Age= irrelevant ( and this includes extremes <13, >40)
Maturity= very important

Add to that some degree of civilized behavior in game and there ya have it.. the ideal player regardless of age.

Since we're not separated by continent anymore, I don't see why we couldn't have a 13-17 setup and an 18+ one. Chat filters would be more sensitive in the former, of course.

Eh, it's a lot of work for the coders, but I still think it would be a good idea. I don't think young'uns should be off GW, but I think they should have their own rules.

Can we also have solo districts? Or a singleplayer version of the game? Or, best of all, the code to set up private servers?

WTB Maturity in the immature playerbase of GW.

As said, age has nothing to do with maturity - it's the person behind the pixel!

Well I'm not offended. Just amused.

First to how old you should be to play. I would say 13 should be the minimun since I believe it's on the box, Rated T for teen. If you are younger playing go ahead. It doesn't really matter. Nothing personal but I won't play with you. Or atleast let you on my vent server. I'm an adult and on an adult vent server. Where adult themes are discussed. It would be creepy to have some 15,13,8 or 5 year old around with some of the things we discuss on vent. My Guild/Alliance is all 18+. It's a must. Don't want a kid's mom coming on vent blasting us for some things that are said.
But to your age limit or cap comment. While I would agree that one shouldn't neglect family or work for a game . There are adults with families that can balance play time with the game and continue to fufill their responsibilities.
But I would like to remind you that the reason game companies are clamering to release games today is because the money pie is so big. And why is that pie so big. Becuase the Gamer generation are adults now. We started playing games when they were first introduced. Now we are all grown up with adult jobs and adult paychecks. Which of course we spend on games. So before you jump to cap the age limit of gamers remember what you may be sacrificing.

Age is just a number that has nothing to do with maturity wich is mental.

I will agree that there are polite 12 year olds out there. But you must be joking or 12 years old yourself if you believe a 12 is as mature or even can be more mature than a 22 or 32 year old. Come on. Not only are there real physical differences between those age groups that cannot be denied. There are countless real life exeperiences that seperate a 12 year old's soul from a22 year old. Age may be a number. But there is specific general developments that go along with one's age. And for the most this can be said for the greatest majority of humans. While there are always isolated cases of differences in normal growth patterns, one has to conclude that most 12 year olds are just in fact that, a 12 year old. With 12 meantal capacity, 12 years of life experiences, and 12 year old attitude.

In a perfect world, all children who played games would have parents who supervised their activities. Too bad that doesn't exist in the real world for the most part.

I personally would much rather play the game with someone over 18 simply because their world experience is far superior to even the most intelligent and mature 8 year old.

Even the genius 8 year old would have a hard time holding discussions with me and I'm not a genius. The reason for that quite simply is experience.

I would love for every game to come with some sort of personality detector so that anyone who wanted to type "u" would be shocked with a tazer...
