Hi everyone,

Thank you all for the welcome and the good luck wishes.

I apologize for not being able to post when the thread was fresher, and that I don't have the time to respond to each and every one of you, but my first day was super busy. Lots of meetings and new information to take in!

I realize that many of you have a certain degree of skepticism about me, which I understand and respect. You're waiting to see how I do, probably waiting for my first mistake as well. :P

I hope I can be a good Community Manager for you all and I'm looking forward to working with the rest of the CM team to help relay your feedback and concerns, and advocate for your wants and needs to the developers.

Whilst I may be able to exert some influence from time to time, that doesn't necessarily mean that decisions are ultimately taken by myself or other members of the community team. I will try and be as open about the process with you as I'm able, and try to address your concerns and criticisms about the game (and I suppose about my performance as a CM!) to the best of my ability.

To answer some questions and address some points I saw reading through this thread:

-- I have no nicknames. Please do not call me 'Reggie' or 'Reg' or 'Gina'. Please do call me 'Regina', or if you want to be super formal Ms. Buenaobra. :P

-- 'Obra' means any type of creative work, such as a work of art, a play, or literature. It is a noun, not a verb.

-- I don't collect minipets or weapons.

-- I will not have a sidekick like the Frog.

-- SS may be my favourite skill, but that doesn't necessarily mean that I have any decisive say in its nerfing or buffing.

-- I may like Mesmers a lot, but that doesn't necessarily mean that my favor for that Profession will suddenly 'fix' it to the satisfaction of all Mesmers around the world.

-- I like Kurzicks because they're arty and live in trees.

-- As of today, I do not currently have a character in the game with my real name or any variation of my real name. My in-game name would be displayed in my profile information or on my wiki page. At this point I do not yet have a work account, but I will soon.

If that was directed at me, that was what I was going for. Just thought it a mildly ironic name, since "fiction" is the closest one-word translation for "obra" I could think of, because I've only ever seen the word used in context of a written work of some kind. Of course, I'll defer to the person with the spanish-speaking heritage.

Seems you're going to be a little more real with us than Gaile was...I had a huge bit of doubt towards her dedication to the game...everything she said she liked about the game, she was given by gullible fans. You seem to be up front about not being all into GW but still a loyal player, so I think this will put out a bit more of a professional demeanor than Gaile's childish banter and overdone buddy-buddy attitude she had with everyone.

Hmm...I like her. Seems like she'll be a good CM. Besides she's kurzick and her fav skill is SS. I'm gonna get along just fine with her I thnk

Now that the idiocy is out of the way. Congratulations on your accession to the throne of Community Relations Manager, as vacated by your predecessor Gaile Gray. May you impart knowledge from the heavens above.

Here's a very useful skill for you on GWG, courtesy of me:

GWG Sense of Words. Enchantment spell.
For 1..10 hours, you are imune to flaming, incensitive to trolling, and your words are magically highlighted, causing people to love or hate you. A small white aura surrounds you and your name appears in red. This spell causes exhaustion and is disabled for 6 hours.

You may also need a staff of Thread Guidance +30 Clarity of Reading/+20% Morale boost and a +10 Armor against bad faith insignia! But hopefully you'll very quickly get these rare drops we sometimes get on GWG, the little golds and greens of posts.
