occasional farm.

22 mil in cash/ectos/gems, 800k in the bank, Every elite Dervish armor sets(including FOW), 5 elite warrior armor sets, 5 necromancer elite armor sets, 1 Naga, 1 Yeti, 1 Oni, 4 Kunnys, 4 Bone Dragons, 4 radioactive monkeys (Mallyx), 13 Tormented weapons, 2 armbraces, 20+ req 8 weapons, 1 req 7 weapon, 110+ sup vigs, good amount of rare and common materials and weapons.

Yep. Im a power trader.

4 chars with full HOM. 50+ friends and about a dozen regular clients. Also have a habit of completing a guildhall and giving it away.

I make about 10k a day and cant save anything.

For the most part Im bad at making money. I may play a lot but I prefer to keep myself occupied, I don't like standing in spamadin selling things so I usually give away my golds to friends, the rest are salvaged for useful inscriptions or modifications, then tossed to the merchant.

I would like to thank all the people that were buying bunnies and eggs this weekend. Thanks to you I made well over 100k between the eggs/bunnies/cores. First time in a long time that I've had enough for something nice without wasting 8 hours waiting for something of value to drop.
