With the nerf, it becomes more skillful, and also goes back into line with the real mechanics of spell cancelling - you pay the cost of the spell when you cast it, not when you finish it.
Agree. The time and energy goes into the casting, not the success. They fixed GoLE, not nerfed it.

Yeah, everyone online rpg I played was similar.

Only in those games, when skills got nerfed, you struggled or you re-rolled (which can take weeks/months to catch up).

At least in GW there are many skills to replace a nerfed skill. In EQ2, when a skill got nerfed, so did your complete ability to do what that skill did. There were no similar skills to use instead.
Coercers control abilities are an example. When those were nerfed there were no alternatives to even come close to doing what they once could do. The role of a character that took weeks/months to make was totally screwed.

My post suggested i am a whiner, when i believe i am not. There is no statement saying i dislike the nerfs and buffs. Get your facts straight, sheesh

Yes, fixed is the right word, I'd classify the old GoLE as being 'bugged' too.

Aye, SoE/Verdant did some really cruel things.

But even worse than the heavy handed EQ re-balancings was the total redesign of Star Wars Galaxies. Creature Handlers got not only extinct, the whole gameplay changed so dramatically that it was virtually a new game.

Despite all the crying, the downtrend of the game does not seem to have influenced at all by the extremely unpopular patch. I would have expected a larger and more dramatic drop of subscriptions.

The crying was mainly directed at the fact that they "rebalanced" the game so stupid and lazy people could play it. SWG was an unforgiving bitch before the big patches and a lot of people whined that it was just too hard (and don't get me started on the whining over the undocumented Jedi path). Since most people don't want to play a game that actively punishes you for not devoting yourself to it (ref: Eve Online), the whiners were the minority of "original" players and the remaining playerbase was mostly WoW refugees who could now figure out how to play the game.

one nerf to screw them. one nerf to find them. one nerf to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.
