Only because somethign is in the dat.file, doesn't mean that we will get it really or that it will be really that thing, what "we" think about them, what it will be.
Think only about the mini polar bar, how long that one must have been in the dat and neer was there a mention about it, that we should get it, nor was it never seen before in the dat, until they dropped several times and we got the big surprise...
I personally really hope, that alot of those listened minis won't find their way into the game. they are either to boring or mostly too unique and just only reskins.
Who wants to have really ugly boring forest minotaus, when you get for 2nd year much cooler looking aaxte's, which share the same creature model, but only othe cooler skin.
Same with Abyssal... the game has so much very cool creatures, and many of them, are not in the list, I especially mean now Glint or a Desert Wurm like creature, be it the leviathan, Cyndr or a normal desert wurm/junundu (Queen Ainundu)
When Anet limitates the badge of year 3 now on 14 minis, imo those would have been still the 14 best:
-Glint (wished like billion of times)
-Fenrir!!! (wished since its start of existence)
-Ooze (wished since its start of existence)
-Cyndr/Leviathan/Junundu (wished like million of times)
-Roaring Ether (wished since its start of existence)
-Raptor (wished since its start of existence)
-Mad King Thorn (wished like ten million of times)
-Smite Crawler (wished like ten million of times)
-Armored Cave Spider (wished like million of times)
-Rock Beetle (looks just more sweet, than this black beast thign)
-Mursaat Elementalist (wished like million of times)
-Margonite Ascendant (wished like million of times)
-Cloudtouched Simian (everyone wants a cute ape ^^)
-Krait Devouss (to have at least a shapeshiftign cool lizard, instead of a Graven monlith)
I personally think, when compressing all wishes of the community into 14 unique special creatures, the absolute 14 chosen ones of the chosen ones, then it are these 14 creatures, the community wishes surely most and that are the 14 creatures, wish are most unique of all wishes, we made for 3rd yer minis with exception of a cheaper version for a beetle mini, because greased is simple too rare

Sorin is correct. Basically, nothing sneaks into the game anymore without people knowing about it ahead of time (you just wait and see for the mysterious xunlai marketplace).

And most likely the 5th birthday will also be before GW 2 is released.
So they save some of the fan favorites like Smite Crawler and Glint for later.

We've already had a Miniature Destroyer, so i hope for our sake they do not make another.

If the game even reaches a 4th year, before GW2 releases ... i doubt about that, that we will see pets for a 4th year ...
I'd like to see the fan favourites mostly now all for 3rd year, then we have them in the game and will have quite a value, until GW2 gets release.

I think they could of expanded the selection abit and go after the most suggested Miniatures but overall i see nothing wrong with that list. People asked for a second Rollerbeetle type Miniature and so they did just that,people asked for a Miniature Mad King Thorn and it seems they have also done that.
Funny thing is half the people that have posted in this thread have commented in the past on what a waste of time miniatures are and yet here they are complaining that the newest ones use some reskins.
Mirkos version actually made sense.

None of the mini pets are reskins. All are actual monsters/creatures in the game. All they do is change the size of it. I don't remember people complaining that monsters in the game were a reskin of another monster, so why the big fuss about the minis?
If it bothers you so much, go play a different game. It is a mini pet, not a new armor with AL 1337 for a Monk to get at level 1.

.Thorn does not match the other minis you mentioned, he has a pumpkin head and kinda throws that off. Simian and Mallyx don't have similar animations *to what I noticed*. And I don't see how you think a jelly fish looks like a squid-like monster.

There are no reskins.
Some of them use the same squeleton, like the Necromancer's Flesh Golem uses the same as a Charr Axe yielder, but the models are different.
They only move in the same way.
