No wonder it's quiet: the banhammer has fallen.

Time to stake out Int Dist in Bergen Hot Springs?
Last night stood there and watched armies of Monks running in and out. Saw a particular name, that came a went with regularity in the hour I was there.

They're in big numbers in Rilohn Refuge ID1 and Bergen Hot Springs ID1 too. I reported about 100 a few days ago, next day Rilohn is empty. Now they're back just as much as before.

Noticed myself...probably farming beginner quests

I saw about 15 Ele's in Shing Jea Island earlier this week, all had names like 'Ghjfj Pkfhy'.
Friday night saw one, similar name, selling gold in Ascalon. Aslo saw one selling gold in RA.
Reported the gold sellers.

Well, that pretty much proves they're using trial accounts.

Sorry to use my res sig on this thread, but I'm starting to wonder once again why they are doing this. I stumbled upon this update from late 2006 and it really makes me wonder how trial accounts farm money for others.

I think demo account is only use for advertising the gold seller's website and not for trading.
All transactions must have been done over the advertised website, ie: pay them and they will tell you where and when to get the "drop". They probably use many other accounts to do transfers, multiple accounts across many characters to transfer to avoid suspicious big amount of gold transfers.

Maybe they let them bot while under the trial period, and only add an accesskey when they've got a storage full of money? If they get banned it didn't cost them anything, and if they manage to get a storage full, they cash in?
Some will slip through the nets, and those that make it are still worth $100. They can have 50 accounts banned along the way, it's still profit if one makes it.

Just wanted to throw my 5 cents in about /report option.
I can easy report over 500 different character names within 1 hour standing in Aborstone or other popular bot places.
Maybe we should flood Anet with reports so the responsible GM's wake up.
One little thing that I wonder about is, how the heck is it possible to have characters for botting with names like Zx Aa, Zx Bb, Zx Cc,Zx Dd,Zx Ee,Zx Ff and on? All same primary/secondary class and all level 20.
I seen them come in such order.
Shakkara has a valid point concerning the use of trial accounts for botting.
Thats the way it works in WoW as example, 4 days to power level a character up and 10 days to bot in.
Level 20 can be done real fast in GW as well, so gives plenty of time for bot farming an area within the 12 hours a trial last.

Trial accounts are usually only for advertising websites. Aslong as we keep /reporting, a good number of them shall die. they will hav to reby the game...more money for Anet. lol
there will always be bots no matter
