Do You Customize?
C R A F T
I used to customize all of my weapons/staves/wands for that extra burst of damage.
Now, I usually don't.
As a more mature player, I choose skills/heroes/henchies that compliment each other.
I've started to resell weapons I've outgrown to others in the position I was in months ago. (I call it community service. )
What's the point in having extra damage in a non-martial weapon anyway? I could see if customization added 20% Energy from that staff or wand, but they aren't designed for physical damage.
What are your thoughts?

i customize weapons for classes that actually use them to attack. for caster items, i just leave them uncustomized so i can shuffle them around if i need to.
Roman
I do customize weapons for my warrior, assassin, ranger and paragon: daggers, bows, spears, axes, swords and hammers. Other than that, no.
Dark Kal
Nope, the increase isn't worth it.
The Red Messenger
Yes. For my ranger, i have 12 customized bows; mainly did it for pvp.
Other than that, my warrior has a few customized items, and 2 customized spears on my paragon.
I never customize caster equipment.

Savio
If you think reselling caster weapons is worthwhile, yeah don't customize.
afya
I don't need to squeeze that 20% damage in PVE and I create another PVP character for PVP.
so no custommize.
so no custommize.
the Puppeteer
I usually get collectors weapons - ofc I customize em
MirkoTeran
Everything I can.
dunky_g
i cutsomise the wepons i use on warrior/ranger/paragon, and the rest i dont.
free_fall
Back in the early days, I would customize stuff but only stuff that was easily replacable, like collectors weapons or cheap common greens. Then I stopped, though I did customize an Elwyth's Recurve for my 1st ranger just last year. Didn't customize the one I got for my newer ranger and really haven't noticed much difference.

spending 1 hour and getting 1K you get from reselling ancient caster weapon or skin was popular ages ago?
Besides that, there are no max weapons in GW that you can outgrow. Really, there are none.
---
It just makes no sense keeping weapon for reselling. Either you keep it for using and customized it knowing that it will have negligible resale value anyway or you resell it immediately.
DarkWasp
People who buy martial weapons and wouldnt even consider like a 14 over 50, should customise their weapons. If you truly want max to the LAST percent, why not add the last 20%?

I pvp on all of my pve chars so everything is customized... I don't really give a rat's ass about how much the item is worth because i'm keeping it and not going to resell in the future.
Pyro maniac
of course, who doesn't
zwei2stein
(On side note: it would be awesome if ctrl+clicking weapons also informed group about customization status)
Minus30
I Customise anything that is meant to deal damage really. If you spend 100k+xx buying a 15^50 weapon and then not custumising it, why don't you just get a white one for free and get +20% from customising, you'll do alot more damage ;-)
nugzta
Why would anyone not customize their weapons especially on physicals? For resell? There are hardly rare weapons in GW, many weapons decrease in value overtime. I usually sell those 'rare' gold weapons and use collectors instead, or even better yet use greens if they have desired stats and skins and purple weapons as well.
phan
Everything i know i will be using ;
Thierry2
Nope. I usually change my weapon after a while and sell my old one. I'm a caster anyway and don't see the point in Customize.. wand to death ftw?
Phaedra Firesoul
i usually customise bows/swords/axes/spears if i know i dont plan on remaking a character. Magic weapons i generally don't. I just hate when i decide to reroll someone though and can't keep the weapon because it's customised.
Jumping Is Uselss
I customize most of my melee weapons for my war.

Customize, always. If I'm selling something, I sell it, if I outgrow something, I hero it, if I no longer need it, I salvage it or merch it. If I use it, I customize it. Most of the gear I use is mid range to low end stuff or BMP gear( that stuff looks awesome). My favorite weapons are a greater dark scimitar, a R9 grape sephis, a R9 grape max Warlord Shield, a grape colossal pick, a r9 sun&moon(bought for 15k +a crap gold) my tengu sword, a tetsubo hammer from the Z-chest, a gold hand hand axe from a chest and a briar blade. All customized, not much chance to sell them, they were pretty so I use them.
Prof Of Black
I customize any physical damage weapons. I dont give a shit about the price. Even if it's 100k + 100e or something.

i customize most of my weapons for my warrior ranger and sin,
i customize caster weapons only when i really feel like keeping them for one character,
other caster weapons i don't customize

MithranArkanere
Only greens, collector, crafter and non-caster weapons.
I'd never customize an staff, since that would be silly. There's no advantage in doing so. When you are a caster, you cast, you don't attack.

Zapper901
I customize almost all weapons for Warrior, Ranger, Assassin, Derv, and Paragon. I never customize stuff on casters.
netniwk
Everything except wands and staves.
HawkofStorms
Nope.
Its not like I'm every wanding anyways. Good offensive builds should synergy so you are always casting. Besides, that way I can give stuff to my heroes or other characters later.

Jack The Wretched
I customize every martial arts weapon I use ... Don't care for resell value ... I don't customize bows or spears as i don't have a ranger nor a para ... If I did have one of those, I would've customized their weapons too.
assassin laroth
if it'll help my current build (ie: customising daggers) yer, but i leave any wands or staves, cause its just pointless customising them
You can't see me
I don't customize as I have no room to keep the weapons I ditch when I buy a new one, so I may as well sell them, not to mention that PvE is already easy enough to beat without an extra 20% damage.
Zahr Dalsk
I use BMP weapons on account of the awesome Tengu and Mursaat skins. They come customized, so yeah. Rare skin items get sold.
Ate of DK
I don't customize staves and wands. Only melee weapons and bows.
So far only my ranger' bows have been customized because I use her in PvP a lot.

And here's what I do: when a weapon is getting old on a character, I transfer it to a hero. The hero was just using a collector/bonus weapon before.

EDIT: Oh wait, I thought of something I don't customize: weapons whose req I don't meet, like my spears. I don't customize those since it has no effect, and I really am not attacking with them. If for some reason I have an opportunity to attack something, I swap to a wand/staff.
drey2k
I customize pretty much everything that I know I want to keep.
If I like a particular skin and I know I'll be using the weapon for a long time, I always customize it.

Shuuda
I customize anything none caster weapon I intend on using, because I'm not an idiot who likes to less damage than I can do. 20% matters in PvP.
Kusandaa
Some of my war's and derv's weapons are customized (the ones I won't get tired of anytime soon, like my Oni Blade and my Ancient Scythe). Other than that, I don't customize anything because they're mostly caster weapons and I don't attack with them, and can resell them if I get tired of them.
Tatum
I customize weapons for my physical characters (Warrior, Paragon, assassin).
