Maybe: I felt sorry for 2 noobs I know who asked to borrow money. Lent 100k to one, lent 10k to other
Maybe: Gave 57 ectos to a friend who asked me to sell an item for him 3 days ago since he was going to be studying for tests and wouldn't be around. Was just giving him his proceeds.
Maybe: Found several staffs and an axe I have been looking for forever for sale and bought all of them. It was a good day to spend money. Had to transfer money from storage account and storage chars to help pay for the stuff.
Maybe: Got 40k back from another noob I lent money to a couple days ago that I had forgotten about. I actually got paid back for once!
There are several people in the game who have been banned many times and always get their accounts back who everyone knows should never come back yet nothing ever happens to them.
I wonder if I will get my account back... Now I get to tell my kids this weekend I can't do the new mission packs with them because Anet stole the $125 I have in the 4 expansions. Plus 10 more for the kids and storage and extra character slots makes about $500 I have into the game so far is a waste because we all play together.
Oh...and I still didn't get the 1st place Halloween contest items...
New rule if I get my account back: I WILL NEVER EVER LEND MONEY TO BE NICE. NEVER EVER HELP ANYONE SELL ITEMS TO BE NICE. NEVER EVER DO ANYTHING NICE TO ANYONE IN THE GAME AGAIN. It will be solo playing for me from now on. GG.

Something tells me that if we all had access to log files and ban reports we would find that only a very small percentage of all bans/suspensions were unwarrented. ie-Mistaken identity, victim of harrassment by reporters, ect. Out of that percentage, I'm inclinded to believe the ratio is even smaller as to how many of those mistaken bans aren't fixed a.s.a.p. Again, not saying it doesn't happen, not excusing that it happens, not saying there aren't flaws in the system. It's a shame when it does happen and it needs to be fixed immediately when it does. Just stating that the percentage of unwarrented, no-reason bans that go unfixed, is undoubtedly extremely tiny.
If over your gaming career you've been banned, or suspended from accounts 4, 5, 6...10 times, that's not typical of being unlucky, or victim of Power Hungry GM's who pick names out of hats. It's a sign you're continually doing something wrong, against the rules, and deserving of your suspension, irregardless if you "feel", in your opinion, it's not that bad. That if you're a constant, repeat, offender; You're going to be watched more closely just as a repeat criminal offender in real life.
Some people in games usually learn from the mistake. The others take the opposite road and ignore, or go a step farther to, for lack of better phrasing, "Rage Against the Machine".

I know the support tickets are slow and painful but I've always had my problems resolved with them. Just keep pestering them until they either give you a legitimate reason for the ban, or reverse their decision.

With the situation with banning in Guild Wars I'm still glad they aren't handing this responsibility to gamers. I remember when they did this in AOL and it was severely abused. People had "Guide" usernames and many of them just banned people because they had a power trip and were committing internet road rage. Just be glad they aren't doing this in Guild Wars. I know it would be much worse if they did that.

i bought gw just before Halloween, joined a rl friends guild and was happily playing the game when i suddenly get disconnected and when i try logging back in im told that im banned for spamming!
i contacts GW support only to get an email saying that i was excessively spamming the local chat channel
now the only time id really used the local channel in those 3 days of play since i installed the game when i had been chatting to a friend in local about something really mundane (i think i was talking about my cat or something) and before anyone says anything i wasn't swearing as i don't really swear unless my really angry which i wasn't angry at all
i had to wait out my 71 hour ban and missed the Halloween event but i still cant understand why i got banned for chatting to a friend in the local chat channel isn't that what its for?

The chat channel isn't there to talk about your cat. It's there to talk about Guild Wars. So, you were spamming useless crud about your cat and that is why you got banned.

His defense was that the name was okay because it was just an abbreviation. If that was indeed the case I fail to see why exactly he felt the need to risk getting banned to repeat Quebec rather than just doing something like F A Q or use Xx or something. That was all I was wondering.

I never use any internet auction. All many that I got I donation my guild officer and after 10 second he bought trader to our guild hall. Trader cost is 100k we collect money from our guild member and bought trader. All guild wars people that we collect money are from our guild and it was to develop our guild hall.
Please help me, what now we have to do?

Unlike the saying Innocent until proven guilty, the opposite is nearly always applied. Is it frustrating...yes. Is it fair...probably not. Yet, it is the cost of pushing the acceptable limits.

and with this you wonder why people are afraid to even play this game anylonger........the ban stick is way too overused, abused and half the time not even correct!
Alleran I certainly hope you get your account back.
I will go back to playing with h/h and my hubby, (and we dont chat we just yell out at each other so no chat spamming either!), and sell only to the merchant (I KNOW he likes those crystaline swords!).

It's probably because they layed off a lot of support staff to cut costs and put all their resources in developing GW2 so you probably have 1-2 people working part time doing support calls or some inexperienced support person getting paid minimum wage is banning all accounts based on a checklist. Thank god we already filled our GH before all this began.
