Bonus Mission Pack Released!
arcanemacabre
So, after having played as Turai Ossa, does anyone else get the feeling that he is of Norn descent? I mean, not only is he as big as one, he also has the skill "Giant Stomp" (Norns are said to be half-giants).

If it doesn't, then all the people saying "I got it and you didn't" might suffice for a while, I'll maybe ragequit for a week or two, but then people wont care anymore (or stop trying) and just get on with life.
Congradulations to the people who got it. Sorry for the people who didn't get it. Peace. |

When I first saw the Tengu staff, I immediately thought:

I love the undead skins, but on an off topic, does anyone have hints for beating the gwen mission or beating the joko mission? The turai ossa misison? I just barely won both of em

Wow, this is just exciting! I didn't even know that I had this bonuspack of missions! Mursaat Shield and Tengu Axe are a must-have, the missions are bit on the harder side though :F
And, as i saw Clone's comment, I think that White Mantle armor would be nice too ^^ I like the massive Warrior armor that White Mantle Knights have :P
And have you noticed that mursaat, the stone itself, is reskinned?

Perhaps not norn...but just a really big dude.

The Char Sword is possibly the best sword skin in all of GW, just my opinion, but its hard to argue with
This is giving my some high hopes for GW2, hope they live up to all our expectations.

I have to say that I've been playing Guild Wars since it came out and have enjoyed both the PvP and PvE environments of the game. The bonus mission pack was entirely worth the $5 that they stated it was worth and gave me insight into characters that are GW lore while at the same time providing me interesting new weapon skins. I'll be the first to agree that it was a bit too easy, but they are single player missions and, unlike alot of us, not everyone has the capacity to make it though these missions on their own as is. I would like to see a harder mode with more interesting items to be obtained, but I think that's unlikely as this wasn't intended to be an expansion. Overall, a great experience.
I've also been reading through alot of the posts here and seeing people complain about how the BMP was sold, having themselves deciding to purchase the boxed copy. IMO I think it's great that we're free to purchase the game via an ingame store, whereby putting more capital into the hands of the gamemakers allowing them to make it a far richer experience for all of us.

Your not getting the BMP anymore. Haha.

Ehhh... I have to say, my initial enthousiasm is already curbed quite a lot. Sure, it's all pretty cool, and 'free' so I shouldn't complain, but it has no replay value whatsoever, offering the exact same experience for all characters on my account. Also, all the solo play? Not cool. Getting some of these weapons has already turned into a chore. So I'm not doing it.

Mmmm, shall I buy another copy of GW:EN, just so I can get the BMP?

I've yet to try any of the missions though. It's like I'm programmed to go AB every time I log in or something.

Certainly for those with more than a couple of characters these have a lot of replayability- even if a couple of them aren't the most fun things I've ever done in GW (Saul...), the incentive to get the awesome rewards means it's not a chore, and they look so amazing that it's a pleasure to spend time in them.
You'd have to be very focused to then go out straight away and get all the bonuses- I'm sure a lot of people have done this, but with multiple characters and not much time to play at the moment I've found it a great combination of reward, casual play, potential for determined completism and enjoyability.
Very gg.

I have every campaign in Guild Wars. I think I am a loyal customer. I know that because I didn't get the game from the Online Store I would not get the BMP. Now I am only slightly annoyed at the fact that I bought EXACTLY the same thing as was sold in the online store and yet I don't get the BMP. I can live with that. But customising the new items? That hasn't been done in any other campaign. A Canthan character can wield ANY Elonian weapon he can get his hands on.
What would really annoy me is if people who did not buy from the online store do not get a chance to get the mission pack or have to pay a much higher price for the BMP.
At the end of the day I want to get a chance to own some of those weapons, whether or not I have to pay. It is a slap in the face already I think.

A Canthan character can wield any Elonian weapon, yes. But, no character can wield a customized weapon that has came from a promotion, besides the character that has activated it. Example: Game of the Year weapons, the Asian Coke weapons, Bonus Mission Pack weapons.
There is nothing wrong with a promotion having had customized a weapon for said-character that has activated said-weapon.
You (and everyone else who is complaining in some form or another) had your chance to own these weapons (four month chance mind you), but you opted for the other, knowing (by your own accord in this post) you wouldn't have it.
Tough fortune you guys, but ANet gave you supreme time to purchase this item. Those of us who did, congrats. Those of you who didn't, I'm sorry but get the Nine Hells over it already!
Cyclades of Knossos
Just from a story point of view I'm enjoying the BMP.
It's clearing up a lot of things about the three campaigns that didn't make sense to me. The explanation of the white Mantle and the Mursaat skill that obviously seemed like a God send against Char invasion was brilliant!
The overall story is starting to feel cohesive.
Oh and the game and weapons are good too

Ah well, I didn't purchase anything to qualify for the BMP, but I'm not complaining.
I think it's a good thing that the weapons are customised as they can be obtained an infinite amount of times. I'd prefer seeing those who purchased it wield around their lovely customised weapon skins, than someone collecting them over and over again to make a wealthy living off uncustomised weapons from those who hadn't purchased the BMP.
Besides, I just play it on my friends' account.

That is *almost* like saying Pandora that because all of us own Prophecies, that we should all instantly have access to the Aura that those who bought Prophecies Collectors Edition should have.
I didn't get it because I didn't buy it.
Those who didn't get the Bonus Mission Pack shouldn't get it because they didn't buy what was needed during the promotion.

It's only based on that aspect that I consider that the BMP MUST be released more openly at one point. If not, it'd be like restricting access to SF, which would be a very sad thing to do!

Third and last, the BMP is a PROMOTION. They come, they go, they leave. Either you get it, or you don't. Sorrow's Furnace has not and never will be a promotion, it was a update for players. There is a difference there, understand that.
Again, your right, it's a huge piece of Guildwars Lore and play. But, you missed out on the PROMOTION, not an update.
Get over your selves, all of you!

Promotions last a LIMITED time. now that u realize the bonus mission pack doesnt suck, you suddenly want it? if it did suck, u wouldnt care whether you got it or not b/c u ignored the promotion for FOUR WHOLE MONTHS. yeah you are a loyal customer buying all 3 campaigns, but as in real life, if u miss out on a promotion that is only your fault. OH NOES I BOUGHT A XBOX360 WHEN IT CAME OUT. WUT?!?! THERES A PROMOTION THATS GIVING AWAY 2 GAMES TO THE PPL WHO BUY IT DURING A CERTAIN TIME PERIOD? IM A LOYAL 360 OWNER TOO THEREFORE I SHOULD GET THOSE 2 GAMES!!!
or in the case of many many trading card games. OH WUT, THE CARDS WERE GIVNE AWAY AT AN EVENT? I DEMAND (insert generic card company name) RELEASE THE CARDS AS PART OF THEIR PACKS! OH NO THEY ARENT SELLING THEM? LAME.
