The others are different enough (or in the case of the beetle, a popular enough request) to justify their inclusion in this year's set. The Roaring Ether is a changed Temple Guardian, yes, but it at least has the fiery insides that make it look unique. Let's not even mention how cheap the Aatxe and Jungle Troll are to purchase in town these days if one decided they wanted one.

Fact remains that there are lots of unused 'unique' candidates to fill in for those two spots. That ANet didn't even consider just how similar these two are to already-existing minis - easily-available cheapo minis - is something to get perturbed about. Don't kiss the butt of poor decision-making. The Forest Minotaur and The Abyssal are lazy choices for inclusion. No other way about it. Granted, the Abyssal is probably cooler than the Jungle Troll but ANet could just overwrite the existing Jungle Trolls with Abyssals if they felt the need to have them in the game. If ANet really wanted something from Kryta included in the minipet list, they could've chosen a White Mantle representative or a Fog Nightmare (Nightmares have been popular requests too) over the Forest Minotaur. Hell, a mini Yerk Plopsquirt (Krytan Mergoyle boss

) or even just a plain Mergoyle in the Forest Mino's place would've been fine.

EDIT: I don't want to give the impression that I have a problem with the entire Year 3 set. Other than the Forest Troll and the Abyssal, I'm pretty satisfied with the list overall.

Fact is, they're not frickin reskins. You can disagree with the decision to include them if you want, but getting all, "OMG ANet is so lazy!" is ridiculous, because they didn't save any effort or time by making an Abyssal over any other mini.

That's not directed at you, but at the other people who are all huffy about the minis being similar, as if the fact that the monsters they're based on are reskins of other mini-mobs makes the creation of the new minis any easier.

Well, as I stated much earlier in this thread, it's not the "reskin effect" that I'm concerned about. I just think with limited mini slots to use, ANet should be aiming for as much uniqueness as possible with each and every slot (barring popular requests).

I love mini-pets! Roaring Ether, Mad King Thorn, Ooze, Cave Spider and the rest. I really hope that the White Rabbit is a mini.

Plus, whenever they get hit by anything, the "flashing" effect that occurs when monsters are struck with attacks turns them into a giant yellow cube.

I vote for a mini shard wolf, along with any of the crystal enemies from Dragon's Lair. And more importantly, Glint and a wurm*preferably Cyndr Maw or a junundu*!

Meh, some of them would have similarities with the older minis, but they're still cooler IMO - they should be, afterall, since they're *third* year pets.

would they replace the Abyssal, Forest minotaur and Irukandji with Glint, Fenrir and Cyndr i would even say, that the list woudl be perfect then.

Those 3 ones I name are the 3 creatures I personally love most to see hopefully one day as Mini Pets.

They are the absolute must have creatues as Minis.

When Fenrir can't be tamed as ranger Pet, give us at least a fantastic cool Mini Pet version :3

Glint is the most wished Mini Pet in the GW World, I can't understand, why it isn't in the list...there is no excuse to me imo, they are able to create a Mini-Kuunavang, so it should realy be no problem to anet, to give us a Mini-Glint, because Kuunavang was surely alot harder to create, beign a flying minipet. Glint even doesn't fly, that Draon would walk only on the ground and maybe spread its Wings, but more not...

beneath Glint the community wishes most to have a wurm creature as minipet, that pops up out of the ground, when the player don't moves and creatures dust clouds, like alraunes, when moving under the ground...
Cyndr is definetely of all wurm creatures the most coolest looking one

Who please can say no to such a cool looking Hell Wurm or this wonderful Snow Lion?

Also I personally would prefer a cool Krait or Smite Crawler anyday over a borign white rabbit

They can make maybe a Rabbit Miniday for Easter 2009 instead, but please don't waste a Minipet Slot for 3rd year on a boring Rabbit, when you could have instead a cool shapeshiftign lizard or one of the most wished creatures of GW history beneath Glint - a Smite Crawler

The 3 thigns listed above that should get replaced are only dumb creatures, which have way too much similarities to existing miniatures, to say not that they are reskins(but what they are in the end) and ANet should really put into 3rd year only miniatures, which are complete unique looking, that look totally different from all miniatures we had until now, with exception of a beetle minipet (where i personally would prefer rock beetles over this argh thing, because they just look sweeter, they have somethign somehow of ladybirds, only that the black spots are missign XD)

Well Phoenix Tears, I do agree that those would make better minis then the Minotaur, and maybe some previous b-day minis *troll* but not the white rabbit, especially if it jumps around bitting heads off

How many of the same mini can you put in the HoM? Would like nothing better then 20 mini spiders.

Wish I had started my minipet mill sooner since I really only use 2 characters to actually play. I like all but 3 of the minis, I hope I at least get the raptor so I can lol. Will probably get a dumb irukandji :P
