I'm sure when it comes out, in two years or so, you'll be all ''Oh I want it, that was two years ago that I said I didn't, but it's actually good'' I mean, times change, especially in two years. You'll forget any reasons why you ''didn't'' want it.
I'll buy it if I have the time to play computer games then, but I doubt that I will, so we'll see.

If I'm playing WoW by then no, I probably won't.
If I'm still playing GW because my parents don't want to pay for WoW, then yes.

Meh. Depends on what else is out and how great the competition is. I'll most likely find myself in Warhammer/Aion/something else though.
Jake_Steel
I'm buying two copies of the Pre-Release Collector's edition for me and my mate!
Lord Sojar
I am still getting it. ANET is still awesome in my book, despite their sometimes retarded ways. Still a good game.

Those of us that dont like the game anymore know how much they messed up GW, I for one arent going to bother going through it all over again.

Okay, why wouldn't I? Because Anet banned people I don't know for for cheating? Riiiight.
Yes, still buying. If only it were so easy to ban people for righteous bandwagoning...

I'll probably get it. Loved the PvP a lot even with the many mess-ups ANet's made.
TC, what are the reason everyone already knows about that makes this game bad?

as critical of them as I am, I'll be buying. I've invested myself so heavily in the game that whatever HoM rewards there are, I'll be bankrolling them in.
As retarded as many of their decisions are, still, the game design, lore, and visual presentation is top-notch.
I just really hope they learn not to keep putting these features in that are so divisive, and split pve and pvp.

I'm still on the fence. If it came out tomorrow I'd probably be like "HELL no" but we have a couple of years until release. So I'll just see what GW2's like and whether or not it's something I want.
Vinraith
I've greatly enjoyed GW, I have no serious problems with the way the game's been handled, and if GW2 were a game in the vein of GW1 I would buy it. If, however, it abandons instancing, abandons GW's unique and rich skill system, abandon's GW's low level cap, and abandon's GW's rich and enjoyable AI party dynamic (and the prepress indicates that it's abandoning all of those) then no. I can't really see buying a game labeled "Guild Wars" that retains none of the things that made Guild Wars great.
I pwnd U
It will depend on how it looks when its more complete. Hopefully ANet will let us GW1 players get a look at the Beta. if it looks like it will be good I will probably get it. IF not I won't waste my money on it.
Esan
Look, bhavv, if you want to quit the game, quit. Don't dance around in your undies with a feather hanging out of your arse.
Dr Strangelove
How should I know? There's absolutely no information on it. I'm impressed with Arenanet and their management of this game, so I'm certainly likely to, but I'd be a poor retard if I just threw my money at everyone who had made a game I like in the past.

What's the point of this thread again? Oh right. It's a flimsy excuse for the rage quitters to whine...

What are exactly the reasons to decide if u're buying or not gw2 18+ months in advance on the release date?
If it's half as good as the original guild wars is everything u post now will just vanish and u'll run to the store grabbing your copy.
cmon don't be silly. buy a game if it's good and don't buy it if it's bad. u cannot decide 18 months in advance knowing nothing about the actual game.
this discussion is seriously ftw

Possible reasons why I WON'T buy GW2 when it comes out:
1. I may be busy running my own business IRL
2. I may have discovered girls (irl) by then.
3. I may find a good FPS that takes my attention
4. I may not be able to afford it.
5. I may be homeless.
5. I may be dead.

Now?
As as opposed to when?
Am I supposed to be upset about something??
Let me guess some bmp crying crap or oh the polar bear fiasco or omg more nerfs.
No, not one thing has happened lately that makes me think 'oh no anet sucks, they get no more of my monies'.
I couldnt care less how they want to operate their business, as long as they produce a quality game with fairly decent PVP. Imo GW is still a great game and i keep coming back to it.

/signed I am not spending a single cent on GW2.

Why would I not purchase it? I purchase games based on how good they are and little else. There are other companies I really despise but if they make a good enough game I'm there.
Now, if what you want to know is how much I will do something because Anet askes me too (such as spend extra in their online store)? In that case you will get a *really* different answer. However, that pretty much puts them in the same league as every other game company on the planet. So again - why ragequit because they moved from a trusted company to just like everyone else?
Lets face it, I play GW because it is a good game not because they have been an extremely upfront company. The latter just influences the ways (and to a lesser extent how much) I was willing to pay.

Nope, nothing new other then the normal bitching.

As many have said, it's at least 18 months down the road; I have no idea where I'll be by then (probably studying aerospace engineering, and I'll be waaaay to busy for video games.)
Considering things as they are now though, I will more than likely get GW2. I am impressed with Arenanet, GW itself, the lore, the gameplay, graphics, storylines... pretty much everything associated with the game. In fact, I'm sort of looking forward to a persistant world, and many of the other features that have been mentioned.
The only thing I'm not terribly impressed with is the fact that titles seem to be taking over every facet of the game. If that trend contines, I might consider not purchasing GW2.
Plus, I want a highly successful MMO, sans monthly fees, out there so I can rub it in the face of Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment and Perpetual Entertainment so they might follow suit with their upcoming titles....

I'll be pre-ordering it as soon as I can.

I'll get it, but hopefully casual players are still welcome. If it turns out to be a WoW clone I'll be pissed.
Zahr Dalsk
I'll buy if the 40K mmo doesnt look good. I'll buy even then just in case. If the 40K mmo is good I'll stick with that, otherwise I'll jump right back to Guild Wars 2.
Faer
I honestly think I'll be too busy playing Mythos to care by then.

Imo who the hell wants to start completely over on your characters you've worked to get items and stuff you really like over a span of 2yrs.
Maybe i'd think of getting it if they tell you what the HoM actually does.... much less bring non craptastic destroyer weapons over to gw2.....

It's nearly akin to not buying Oblivion because you can't transfer over your progress from Morrowind.
