Would you rather wield a good looking weapon skin, or a bad looking rare one?

how good it looks to me is what matters most ^^ if it happens to be rare and expensive, whatever. I wouldn't spend any money on a rare item that looks like poop stats and looks come first in all scenarios.

easy for me

a good weapon is:

-NEVER GREEEN
-good looking
-non inscr if possible

(ie: i'd rather use a Tyrian Longsword Q9 than a Tribal Blade perf Q7 ^^ )

I'm always in for the good looking ones it goes for armors too. My fav skins ain't the most prestigeous ones (apart maybe from my FoW + Tormented weapons set...), but I like the way they look. F/e, I love Jeweled Staff/Shadow Staff skins, I have many of them for various occasions; all Illusion based are collector items, some are violet etc. I don't really care if a weapon is rare and/or gold as long as i like the looks and the mods

Personal preference because we all have diffrent tastes: Aslong as I like the way it looks I'll wield it. Be it rare, common, pretty to others or ugly to others.

I pick what stats I want, then look for good looking skins to match. I scan lists of greens, collectors, etc, looking for the one that looks best to me. If the skin I find happens to be a rare one, so be it. If it's common, that just means it'll be cheaper/easier for me to get

As an example, my main character uses a Charr Spear and Shield from the BMP. Not rare by any means for anyone with the BMP, but they look fantastic my with character. And of course they are modded up with the perfect stats for me.

I would never use a weapon I think is bad looking...rare or not. I would certainly use a good-looking weapon that is common.

I prefer good looking, but I'm a sucker for rarity, or at least goldness :P
If I could chose between a good looking blue item or a slighty uglier looking gold, I'd pick the gold.
And as Kobey mentioned, knowing the rarity of an item makes it more appealing

Considering how many people want an Elemental Sword? I'd say that Rarity > Looks.

I like a combination of both... I don't need a req7 crystalline or anything like that, but I do try to outfit my chars with at least one decent looking armor set (they're usually mixtures of various 1.5/15K sets but I do have a few plain 15K sets, kurz on my necro and canthan on my ranger). I even have full FoW on my male ele since it was the only armor that made him look vaguely heterosexual (no offense to anyone out there). However I do try to make most of my mixed sets out of 15K/FoW as well, since it gives me something to work towards and also a sense of accomplishment once I have it. The same goes with weapons... personally I like the colossal scimitar/gloom shield combo on my warrior, even though those two items aren't particularly rare anymore (though they were more so back then). However having spent a few hundred platinum on those items makes me feel better than using my longsword, even though I feel both swords look equally good with the shield.

So to sum it up, I go for rare items that also look good.

I like cool skins, but I'll trash/give away anything if the stats are crap. Except, you know, Crystalline or IDS or other ones that sell no matter what. :P

I had a Salient Sword drop for me once, but it was from noob island and nowhere close to maxed stats. It felt wrong to try to sell something so crappy that even the merch was only offering like 40g, so I gave it away.

Sometimes, the cheapest weapons can look the best. My favorite combo is
15k Kurzick Warrior, a platinum blade, and an adamantine shield, all dyed silver. I personally think it looks great. Almost like they were made to go together.

My Zodiac Longbow is max, perfect Zealous -of Fortitude, 15^50 inscribable, but I hardly use it because it's a longbow as opposed to Flatbow or Recurve Bow. It's my favorite looking bow skin, and pretty rare to boot, but I don't use it most of the time because I hate its function. Which is to say, I use crappier looking weapons because they function better.

Unless I'm going Splinter Barrage. That's the one time I indulge in using my favorite bow. <|:D
