Is this illegal/bannable?
MMSDome
Havent tried this at all because I wanted to wait and see what you all think but would the Drunkard Bot V1.0 here: *Removed link to prevent people from using program* be a bannable offense? Im curious because it does say bot in it and want all of your input before i go and do anything stupid
EDIT: I removed the link so no one gets tempted

I certainly wouldn't take the risk myself.
Vilaptca
I would think they would ban for something like that.
Squishy ftw
I wouldn't come anywhere near it.
shrouded^god
Its a bot...so Im guessing it would trigger 'bot behavior' which would get you banned...
IMO...dont touch it with a 10ft pole

You can't see me
If Arenanet wants you to click inventory spots 250 times each in intravals of 1-3 minutes for a title while standing somewhere, then you better not take any risks by upsetting them.

If so, pray tell, how can one advance drunkard title without wasting time.
Drunkard title is a title that can *only* be obtained with "bot behavior".
zwei2stein
I would be more concerned with loosing your account to bot software supplier.
It's common sense. Why would anyone release such soft ... out of goodness of their heart? On the other hand, people who go for drunkyard title as are pretty much guaranteed to be filthy rich, so their accounts are sweet target for breaking into... Think. there is much bigger change of logging once day and find your ass to be zeroed than having it banned, and neither is actually good or worth it to have easier time on stupid title.

And yet another means to cheapen a title - gotta love it
Xue Fang
Yea, chances are it's logged, and even if it is legit, it's bannable.

i dont think it will be, all it does is double click booze every 1 min or when ever you choose.
i doubt you get banned for that...

The terms and conditions state "no third party programs". This is a bot. A bot is a third party program. The function of the bot is irrelevant. If AreaNet find you using this, they could ban you.
MercenaryKnight
There are plenty of softwares out there that make your own macros. I don't see how a.net could detect it, unless you had it go all night long nonstop.
It's nearly impossible because all it would show is you double clicking the alcohols every minute/ 3 minutes. In my opinion, getting banned for this would be a slap in the face.
Drunkard title should be like sweet tooth. Double click 1000 times and bam theres your title. Not double click x times wait 3 minutes, double click again every minute etc.
Technically then according to eula we can get banned for making our mouse double click for us? "third party programs" would include mouse software that changes the way we play our game.

All 3rd party programs/bots are illegal, and this is a bot. It's most likely bannable, but the chances of ANet finding out you're using this bot aren't that great.

Now all that said, I'm sure this piece of software is not allowed under the EULA.
zerulus
You could probably get away with it. I don't think anet actually has a method for determining bots, they just select a random group ban them all and assume the bots won't appeal the action.

If you have EotN, you can just use that drunken dwarf skill and go nuts. You can play your character and "get yo crunk on" at the same time.

How many people double click alcohol, and never chat with guildies, friends, strangers in town? VERY few I'd guess. When I am drinking, I sit in a city. While sitting there, I talk to people in local chat. If others in my guild, or on my friends list are on, I'll talk with them. Why sit and double click, and do nothing else?
Although they would have to have someone report you, or have some odd new way of detecting a bot, you would be quite obvious as a bot using a program like that. Consuming alcohol perfectly (I don't hit at the 60 second mark every time, sometimes its 70 seconds), not using chat, not moving, etc. all scream bot to anyone looking.
Not worth it. Drink when you are waiting to form a team, chatting with friends, or, *gasp* playing the game.

not that i would waste my money on such an endeavor. 2 million gold for max title is a waste of money (and time doing it the normal way).
Harrier's haste
what's the point of having a drunkerard title anyways, all you show is how 'lifeless' you're and how many hours you spend making money. Or "cough" buying them.

As for ANY bot program, I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole!

And also, the difference between "bot like behavior" and a real person drinking is that the bot will be able to go for like 9 hours straight. A real person will have to go to the bathroom, eat, make mistakes and click one to many ale every couple hours, sleep, etc.
Johnny_Chang
I say do it and find out. And then when time passes let us know the result. The only way to know for sure

I love how the OP removes the link to protect *others* than himself from getting tempted! Tsk tsk.

I've written plenty of scripts and programs that in the end cost me more time developing them then when I'd just done whatever they did myself. It was still fun, I why should I no

In this case I'd be more worried about h4xx0rz than the EULA.

I really wish they'd just change the damn thing. If you can't possibly be pushed to get a timer and stick to it, I'd suggest using it only and ONLY while you are at the computer, chatting or selling, and not AFK.

Simply put, if you have to ask, chances are it's bannable

While I do agree that racking up 10,000 drunk minutes isn't the most fun thing in the world - this is what the title requires. Yes it's mindless - but I'm pretty sure ANet didn't want a bot to do the work for you. Otherwise, as stated above, they would have included some in-game functionality to acquire drunk minutes.

Turn off post process effects. Keep inventory and title counter open. Consume alcohol. Play game as you normally would. The only problem is that if you get into something that takes up all of your attention, you may get behind on your booze clicks. And that little annoying bit of drunk animations which can make you miss a step step at a critical time.
garethporlest18
95% of 3rd party programs are keyloggers to steal your account, never try to take the easy way out cause you'll lose everything.
No one playing a game is lifeless, because then they would not be breathing. Think logically.
To get max drunkard, pick a town and talk or go afk play another game/watch TV/read/ do something with your significant other..whatever.
