Mmm, just tested the spot above Zen and I can't get it unfogged as complete as the original map.
And there still seems to be a tiny bit missing from the Shing Jea spot.
At the moment I wonder if the original maps have changed, like the Tyrian one, or that it's still possible to explore them like the ones in Livingston's posting.

I'm at 98.9% and I need Jade Quarry mapped. Correct me if i'm wrong but do you get the map if you watch the cutscene? I have waited for hours on end trying to get in without luck.

You don't get the map of the Jade Quarry by watching the cinematic, though you do reveal another part of the map by watching it. Unless you can get a group to explore with you, your chances of mapping the quarry are slim. Your best bet is to try finding any other places you might have missed, as you don't actually need Jade Quarry to reach 100%. The quarry adds only .5% according to the wiki anyway, so it wouldn't be enough to put you at 100%.

That's Aspenwood Luxon side. | CrowRbot is right, you don't need JQ anymore, but you need to have a lot of edges covered. The trick with JQ is knowing when you go in and having some company. I did JQ several times now and some company helps. The reason I say bring some company is because it allows one player to switch districts from time to time to see how many are on there. (S)he could inform the other side about the number of people on 'your' side. Only chat in local, people then know there are active players. Waiting for 30-45 mins are not unusual. On Euro districts, there is a 'problem'. There is not one euro district, but one for each language. However, those are all brought in one match when they activate the timer. This could lead to the situation that people enter 'JQ english 1' and leave because there is nobody there, but 'JQ german 1' has 7 on that side and 8 on the other. For best chances, I'd say go American 1 in the weekend. Make sure the US had some time to get awake (so talking afternoon or evening in Europe). Since the American districts don't have the problem I described above, you have better chance to see people there * hint to A-net: remove the language seperation on JQ euro districts *. Or team up here on guru or on other forums (pug thread) or arrange a guild/alliance event.

Hopefully, I have found this thread (the first one made by Livingstone) as I was at 95,4 % of Cantha. Thanks to the help of this great topic " Livingston's Guide to becoming a Grandmaster Canthan Cartographer!" I arrived this morning to become Grandmaster Cantha Cartographer by following all the advices, looked at all the maps and circles and above all by hugging all the walls
, it works perfectly ! Just wanted to post to say :thanks, thanks, thanks a lot Livingstone ! Couldn't have the title without this help.Hug the walls !!

Cantha, for lack of a better word is a B!tch.... i don't know how i would have done this without texmod...
it took me 4 days alone to find a party for jade quarry.... my guild in gvgs and pvps im only pver so i can't ask them for help as many of them have almost no pve characters... T_T... but luckily i've achieved cantha grandmaster carto thanks to Serenity Divinity's help

I'm in the process of mapping up shing jea island..and I can't get to the Monastary Overlook, according to wiki its .9% of the title, and non-faction chars can only go there during special events? Anyone know how to get there another way

How can you explorer #6? I might have done it already, but I'm not sure, my own map has a tiny bit more fog. I tried from inside Kaineng Center, Raisu Pavilion, Bejunkan Pier, Divine Path(explorable area after killing Shiro), Raisu Palace(town, mission, explorable) ...so I MIGHT have it already, but I'm not sure. Even with this awesome guide, it will still take players forever to get grandmaster cartographer. I'm not going for this title ever.

A very good way to reach the last 0.1% is just watching the cinematics from Fort Aspenwood(both sides) and Jade Quarry(both sides). I didn't even do the mission Jade Quarry and I still skipped a lot of other places. Map comparing rocks! It goes a lot faster than scraping everything. MyNameIsBrett
I have a question, there's a couple areas I'm having a really hard time with. I've tried some techniques that people suggested. I redid Viz to get the bottom and from Shenzun. And that's all I got from it. As well, the smaller piece near Sunji was partially uncovered but there's still some left. Anyone got any ideas?

I had that problem as well, the little area next to Senji's Corner and Naphui Quarter(the square on your map), I couldn't explorer it in any way.

Two spots in Kaineng are on the map in #3 and explained in #4, spots 15 and 20. The spots at Senji's and in Luxon area are not in the list of frequently missed spots, skip them and get the 0.001% you get there somewhere else I guess. Edbert
Anyone know how to get here (the bright green area):
 It looks like the northeast portion of Minister Cho's, but there's no way through. I've tried from Minister Cho's several times but the gates are closed that let me in there, I did it in HM just for grins and still can't get there. Tried it from the monastery and Java blufss. What gives? I feel like such a n00b being stuck on the freaking island of all things, but I'm at 99.3 without it.

I have been using the cartographer made easy texmod, and I am 99.9% done... Now, I can see various spots that are uncovered, but I have tried to uncover these from all angles for an extensive amount of time. Any tricks on how to get some of those hard to get places?

With a non-canthan character it is much tougher. I used the exploit in Eredon Terrace and got 0.5%, that in conjunction with the portion on newbie island I had missed got me over 100%. If you have 99.8 without Eredon do that and you're all set, the one where you get a preist to run through the portal then you use a Sin skill to teleport through and stay "explorable".
Doing the map checks is really easy. I'd offer to do one for you but I'd get flooded with requests. Read the instructions, I found the paint-dot-net tool to be the simplest. I should add that since I got GMC in Cantha I've finished the legendary cartographer title as well :-) lupul6666

if i'm not mistaken those areas are not reachable.... but i could be wrong... i don't remember mapping them for my grandmaster.... but it would be a lot easier to tell if you had texmod loaded

The help is already there. Take the Kaineng map in post number 3 of this thread (the first one, not the updated). Look at the map and you notice your spots are marked with 19 and 20. Look in post number 4 of this thread and you will find the description where to explore. This is a sticky posting for a reason

I compared my "missed spots" with the commonly missed spots maps and guide (on the first page of this thread). Some of those places were the same so I followed the guide where to go, only in few cases I didn't manage to unfog those areas, but I didn't need all the map (maybe because I used the Eredon Terrace "glitch", mapped behing Shing Jea during boardwalk games and partially mapped Jade Quarry) Finally with some aid from this thread my character just got GMC Cantha also getting her Legendary Cartographer.

I'm currently stuck at 97.5%
All i can see that i'm missing is JQ wich is deserted nowdays. Will join a part this weekend so we'll see. How mutch does it even give? 00.5%? And do i need it? Some people claim that you don't need it for the 100% I don't wanna use any textmod! But some help would be needed. Any tips on what i could have missed? I have checked some common places in the Guide here but i got all of them i think. Any help is appreciated!

JQ would give about 0.5%, so you would still be 2% short.
You only need it if you don't have the boardwalk area but it's an easy exploration if you can enter. Finding it elsewere would be a lot of scraping. There are no map compares anymore but if you take a look at the first postings you will see a couple of maps with frequently missed spots marked and explained in the posting below that one. Those screens are amongst the best around and comparing them to your own would give you 100% Think it's posting #2 and #3 or #3 and #4. One notorious spot is Eradon Terrace, check the wiki page if you don't have that one. It nets about 0.4/0.5 for most players. Good luck exploring

I'll do the Shadowstep glitch later on. That is one place i know i have left to explore. Also i read the first page of the guide again and i notice ihave used if before, the common missed places that is. It must be some fairly "big" place i have missed since i miss arround 02.5% atm. Ok got my Tyrian explorer title now & thought i'd finish this one off to
Points of interest are these really, i've 99.4% & having some real trouble with the remainder. Small piece in the monastry overlook, quite a common one so ive heard, think it can be obtained via certain events?! Jade Quarry, due to there never being anyone around This 1 is just above this imperial sanctum mission, tryed running around the bridges round this area but cant seem to get it, theres also a small piece near dragon's throat, again tryed to get that via challenge but couldnt lol These 2 small area's in the sunjiang distrist, cant seem to find my way to them at all. Problem ive found alot of the time is your very limited to where you can go in factions, those arena's for example & the monastry overlook, unless theres an event going on or people in those arena's you've a very limited chance. Any advice or help greatly appreciated  Nick

well let's see if I can help you out on some of those spots.....
the spot at sunjiang there is a shrine in the corner, and if you hug the walls in that area your small spot will turn to a vertical line like mine. For Dragons Throat area do Vizunah Square and after the second wave area hug the wall (you should know when you get there). For the spot near shiro I know you can get some of that from being banished. Hug the wall very closely and get into every crack you can. It took my a while before I finished off that area. I am at 99.8% and have no clue where else to go. I've already gotten the blackspot on Eredon. All I would need now is the Jade Quarry, but nobody is ever there.
