Stats on RMT Actions

GJ for Anet and TY to Gaile for info.
How does the removal of 190.2M gold from the game affect the economy? Will it make the cost of items cheaper? or 190.2M gold is insignificant compared to the total gold in circulation?
Is 771 players are the only buyers of gold or they are the only players who were caught having unexplained gold in their accounts? How about those who bought gold and expend it in game? Are they included in the list?

Good job so far, but if it's a 'free stats day', then because I'm interested in the current state of the in-game economy two graphs that I'd love to see would be those that show the frequency of all player-to-player and player-to-NPC transactions involving gold, as functions of the total amount of gold transferred, for some representative period of time like a week. Log scales both ways, please
It's hard to discuss economy when you don't have any statistical indicators to rely on.

Now of only upi will do something about the people botting hff out of Lutgardis in Korea, Russian, Polish and other districts. I think with the number in specific guilds I saw and the amount of faction they were getting, that there was something over 1 Mil gold a day entering the system (and Im sure thats not the whole picture either)
Back on topic, good job on the RMT and stopping the spamming . Thanks for the update Gaile.

Boss: Ok what's up with the business guys?
Chairman: They removed 90% of our botters in GW!
Technical boss: Yep, and they banned our IP addresses.
Chairman: And they're even bragging about their actions on fansites!
Boss: What? You mean we can't parasite their game anymore?
Technical boss: Oh, we'll find a way, we'll always be smarter (that's what fans say).
Finance boss: Yes but we need money, fast and it needs to flow guys.
Boss: We need to take action and take back the business that belongs to us! (violently hit the table and crunches the Gaile Gray doll)
Jeff Strain (flying through the window of the 27th floor office): Ah ah! We pwned you RMTers, you shall now know the power of the bot-killer, in the name of the customer protection!

Great Job
Though it's a shame you guys have to remove demo distribution. Should maybe add a spam filter to the Demo Account chat, being that online is likely the best place to market a demo. . . Think that's how I found you guys, and how I usually sell friends who may be interested in GW.
Keep up the great work--on everything.

Nice, good to see some positive devellopments, but doesnt affect deleting 190 million gold the guildwars economy?

Commissar Gaile, I fully support this five year plan. Long live our enlightened absolute ruler Anet
DreamWind
I need to play devil's advocate here (because that's what I do).
I really question why these stats have been released, and never any other stats in the history of Guild Wars to my knowledge (besides copies sold). To me, the releasing of these stats seems like some sort of scare tactic or a "hey what we do works!" type of release.
I don't see anything useful coming out of these stats, and if you are going to release game stats, there are a LOT better things I'd like to know about.

Nice stats. I agree that we are weak on stats for the game though. Is it possible to have some sats released that people might be interested in? Ones I'm curious about, especially after seeing the stats like those are:
- Total # of accounts (we know 5 million copies sold, but how many are people who own 1 game only, and how many with multiple games linked?)
- Total # of bots banned (not including bans for EULA abuse, just the bots)
- Activity levels (max, min, and average players in a 24 hour period maybe)
- Total number of guilds (not including disbanded ones, just ones active)
- Total number of alliances (comparison between Kurzick and Luxon)
- Total number of PvP characters and PvE characters (would fluxuate due to deletion, but would be neat to see)
I'm glad we get stats, I just wish we got more.

wow
190 Million in gold!
So if you divide this by 100K lots, that's 1,902 lots... multiplied by 22 bucks per lot, then that's roughly 42 thousand dollars in real money that people spent to get that 190M.
One of the things I'm thinking is either it's really hard to make money selling gold, or that 190M is just a drop in the bucket. And when I see it as 190M I think to myself yeah, that would screw up the economy.

It's all well and nice, but, after 3 years I think it's a tad bit too late now. The economy is already ruined, prices have slumped to an all time low. Nobody is really buying anything anymore (I know I'm not) cause the game is old and many people already have what they want or need (you see them say this in almost every economy thread or how much ingame money do you make etc. etc.)
With hard mode one can play the newbie areas and get great drops of superior vigors, all the 15^50 inscriptions you want all the +20% ones you want and play them solo or with 2 or 3 heroes even. Perfect weapons galore. It's just not a "believeable" world anymore it's more of just a romper room online mmo anymore.
It was so much better in the beginning days when things really had value and people weren't exploiting the game all over the place (running through the content just to get some elite skills and max armor then coming back to newbieland and stomping through 3/4ths of the entire game without worry). When people didn't complain about your builds or laughed at others because they weren't like them or used MENDING. lol
The best days are already gone so even booting the gold sellers and botters around isn't doing anything, but, making those that love watching other people get into trouble happier and give them something to ewwww and ahhhhh about. And brown nose to Anet staff of course.

GG Anet. No more spamming. Prices will hopefully drop some. I just hope ya'll intend on changing, or even expunging, Loot-Scaling from the game so that players can enjoy the fruits of their farming labors. It's a shame that all the damage the botters, cheaters, dupers, exploiters, etc.'s dealt cannot be reverted. Nonetheless, it's progress. =]

Gaile,
"Removed 190,200,000 purchased gold from 771 players"
Were theses 771 accounts banned?
I would hope so. I recall, a couple months ago, 117 players were banned for breaking the EULA.
Is gold buying not against the EULA?

Kudos for you anet.
Hopefully you will remove loot scaling now that the introduction of money (190,000,000) to the game would not be that much, and people will be able to earn their money with honest farming.
That's a lot of money confiscated !!! that would have gone into the GW economy.
