How do YOU play GW?
Divisor
And by that I mean, how are your controls set? Do you use 1-8 to activate your skills or do you click them? Do you move with the mouse or WASD? Or, have you set your controls to something else entirely?
I use WASD to move, and 1234QERF for my 8 skills, and when I monk I click my teammates
So how about you guys?

I used to mouse walk only (too many pathing issues without it), but after the news that it will be removed from GW2, I have been wasding a lot more.
For skills, it's 12345 and the three side buttons on my mouse which generates mouse4, mouse5 and mouse6. Clicking on skills is for noobs.

WERD for moving in pvp, mouse usually in pve.
For skills the two most used skills (normally SB and guardian) are on the mouse side buttons, the next one on A (dismiss), elite on 2 and rest on 345 and 6/T - though i usually click the last one and sometimes the second to last with the mouse. Click teammates with mouse in the party window.
Usually play monk, when I play other professions I tend to use the mouse much more to select skills.
Edit: partywindow on right side of screen, skillbar in two rows under it, energy and health horizontally above it.

Mouse being my primary control input of choice.
I click on the ground to move (outside of the key "A" which is used to move forward for the times when I can't be bothered to click on the floor or I just want to move forward constantly.).
Mouse click on the skillbar to activate skills - outside of the interrupt on skillslot 1 - I activate that one on the keyboard.
Tab and Q (I think) to scroll targets.
C + Space.
Wha, wha, WHAT!!??!?!?!?
Link please so that I can start to bitch about it NOW!!!!

WASD 1-8..
Usually play monk. Elite always on 3, guardian on 4, cond. removal on 5 rest depends on build.
use party window to select team, or mouse side buttons to go up or down on party window.

It just goes to show how my ignorance concerning GW2 was a smart decision!
The things I read on the links you provided ... if that turns out to be true ... GW2 might be shit!

Ideazon Fang gaming keypad. Pretty much everything except chat is assigned to buttons on that. I can do most things in-game without having to look away from the screen. I've figured out a good layout for the Fang, and gotten used to it... and now I can never go back to a regular keyboard.
I use the mouse for steering movement, and activating skills.
I have my skills in a 4x2 grid instead of the default 8x1, health and energy bars directly underneath, "drop item" directly above. All in-game messages moved to the left, where they won't obstruct my view of targets etc.

For movement i generally hold right mouse button to pick direction and use WSAD for movement/strafing (habits i picked up with FPS games). To select party members i use the party window. For activating skills i usually just click them, unless i'm monking or interrupting in which case i use 1-4 generally with the other 4 skills as my normal mouse click (skills that require lower reaction times).
garethporlest18
I usually WASD with QE sometimes and most of the time I click my skills. Because if I didn't I'd end up pressing the wrong number and using the wrong skill. Also that's why I don't really PvP.
Kapral
WSAD to move, mouse to click enemies unless I just have to c-space :-p. I'm trying to get used to using 1-8 for using skills, but I still click a lot. My skills are in a 4x2 grid instead of 8x1. Health, Energy, and Exp bars are right above the skill grid and sized down to equal with it. Everything that is visible at all times is moved all the way to the right except the District bar. Bout it I think.

WASD for movement, tho I keep the right mouse button down almost constantly for steering.
Mostly click on the skills with the mouse but like to keep my most-used attacks/skills on the 2 and 3 keys for easy punching in combat.

WASD then the QE for movement, 1-5 then RFV for skills.

WASD for movement (mouse only incase I think im lagging to test),1-8 and mouse klick for skills.
Targeting is set up on my mouse buttons (left and right of the mouse Buttons 4 and 5) If im on an offensive build I use nearest foe and next foe,
If its a defensive/support character I change the targeting to nearest ally and next ally.

I press R to autorun, S to stop when I need to and hold right click to turn left or right. Unless I'm in battle, which I use WASD for.
For skills, I press 1,2,3,4 and click skills 5-8. That way I can chain skills far faster than key skipping.

1-8 skills (pretty much every game has this out of the box, not point in changing)
WASD / arrows for movement (again, compatibility with all other games)
F1 to F8 for party members (about the only thing i customized)
i make *heavy* use of "R" key. I also make *heavy* use of click-to-move. both are really covenient way to move in instances and they basically free both hands for period of time (so i can chat with people, manage inventory - iding, salvaging ...)
More importatnly, it allows me to turn to casual/multitasking mode. i.e. i can take a bite or two of dinner while character moves to click-to-more, read some forums, or talk to bro when he is hanging around and all that without really interrupting my gameplay.
Hell, i can click some distant area and just chill a bit, basically taking short break.
This was one of things that GW did greatly and was actually better that wow system of "sit here and hold w key for 10 minutes straight if you want to get anywhere" where i ended up putting heavy object on keyboard (fists at whole keyboard at first, weight at w key later.) and i couldn't event alt-tab or i would stop moving.
No-one takes click to move from me. If anyone thought i was raging because of ursan, well, wait and see what happens if click-to-move gets removed. I might even start a thread.
Aye, seems like anet wants to take annoying and outright stupid things from wow and other standard mmos and put them to GW.
It's not like it really matters to me, I made decision not to buy GW2 based on fist info we got, and it seems like better and better decision every time i learn something new about it.

I do 99% of my movement by mouse, the exceptions being walking backwards/strafing in the rare situations that require it, and engaging autorun (after which I still steer by mouse. I also perform enemy selection by mouse when tabbing/c-spacing isn't convenient to pick priority targets fast enough. And, of course I put down hero flags with mouse-clicks, because as far as I'm aware, there's no other way.
For everything else, I use keys. I won't bother you guys with my keyboard lay-out, but I have few keys not assigned to some action or other.
GW2 having or not having mouse movement will be make or break for me. If I can't, I won't buy, no matter how brilliant a game it might turn out to be. I'm not going to bitch about it or anything, I'll just find another game to play, and bitch about that on its own particular fan forums.
