What was the dumbest thing you did as a noob?
Mister O
Back when attribute refund points still existed, without realising how it works, I deleted my characters because I thought I made a crappy build.
Owik Gall
Delete and restarted my character because I thought when I got to the first post searing Ascolon mission out post I couldn't get out unless I passed the mission, and I was in a low level with active quests. Furthermore, I didn't think about storing my stuff in storage, so they in turn were deleted.
sean520
i used mending and healing breeze on my warrior..lol
TuckerTrueshot
i thought that white, blue, purple, gold, green weapons were just the color font of the weapon descriptions, so i sold a gold bow i was given cause i didnt like the color font.
:]
:]
Snoes
I Kept on remaking characters every time i came out of pre searing. It was creepy in Post Searing..
Diablo???
Selling my dyes to the merchant for 1g.
Aera
My first character was an ele. Whenever I died and collected DP, I'd remove my armour with runes on it to get my health back. And I kept wondering why I died so fast...
rockin'
i bought purple axe q13 for 8k..... then i tried to put on charr salvage armor... sold white dye to merchant (i remember time when it was 30k) and other things that noobs do.... i bought vampiric sword so i had to take mending to stop degen etc...
SuicideLemming
I used to think that gold, green, blue, and purple were the color of the weapon. I also have money managing issues in mmo's as a noob. In guild wars, I kept trying to form new guilds. I made a W/N too, thinking I could spam minions while also using warrior skills, didnt work out too well because of low warrior energy.
Damian979
Very first day of playing GW, pre-ascalon: WTS blue, brown, yellow, black dye 250g ea

Me/N MM with 2 minions, death nova and possibly Crippling Anguish.. Could've been worse, ahd even some points in FC Oh and other thing..
NF was my first campaign ever, and I liked it pretty much. Actualy, so much I rushed through it in few weeks. However, I got stuck in GoP.. When suddenly this nice dervish guy comes and helps me. after we fail miserably, he asks me a question: "Do you have max armor?"
....
So yeah... then he kindly told me where to get max armor ( I thought it was Bone Palace as I had seen armor crafter there and thought you get max at very late of game).

My newb moment is probably selling a black dye to some douche for 150g because he made me believe they were worthless
*Facepalm*
Smarty
I dyed my necro's starter chest armour black in presearing to see what it would look like. Black dye's only worth 1g at the merchant, after all, so why not? I nearly cried when I found out how much they were really worth.

I think thats the only time i got mad enough to waste my time using plaync's stupid report feature on its web page. LOL, those were the days

I stuck with my presearing bar until halfway through prophecies when my brother came into the room and lol'ed at me...
And by presearing bar, I mean:
Conjure Phantasm
Fire Storm
Flare
Etc. etc.

Using up all my money & skill points on skills, buying them in the order the Skill Trainer was displaying them.
And yes, I was a wammo

Tearz1993
Deleting my Warrior two days before they announced minipets and extra character slots (this was like 2 weeks before my war would have been 1 year old).
Ambuu
Spamming Flare in presearing and then getting to post searing and realizing that flare sucks
Loot Junkie
First dumb thing I did was around 37 months ago when I sold my first black dye drop for 250gp, I wish I had checked the trader but then again I didn't know they existed. Next "dumbass" event was when I went to pay some dude 2000gp for an item for my warrior. I mistakenly put the number 2000 in the plat window, effectively telling the game to pay 2 milliongp. This wiped out the 16k I had accumulated so far in the game.
The Mad Man
1-I always put the disc in when I wanted to play
2-thought that selling my version of gold dye(which I later realized only worked on warrior armor) and farming charr hides were a good source of money

Scythe O F Glory
I made a Me/E cuz I wanted fasting... always wondered why I was runnin outta energy.
Also made a N/W with half Life Stealing, half sword skills. I never killed anyone in Ascalon Arena.
Also made a PvP ranger with an elite-less Marksmanship build and Troll Unguent.

Ok, not sure whether I've put this one here or not already - I don't think so.
Right when GW first came out and I was pre-searing I got several pieces of the same collector armour. I didn't know/realise that they were customised so I was offering to give them away.
I got called a noob and a scammer and I didn't understand why until one nice person whispered me and explained that armour was customised and could only be worn by you. So instead I started giving away the collectable drops.
Of course at that stage I didn't even know about post, yet. Wow, I sure do remember heading into post-searing.

Messy
I got to Ascalon with my first character, my ranger, and went to the armor guy. I had seen snow somewhere and he was offering an armor with fur. I assumed this armor would protect me against the snow and cold.... so I bought it.... just to sweat my ass off in the outskirts of Ascalon.

Not really noob mistakes, just bad luck
-Initially making an E/Mo, because a large energy pool is good for monking, right?
-Deleting my fully decked Ranger and Necro before character slots were released in favor of PvP slots, forfeiting early birthday presents.
-Protesting about the evils solo farming. I've since realized that, if you want nice things, you should be able to earn them.

The Defiled Knight
When I was in pre-searing Ascalon I got a black dye drop from an elemental......I put it on a water staff straight away because I didn't know they were worth anything.......the staff didn't even look that good with it.

– I thought SS meant “Soul Sucker” when applied to necros. Once I was asked if I were an MM or and SS. I wasn’t an MM so I said I was an SS (which I really thought I was). Actually, I was just a noob with a little bit of everything on my bar and points applied to all four necro attributes.
– I did Mayhem in the Market for the first time with my ranger, while wearing Ran Musu Gardens armor, a crap weapon and a noob build, wondering why it was such trouble even getting to the mission, let alone constantly failing it.
– Later in the game I thought that the place where you kill all the afflicted during the “Looking for Trouble” quest was an old abandoned guild hall. I thought I had to find and clean out more of those to get halls for the guilds that I had.
– I didn’t think you could change your secondary profession, so I deleted some characters that had just begun. But if they were level 8 or higher, I thought they were too high a level, so I just made another character of the same type in the same account, but chose a different secondary for them.
The really BIG, BIG mistakes….
– I annoyed the heck out of Anet, by constantly writing support to tell them my opinion on this or that (like which festival hats I liked or didn’t like) because with Morrowind or NWNs, you always stated your opinion on new clothes and other modifications that you add to the game. I never new about forums yet. I was a complete MMORPG noob.
– When Factions came out, I ended up buying 6 accounts because I wanted more than 4 character slots and three different guilds. This was prior to the update of being able to add more slots, and I had no idea about Prophesies adding extra slots and had no access to the original game anyway (at least not in English due to living abroad).
– Because I had just come from playing Morrowind, I made two accounts for just warriors and rangers (that was the fighter’s guild) and two accounts dedicated to the more sinister types (necro’s and assassins). This was a darker guild. Finally, I made two accounts dedicated to all of the mages (the Mage’s guild). Had to do some deleting and revising later.

I was all into making money, didn't work out in Pre tho...
Then I saw that a Girl's Cape was 0g, and bought some stacks of them to see if anyone would buy them for 1g xD...
Ofcourse no-one did, I still kept the stacks of Girl's capes and deleted them about 1 week before they got 250g at the Merchant in Pre xD...
Also, I deleted my first character in Post-Ascalon, I really thought I wen't to the bad side and destroyed Ascalon -.-

I can't tell if I posted this before, as it must have been a while ago. I traded a Mini Kuunavang for a Charr Shaman... Then that for a Hydra. I ended up giving it away. Good times.
At least I didn't delete the new character holding the Kuunavang like my friend did. Ouch.

This is a pretty funny thread...
My most noob moments were when I tried to heal partners by clicking on the names beneath their characters, instead of the red square in the party box. I fought a lot in pre-sear trying to do this.
Yes, try to heal someone by chasing them with your mouse when they are in the middle of fighting 6 char. I often was casting heal on myself instead of my fighting partners.

one of my friends told me a pretty funny thing he used to do...
he was trying to cap elite skills after killing people in RA.
and me, well... after i got out of pre searing, i still didn't know about instant mapping and i HATED having to go to another town since the run from piken to ascalon was very painful with starter armor and no knowledge about the skills system. of course i had to memorize the paths, since i didnt know how to open maps either.
yes, i was fighting from town to town instead of instant mapping. when i got really fed up i went to rage to my brother how this game sucks and how i quit, then he showed me the trick =.=
the thing is thet when i started playing, my brother has been playing for 3 months then (i started in october and my brother bough the game little after i THINK) so the hints and all that were turned off lol
