after 2 years of playing i've only accumliates 333 min's drunk.. why cause tis boring... i'd rather grind to a better title then to stadn around drunk.... its all about getting those ttiels in gw2 b-4 bw 1 shuts down in 4 years or so.. (maybe)

But see - isn't this exactly what a bot does? I mean, with this approach you can go to sleep while the macro-bot is keeping your char drunk! Thus, this approach violates the EULA.

Having clicked every single drink myself to max this title - I can say unequivocally the above could make the title much, much easier to achieve. Yes, you still have to acquire all the booze - but there's still the little matter of being drunk for 10,000 minutes! You can't tell me a mouse-macro, which you can run while asleep - wouldn't greatly aid you in maxing this title (versus you clicking drinks every 3 minutes!)

But alas, I really don't see how ANet would catch folks using these mouse-macros (or if they'd really care; since it's not actually connected to their game).

However, it would be nice to get official ANet word on this. I mean, if they don't have a problem with mouse-macros, then other aspiring drunkards should know this (and save them all the trouble I and others went through)...

I asked a similar question before from support and here is the answer verbatim:

Make what you want of it. But my take on it is - if you do it and don't walk around screaming "I pwned ANET! I r0x0r!" or anything equally silly, you'd be ok. After all, there's precious little difference between using a VB/C# proggy to beep for you every 3 minutes and then manually clicking 3 ales or using the programmable keyboard/mouse to do the exact same thing. Just make sure you are actually AT the computer at the time. The moment you go AFK you are no longer in the "grey", you are now firmly in the "Bad bad, player! BAN" area. So play GW windowed, make the window smaller and move it so you see the screen, grab a book and I think you'd be ok. Mind you, this is just my take on it.

AutoHotKey script, on the other hand, is getting dangerously into the badlands. I know the script is rudimentary, but you no longer have an excuse of programmable hardware being too good for its own good. You now deliberately used a 3rd party application to gain an advantage in the game.

I think this pretty much answers all scenarios. If the computer is doing the work for you (i.e. bot or keyboard/mouse macro) - then (unfortunately) it's illegal .

The one problem I see with this approach (even if you're at the computer) is if ANet ever kept track of the interval in which the drinks were being clicked - they could say 'hey, this guy is clicking drinks at exactly 180 seconds!' There's no way a human player could click drinks at the exact same time over 5 hours! So must be a BOT! Ban his/her arse!'

Anyone did any deathlevelling in presearing? If there ever was an unattended gameplay, that is it. And it is actively encouraged by ANet by creating LDoA title. As for random values - true, the simplest thing to do. And for those who really want to get it working, PostMessage API can send data to GW window even when it is minimised, since GW isn't relying on DirectInput.

But at the end of the day - what's the point. All these random values, human emulation. One look at a person drinking continuously for several hours and you can be pretty much certain it is either a trained chimp pressing a button when the buzzer goes off, a person with FAR too much time on their hands (THIS is the unlikely scenario, not the previous one) or a program.

Using external software, be it AutoHotKey or something you wrote yourself is deliberately going against ANet's policies.

Now, programmable hardware, becoming increasinly common is simply a piece of standard equipment, which they will allow, doing what it was intended to do. Now, to make matters really hard to argue about the ideal situation would be to map the action in question (double click every 180 seconds) to a mouse button/keyboard key, without third party software, as in using just the hardware capabilities your mouse/keyboard was shipped with. Then you sit there, and hold the key. The game isn't playing without human interaction (hence key can't be latched/taped down), so you are doing your best to remain within EULA.

And it isn't that hard to keep a key pressed. Hell, rest your hand on the keyboard, while watching a movie/reading a book. As long as you are the one holding the key and not some automated process (be this a brick on the keyboard even) you are "kind of" doing your best to stick to the ANet regulations.

Just my point of view.

And, of course, other 'AFK Titles' are the Lucky/Unlucky titles - since you can play games-of-chance like 9 Rings during the Boardwalk events and theoretically be AFK the entire time while standing in a ring...

I made a mini-macro that just sold about 3000 worthless rare materials for me once (one at a time). imho as long as you aren't hurting the game you aren't going to to be hunted down. I would recommend against using anything downloaded because of the risk of losing your account to a keylogger. Just looking through all the outposts that still have real bots farming, I think anet has better targets to go after then someone who double clicks some ale every minute.
