How many guilds have you been in?
ValaOfTheFens
Two. The first had the rather ridiculous of Deadly Warriors Of Hell. Things were great until the GL caused alot of dramu by telling everyone he was dying of cancer(he didn't btw). 2/3 of the good people quit and it was never the same after that. Last July I quit and formed the guild I'm in now. I was solo for a while but then I invited a friend to join. We have a grand total of 9 members and only 5 are active but our alliance is good and so its all good.

Uhhh, lets see...
I was in about 5 before factions came out (while I was still a noob), then I joined a great one that I stayed in for over a year, before leaving due to conflicts of interest. Then tried to find a PVP guild for a while, which turned into about 5-10 more that had a bad habit of disintegrating 2 weeks after I joined. So I stayed out of the guilds for a while, just to keep the public safe. Then I joined one more pvp guild with a friend, which quickly disintegrated, before joining Myth, where I am now. It has been a month, and the guild is still together!
So that is like what? 20 total?

I was invited & accepted the first night I played.
Have never talked to anyone from the guild.
I can't get wiki on this computer (@work), I'm trying to find threads here that tell me what the guilds are for and how I can benefit from being in one.

Six guilds total.
First guild was in Beta. Mostly PvP guild, but they switched servers for release so I had to find a new one. Or something like that. So long ago I can't remember everything, geesh. All I remember was we held HoH a lot back then, but it was Beta, and we were invited to Alpha testing.
I didn't find a second guild until after Factions was released. I kind of liked the single life. Got a random invite in HzH one day and lucked out. Great guild and met my closest GW friend from there. Ironically left that one cause it started to focus purely on PvP - I had chosen to go purely PvE at that point.
Joined two others but they didn't work out. They didn't do enough high-end stuff. Sadly I can't even remember anything about them.
Joined a fifth that I was in for a while, but it was a bit too... high-end. Too much farming and too many elitists for my liking.
And my sixth is the one I am in currently. I couldn't imagine being in any other guild. It's a guild created by my closest friends in GW so it's perfect. Besides that I'm in there and cause a lot of trouble, but don't tell them that

I've only ever been in one guild. Just me and a few close friends who enjoy playing PvE together.

I cant remember. But when i first bought Proph when it was released i never was in a guild. I played for a couple of months totally solo till i reached my max lvl and armor that i wanted then quit. I came back to GW right before NF released i believe. Went solo for about a month or two.
Then i decided i would try guilds. I hopped on a couple of extremely small and unactive guilds. Left them all within a day or so. After the completion of Proph, Faction, NF, i got bored and wanted to join a active and bigger guild. I gathered information and decided what type of guild would be interesting. So i joined faction farming guilds. The first one was too small and not organized. The second one had a female guild leader and my first impression was that she is a b1c4h, the officers were really unfriendly to new members as well. The third one was great for a while. The guild leader was awesome, extremely active. The officers were all young but friendly at the time. I was in that guild for several months, even worked my way up to an officer.
After months of faction farming and then the reworked farming system to Hero fff, the guild fell flat - as well as the alliance. FFF became tiresome and GWEN was about to be released. So the whole alliance went into a different direction. This lead to a mass of people not being experienced in PvE. Everyone was not getting along. Most the officers turned into the usually ' I am leetsauce, dont get in my way, this is how things are gonna go'. The guild leader started to dissappear for days. Playing with the guild members and officers in PvE was rather a chore and a test of how much you can stand their arrogance.
I demoted myself back to member. Slowly exited the guild. A previous friend through all this made a guild so we could get away from all the bull crap and have fun. And thats where i am at. Been in my friends guild for about 5 months i think? Maybe less?

The Riven
Four in total.
Im a stubborn git, always have been always will be, so i refused to join a guild or get help in any way until i had finished prophs.
The first guild i joined was an AB intensive affair, part of a very large alliance (think cavalon) and while i got on with a few members the rules in guild were totaly insane. Basicly it was a case of do as we say, think as we say, play as we say, any talk about another game was discouraged to the point that they "could" kick you for it, any profanity also resulted in a kick, opinions differing to Guild Leader could also result in a kick.
I left them due to the fact that im a 30+ male who speaks his mind quiet forcefully and at times with colourfull language.
The last 3 have all been offshoots of the second guild i joined, a few close core members who are nearly as intolerant as myself plus the odd few who guild hop.
The reason that it has been 3 guilds is that all members in the guild have a say in any major choices the guild makes, all the core members have been with us for the best part of 2 years, sometimes that will include a name change, dont like the guild tag? meh lets make another, a few factions growing within the guild? branch out and let the factions grow seperately and form an alliance or join ours.
Would i ever change guild now? No, as much as i despise some people, i feel a sense of loyalty to them, i guess im here till either GW2 or i stop playing.

Three. One was a new guild I met in presearing, and I was with them for about 3 weeks - I seared, they didn't. My next was one I kept randomly meeting in the Jungle and was eventually invited. After 6 months in that guild, I left to create my own, which is approaching its 2nd birthday.

Two for me, one on each account.
1st account is a guild organized by people from a PC news/enthusiasts web site forum that I was active in.
2nd account is my own guild, of which I'm the only member.

thought the title read how many GIRLS not guilds ....
weird
weird
Coloneh
easily over 20. most guilds are incredibly terrible, and the good ones that will actually recruit people end up splitting up. guilds are a major disappointment to me.
Pan Head
1. We started it within the first month of the game. Guess we will be getting close to our 3 bday before long. I started out as the noob member worked my way up to officer and now i am the Leader of the guild. Small gp but we have allot of fun.

Ive been in 4
1st was with just a few guys that convinced me to get teh game on day 1 and i did and it was great, fell apart once the leader quite and didnt tell people.
2. Celestial Gaurd, my real guildmates. Awesome guild that led me to all the other guilds i would join
3. Knights of Austuria, made of mostly CG guys, good batch but started to fall apart about 1/2 through 07
4. Defenders of teh eye, My current guild, smart leader and officers and all members are really capable. Most of the remaining CG and KoA have folded into Eye.
Ive never really like leaving guilds, stupid sense of loyalty i guess but i have always had really helpful guys all teh way through from when i was a noobcakes to when i nearly quit (and might again lol)

About 6
Left them because of inactivity, officers spent all their time together, really bad language and the ever-prevalent drama.
I belong to [Heal] now and they are a great bunch of people I have learned so much since I have been there. A very active guild no matter what time you get on.

Honestly its just a fast typing mistake that i make all the time and i should try and stop it i suppose, as my grammar is terrible you are right.
(PI)
..I've already got the crown and do wear it all the time, thank you.
I apologise if it is just a genuine typing error but I hate (with a passion) those that write it intentionally or use 'pwn' or 'suxxorz'.

[GoL]GvG guild, left due to officers and leader inactive.
[Weak]HA and DoA farm guild, left because friends want to make a chinese tag guild for fun.
[伞回伞]my own guild, pretty much every one in [Weak] is here, still HA and PvE

Four. Two for long periods of time, two for brief periods (PvP). PvP = Guild of the Week if your guild lies in the range between the highest and lowest levels of play
The Little Viking
I personally have been in 1 guild for over the past 2 years and am still an active member.

4 if I remember correctly. The first guild had no communication at all between the Guildies and everyone left. The second one was awesome, I was in that guild for about half a year, until a lot of the people became inactive due to real life commitments. I joined a guild that was trying to be part of the [SNOW] alliance and was recruiting as much as possible, but everyone left that guild! Now I'm an Officer in United Jedi (I became an Officer a few weeks after that was posted) and I'm probably going to be staying in this guild until GW2.

2 ^^ over the course of 3 years - First guild had issues so a group of us left and formed our own.
crazybanshee
I've been in 2. The first one I joined I asked questions that nobody answered (I was a noob, and the guy said they were noob friendly) so I left, and the one I'm in now, which I've been in forever it seems
Avarre
About six, not counting short hops/membering for GvG.
Earth
Too much. I used to guildhop alot in the early days, been in my current one for a pretty long time now though, not counting short trips (5 days max) to other guilds <_<
genofreek
Just one and 12 characters needed. >_>
