1. Male
2. I always play as a chick!
3. Since I'm not playing the game "as me," staring at a pixelated dude for hours on end just seems wrong! (Pixelated or not, sex is all in the mind!)
4. Do I "suspect" anyone? Hmm, sounds like you injecting motive into the choices of others... But to answer the question, no. I believe people play whatever they want, and their motive doesn't have to be devious.
5. No, for the reasons stated above.
6. No, and I'm not even sure how you could "take advantage" of someone else.
7. No, because it's just a game, and I don't ascribe any intentions or behaviors to others. Gender, race, politics, no difference. People are defined by their actions and words. If you are an a-hole, you're an a-hole. If you are a nice person, then you are a nice person...
8. I'd play a chick in any game where I can make them really tiny in stature, but very powerful.
what gender do you play?

2. Nope.
3. I don't like the way male characters run.
4. Yup.
5. Nope.
6. Nope.
7. Nope.
8. Doubtful. Male characters are generally too oafish looking.

1. Male
2. Yes
3. If I feel a different gender fits the character, I'll use whatever is appropriate (I have a female Mesmer, and male Necromancer).
4. I typically assume the player is male until proof is given.
5. No.
6. No.
7. No
8. It depends on the style of game. In a game where I was expected to roleplay legitimately, I would only use my own gender. In a game which is more action-oriented (Diablo II), I'll use whichever fits.

1.what is your gender?
Female
2.Have you ever played a character of the opposite sex?
In GW, no. In other games, yes - generally when I don't get a choice.
3.why or why not?
Because I remember gaming when all you played was male because people believed only boys played games and they only wanted to play male characters. I always found playing a male character... odd...
4.Do you often suspect anyone else of playing a gender not their own?
How do you mean? I don't think there is anything suss about it if that's what you mean.
Actually I normally believe everyone is male until they say or do something to show otherwise. There are certain ways that (adult) guys and girls talk/type that often give you clues to their gender. But without all of that, I do normally assume players are guys.
5.Do you treat players differently based on their avatar’s gender?
Nope. I treat players based on their behaviour. If they behave like and idiot, they get treated like an idiot.
6.Have you taken advantage of your characters gender?
Huh?
7.If you know someone is playing a character of a gender not their own, do you treat them differently?
No. Why should I? I don't really completely understand why they would, but I don't see anything wrong with it.
8.Would you be more likely to play a character of the other sex in another game? If so, which one(s)? Why?
In a game where I have a choice of gender, I am most likely to play a female character. I only play male characters when they look really really cool - or I have no choice...

2. No.
3. I'm a girly girl, I can't see myself as a man. Or would prefer not to.
4. Yes, often.
5. No. But sometimes I do, if I know the player's actual sex.
6. What does that mean? Taken advantage of as in "used it to the fullest"? Sure, I put them in pretty clothes and make them run around. But no, I have not "taken advantage" of others, through my use of the avatar's gender.
7. No.
8. No.
1. male.
2. only mules or temp characters.
3. cross dressing is not really my thing.
4. yes. a common joke is that MMORPG is short for 'Many Men Online Roleplaying Girls'.
5. no. I treat all as equals. I treat people differently based on how they behave.
6. no.
7. no. Their choice, no business of mine.
8. Don't think so.
to those of you who want something to stare at: it's pixels. I bet you can find something better to look at somewhere else... perhaps you could try going out in the real world...

1. Male
2. Yes
3. Depends on the mood and the concept. In GW, I don't care for many of the male models. One of the females actualy reminded me of my wife (and is named accordingly).
4. Quite often
5. Not realy, at least in GW. In more RP intensive games, perhaps if it suited the character.
6. In another game, it was once documented (repeatedly) about how much more generous players were to women characters. If that counts as "taking advantage" when it was in character to be female, then yes, but never used it in a plotting/manipulative way.
7. No

1. Female
2. No, I really hate the male character skins in gw. Except maybe the dervs.
3. Because there's certain things about my gender that are rather aesthetically pleasant
4. Yeah, seems like I'm not the only one. People often refer to me as a male, even though my ign is Loli and I play a girl char.
5. Not really, I usually assume I have the gender off anyway.
6. I do believe I'm often treated differently because of it. But I think my emote habits gets across my gender moreso than my character skin, and that causes this odd, rather generous treatment. Hard to think someone who uses <3, ^^, and >.< is a guy.
7. No
8. Not really. I don't think I could feel as attached to a male char as I could a female. And without being at least remotely attached to a char, it's hard to stay attached to an rpg.

2. Have you ever played a character of the opposite sex?
always
3. why or why not?
I want to look good
also, I can't relate to a male avatar
4. Do you often suspect anyone else of playing a gender not their own?
I don't care
5. Do you treat players differently based on their avatar’s gender?
I would love to answer 'no' but honestly speaking I have lower expectations about the in-game abilities of male avatars if I don't know the player

I always choose a female avatar if the option is available, see answers #2 and #3

1. Female
2. My three main characters are male.
3. When I started playing GW all of my characters were female but I replaced them because I like male armor and animations better. Female animations and armor sets, for most professions, are skanky.
4. I know several male players who play female characters.
5. No.
6. No. I suspect that some male players make female characters because it’s easier to get into groups for missions.
7. No.
8. I don’t know. It depends on the game. I like nice looking characters.
