Another AB weekend, why force pvp on a pve title track

So why does anet keep encouraging PvP way at getting the faction title, why can't they just double faction rewards just like they did 6 months ago.
Honestly it stupid, the main rewards for faction are:
PvE only skills
Elite mission Access scolls
Crafting Materials
Those all have pve uses, so why are they only promoting the pvp way to gain faction. And not ever all the pvp parts, FA and JQ are completely untouched, and will remain relatively barren for another weekend.
So to list what mean of faction that is not being touched:
Fort Aspenwood
Jade Quary
Challege missions, yeah all 4 of them in factions
Blessings
And repeatable quests.
None of have ever gotten a decent weekend, except for the blanket weekend that occured 6 months ago. I just getting sick of the favor anets give to AB, but won't to the other means of faction farming, which alot in the pve comunity prefer.

agree. why just giving a cookie to abers? wouldnt it be easier to roll in an all around 2x donations weekend like we had in May?

I like the idea of a "blanket" weekend better - where all faction is doubled, be it balthazar, kurzick, or luxon, and the way in which a person gets it would be irrelevant.

This is a damn good thing.
AB is fun pvp, If there were more server's I'd do it for 4 hours a day =P.
Double faction is nice, stop whining =P

Also, this just gives the factions campaign another kick at life.

Thats like saying double faction for GvG

Why doesn't ANet do more different weekends?

Well actually, I can answer that question. ANet is too busy working on GW2; those who have any responsibility for GW1 are the slackers of the team, who are all too happy to just press the AB weekend button and not bother making any new weekends.

I think ANet should just stop doing weekend events so people will stop bitching about them.

That would cause more bitchin.


They should just do a Set bar weekend.

in PvP, all your bars are set for you and locked.

Thus everyone gets some pre-made builds and can't switch in pvp.

And in Pve everyone gets Triple Gold drops!

the reason there doing this weekend , has somethign to do with a new way to spend faction, and it will be for the pvpers nothing to do with pve

All people ever do is whine about weekend events. I absolutlely love them, despite whether or not it directly affects me. Sure there will be events that I don't care too much for, such as double XP from elite caps, but most of the time it changes what I do during the weekend, whether it be HA, AB, RA, Farming cookies, etc...

Stop complaining about a bonus weekend FFS

I enjoy AB's. And why should Anet appeal to the masses and scorn an aspect of the game that has become sort of a niche area to play in? And who knows, maybe AB is more popular than you think.

As some have already stated, stop complaining about these special weekends already. I'd rather have a special weekend every once and a while that I can enjoy rather than have none at all.

few ppl do complain about the events themselves, rather about having the same event multiple times while others are left alone

ex.
1 double faction donations weekend (which counts as a 2x ab weekend + bonuses for ppl who play factiong pvp)
then three 2x ab weekendsin few months.

i love ab weekends, but would love other ones aswell

Doubling faction is a poorly though out idea, think of FFF twice as quickly... instead how about doubling/tripling faction from the challenge missions?

Most people don't even seem to know about Amatz Basin and the Aurios Mines, much less where they are. Both only have people who are vanquishing, farming, w/e, and both are usually empty anyways.

And a side-note about the AB weekends, if you're kurzick it usually takes 5-10 minutes to get a game xD

Ab is very popular, problem is, lack of servers.

Thus less people tend to play because they don't want to wait.

QFT. People feel to entitled to them now and just bitch if the weekend isn't some that they particularlly benefit from.

The Faction titles are effectively irrelevant, IMO, and their linked skills with them. Speaking as a PvE player I'm not going to PvP for Faction, and the Faction gain from PvE methods of gaining it are simply too small to make it worth bothering with. FFFing feels cheap to me, but earning it "honest" involved more grinding than any other title in the game by a mile. My solution has been to completely ignore the title and the skills associated therewith, but it'd sure be nice if Anet decided to be reasonable about this.

All that said, bitching about a bonus weekend doesn't make much sense to me, it's not as though Anet's under any obligation to give us anything at all in this regard.

I quit AB due to the wait times and server issues. I used to love playing. Its a pointless weekend imho if it does not double all faction gains because as Racthoh says below, you'll still make better time elsewhere.

AB is fun, waiting to get into a match however is not. Despite the double rewards for ABing you could probably still get faction faster using one of the pve methods.
